Not strictly true. A snapped chain can cause a rider to crash/fall, also a front wheel collapse and snapped handlebars too.

Carb problems, actually. He was changing the carb off the second bike to put onto his first bike, before being told that he was being replaced in heat 12.

So, how come when the team for the home meeting against Berwick was sent - 1) the BSPA didn't say 'no' to the line-up 2) Berwick speedway didn't protest against the line-up and 3) the Referee for Sunday's meeting agreed that the line-up was OK.
