  1. Fair point, I expect it'll even out throughout the season . Although whatever systems used don't think it'll have any effect on our reserves at the moment!
  2. That seems crazy, will get rider's like Chessell on an inflated average only just short of the likes of Adam Ellis, seems too few matches to get a true average, especially as he's only done one away!
  3. I may be wrong but if you redeclare doesn't it still have to be within the original team building total as well?
  4. I have heard from a reliable source that Eastbourne have managed to find another buried loophole in the rules so if Adam is on a short term contract( which I sincerely hope is not the case ) we can implement the Matt Ford all leagues clause and re sign BWD because he really should have been with us this year anyway, or Lewis Bridger because he had last year off and did his promo at Arlington last week.
  5. Phew thought I was the only one with fat fingers, don't feel so embarrassed now!
  6. There isn't one, don't normally watch the first round of the KO cup, tend to further on through the rounds, the combination of the lack of speedway and Adam Ellis now riding for us made the decision for 3 of us to go where we might not have.
  7. Agree needs to brought to an end. I said this a few days ago but somebody just won't leave it alone!
  8. Just I think, if the reserves score a few more than last night may even come away with a narrow win.
  9. Agree, shame Harris isn't one of the reserves, if all this had happened a few day's earlier sure Kelsey would have come in at 2 and done a job.
  10. Hit the nail on the head, the track was really tricky last night, especially in the early heats and even Adam looked to have a couple of moments especially out of bend 2.Even though he did win his heats with relative ease, didn't look 'easy with the conditions and he must have learnt from that. I believe you maybe associated/family with Adam, just pass on to him the negative posts on here aren't from any Eastie fans, we're pleased to have him in for however long he's with us, and hope he continues the upward curve .(Sorry this is a reply to Jonny the Spuds post )
  11. Yawn! Please move on from this, it's so boring now. Adam's here now temporarily like it or not, I'm pleased, your not, let's talk about something else now ?
  12. Exactly, even the Poole fans on their own forum think it's a good move as he'll improve on smaller tracks.
  13. Got at least half a dozen reserved dates on the fixture list so shouldn't be a problem, weather permitting!
  14. Some people were saying it wasn't in the rules for us to use Harris at reserve, is that the case him being at 2 and bringing in Nick Lawrence?
  15. I don't think Adam Ellis found it " necessary " the opportunity arose because of the long term injuries to Hughes and Andrews on the first day. I still think the rules are about right with combination of his level down to beginners though.
  16. Should we not be saying isn't it great that NL riders of the like of Ellis and Clegg have developed enough to be successful in the EL, but can entertain in the NL as well?
  17. Agree,EL is a waste of space now, although Eastie did win the EL in 2000 and 2002 ( although lost the first playoff which I had the misfortune to be at, hopefully what goes round will come round?!) with a lot of home grown talent Dugard, Norris and Barker etc.
  18. I didn't mean to infer that Eastbourne and Birmingham were the catalyst, but they've certainly given the league a good move on. Totally agree it's still evolving and do believe it's going in the right direction with the combination of new untried riders coming in, experienced riders and the likes of Georgie Wood a potential heat leader in 2 years.
  19. The philosophy is still there! How many new riders to British speedway have Eastbourne brought into this league in one season and a couple of meetings? Some i admit at the level of BWD and Daniel Spiller, but others like Wood, Powell etc basically beginners, only difference now is you have more proactive promotions like Eastbourne, and Birmingham joining Cradley who to be fair were really ahead in that area over the last few years. I can only look at the league now compared to a few years ago and the potential of the new British 3 pointers and the likes of Bewdley and Brennen to come is far greater than in recent years. Surely they can only learn, and learn faster with the help from the likes of the Ellis's and the Dugards and other proactive promotions and aid their " development ".
  20. Sorry about the above, phone/Internet had a funny five minutes! Didn't show the last few posts either so the question was answered!
  21. I think it probably is that as you say apart from Kelsey there were no 4.5+ riders around and he really wanted a season away from Arlington. Maybe also looking further ahead they might keep the best two 3 pointers with another change in mind later on with the possible return of Hughes and/or Andrews with even Spiller maybe in the mix after his exams .Can't believe it's not a top 4 team, whichever way they go, and once in the playoffs should have the team needed to win it hopefully.
  22. I go to quite a few Eagles matches but not all, being 60 miles away so have to pick and choose a little. Even back in the Elite league day's tended to pick the one's where Nicki Pedersen had a fight on his hands with the likes of Crump and Adams over ones he would normally win with ease. Last year looked forward to Birmingham and Rye coming with the likes of Ellis and Branford making BWD work hard for his points and often beating him but made for great racing and a lively meeting. I know all the arguments over what the nl should be go on, but as the rules are as they are, should we not all be pleased that we have the chance for the time being to see Adam up against the likes of Bowen, Shanes etc. If he had signed for another team now, I would certainly be marking that one as one to see with the hope our guy's would give it go against him, as BWD did last year, normally coming second, but must have improved him as a rider. Anyway welcome Adam look forward to seeing you for whatever period and am sure you'll help bring on the newer rider's whilst you're here improving their level.
  23. Totally agree, don't know when Adam can first ride for us?
