  1. Joe Owen. His daughter Cheryl is married to Scott Courtney. It also points out he's "Not so much a fan but more an admirer."
  2. https://www.whitehavennews.co.uk/news/17346077.new-25m-sports-stadium-to-house-300-sellafield-staff-and-nhs-workers/
  3. And a nice piece on young Archie Freeman too
  4. I (kind of) remember a few years ago at Exeter, when Newcastle were there, that one of the Falcons riders was using a rev limiter and the Diamonds management complained and he was told not to use it as it was "giving him an unfair advantage." I think the rider was Seemond Stephens, but don't hold me to that.
  5. Will you also name those (if any) that are against them (genuine, unbiased question!!)?
  6. Redcar require a new team sponsor... http://www.redcar-speedway.com/2019/01/07/bears-thank-ecco/
  7. Shouldn't, as Newcastle have said they hope to open on Sunday 31st March with a Challenge against Redcar.
  8. I'd have Matty at 2 with Victor and Nike at 3 and 4 (doesn't really matter which way round they are) and I'd also swap Max and Danny round too. Just personal opinion, of course. I think, in addition to being OK at home, for the most part, again this year, we should do better away from home than we have the past few seasons (that's not a dig at any riders we've had in the past, by the way!), so we might finish top 6.
  9. Danny Phillips and Lasse Bjerre complete the 1-7
  10. Strangely.... I don't drink! I will be amazed if it's not Ludde and Danny, though, in all seriousness.
  11. Clearly things weren't going right for him last season (for whatever reason). IF he is our number 7, then I'm sure he can put all of it behind him and be happier in his riding. Hopefully supporters will get behind and support him, rather than slag the guy off if things don't go well.
  12. They tried it a few years ago in the then PL and it was scrapped half way through the season because a couple of the reserves were averaging somewhere near 8, IIRC (one was Tai Wofinden and I think the other was Jon Armstrong, but could be wrong).
  13. End of last seasons averages are here: http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/files/downloads/c18_issue_25.pdf
  14. Lunna, Palovaara, Jorgensen, Clegg and Matty W will entertain, I am sure of that. They give 100% every race. Just because they've cut the team averages down, it doesn't mean that the entertainment factor will be reduced. That is just a silly, sweeping comment, in my opinion.
  15. I make it 9.51 - Matty W 5.78 + Nike 5.63 + Max 3.17 + Thomas 7.66 + Victor 6.25 = 28.49
  16. Welcome back Victor. Final two revealed at the Christmas Party on Saturday: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100944
  17. Apparently he has his own Tommy Gun - same title different song:
  18. email to info@newcastlediamonds.co or if you're on Facebook message them on there.
  19. Connor Coles final NL average last season was 6.53. In comparison, Danny P averaged 6.75.
  20. Yep.. Director of Speedway Mark Lemon confirmed the clubs five remaining 2019 Aces who complete a dynamic and competitive septet: Steve Worrall, Dan Bewley, Dimitri Berge, Ricky Wells and Jaimon Lidsey.
