  1. That looks a likely team, was thinking of that one myself, as long as the points limit stays at 40!
  2. Only need the current regulation of being a British passport holder and the under 4 point Pl average maintained. the sport even at this level has too many rules and regs which the casual fan can't figure out, start taking into account age and/or experience and will be even more baffling to most. Do most of us on here think if you ' banned ' or forced the retirement of the likes of Armstrong there's a queue of less experienced/younger riders waiting in the wings to step in and commit to a season with a club time and financially, I personally don't think so, but there may be?
  3. I think you need a combination of experience and bringing on the youngsters.Although Eastbourne were hammered on here for employing Adam Ellis last year, we also brought in and brought on the likes of Wood, Brennen, Powell, Harris, and even help develop the likes of Knight and Perks into heat leaders . That surely has to be the balance of bringing on the youngsters or older newbies and getting people through the gate to fund it.
  4. Leave it at 40, seems to be a fair figure to build to. Ideally should have been set for 2 years at least last year then you'd have none of the waiting for the agm to start serious team building.
  5. How about Perks Dugard Hopwood Dan Greenwood Wood Brennen and one of Hunter, Harris or Powell Total 39.85 maximum Just noticed Al3x200 went for exactly the same previously, must be the one to go for!
  6. How about this if Jake isn't riding, James Shanes 8.53 Richard Andrews 4.26 Georgie Wood 7.62 Kelsey Dugard 4.28 Ellis Perks 8.25 Tom Brennen 3.00 Luke Harris/Charley Powell.3.95/4.05 Total 39.89 or 39.99 Fairly strong 1/7 with 2 pretty good reserves whoever goes up and down.
  7. Hadn't seen that, do you know why ? James Shanes is on exactly the same average, would love to see him in the team if Jake isn't available to ride.
  8. What's the PL??? Haven't really studdied the new rules for the Championship, and don't know what the rules will be if they sign NL first? Think Perks will get a place in the Championship, still not sure Wood and Knight may only do NL for another year . Having had another quick scan if Wood and Knight start on 2 points you could be right!
  9. Think you're right, although I just hope the limit stays at 40. Seems a good limit to build to, gives scope for a decent heat leader, retain some of the improavers from last year and bring in some newbies/youngsters . Still think we'll go with Perks, Knight, Wood, Brennen, another 3 point reserve, then decide the last 2 places at 2and4 once the points limit is known.
  10. Points limit for team building and where riders what to ride will have a far greater bearing than supposed assets I think.
  11. Maybe need to be the best in the NL first! I'm happy where they are at the moment and look forward to the progression of Georgie Wood , Tom Brennan etc. With it looking likely Lakeside going NL next year, some cracking matches look likely with local teams Lakeside and Kent, and the renewed rivalry against Birmingham and Cradley.
  12. Does anyone know if there's a final set of green sheet averages to come out, or because of the unfinished fixtures the 27/9 ones will be the last ones issued?
  13. That's what it is now only with less teams!
  14. Exactly it was up to the Brum management to confirm that Shanes was eligible as said before, they failed to do that.
  15. Posting what he did was a no lose situation for him! He was either going to be right or happy. ....
  16. Unlikely anyone would own up to speaking to the ref, but did anyone see the ref talking to the fans? I was there quite early and didn't see it if it happened.
  17. Never ever seen a ref talk to supporters before a match! How on earth can a decision be made like that if true 30 minintes before a match. ...
  18. If it hadn't been for the riding of JPB last night the meeting would have been a greater disaster, and apart from a few of my fellow Eastie fans we would all rather have had the meeting with James Shanes riding whatever the result although still think we'd have won by more than 6. The subject has been discussed on here since Thursday regarding his eligibility, how on earth it wasn't clarified between Birmingham and the authorities whether the rule was in place or being ignored for this meeting beforehand is unbelievable. Imagine one phone call could have done the trick, giving time to arrange another guest or given the go ahead to use him.
  19. This topic will be really interesting to do again after the final green sheets and points limit are known. Great looking team but probably 2/3 points too high as I imagine the points will be 40 again, unfairly this year we haven't completed all our league matches and will be unable to lower our averages with a 60/30 loss at KL !!!
  20. I expect we'll win the league next year and lose the playoff then they'll drop it! Make a 'nice' bookend from 2002 ...
  21. Only reason is gate receipts again. Big gates for the semis and the final but is never right, but it'll be back next year for sure.
  22. Best team won on the night and well done, just a shame Eastbourne didn't turn up with a team, disregarding Stoneman were never going to win it with the 2 reserves and r/r . Only wonder was the lack of faith from some Brummie fans, always knew if Brum started as I suggested they would that it would quickly swing back in your favour.
