Oxford v Birmingham Thursday 1st August PL
foreverblue replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Oxford has always been a good racetrack before it closed and now. Seen some terrific meetings there. As for Riss he had to do it for the team, otherwise he would have been passed, it was a gamble that paid off. Janowski on the other hand was given no room by Freddie and brushed the fence although not sure if they touched, great ride from him and good to see him riding well again. -

Yes they should have kept Klindt, even injured they could get a decent guest in. -

Trouble is Pawlicki is not the same rider anymore, I think he would struggle at 5. Not sure Cook and Brennan together would be a benefit, as for Oxford they need to drop a reserve and get a better rider in, two Championship reserves riding in the Premiership. -

Riss had to do it and take the gamble, luckily for Oxford it paid off. Riss looked quick tonight. Brennan rode well and it was good to see my old favourite rider Magic back to form. -

You also said he should ride at 3 to help his form, it didn't look like he needed any help! -

If Laguta had signed for Birmingham he would only have turned up twice possibly only once! -

Sam should have told him but he probably did not think of it, makes so many tactical mistakes it's amazing. -

I think Lawson would be welcome back whatever his average is. -
Yes and riders form improves if they are busy.

Yes surprising signing and very astute to get Tobias Thomsen in, personally I thought Thomsen would struggle but very happy to be proved wrong. Very surprised Brennan became available and has improved to be a top rider in this league. -
Most teams in any sport struggle when they are losing, i am sure tickets to see Ipswich Town were easier to get when they weren't doing so well.

yep, a lot of If's in speedway. Aces deserved it and Birmingham messed up especially Lindgren early on, came good in the end but too late. -

You would have lost if Birmingham could prepare a track to suit their own riders, plus Lindgren not starting too well and Sam messing up the tactics also didnt help . -
Don't know why not, riders always forgive like Zach has forgiven Birmingham.

May have to get Kyle and Anders back.

Yes I think Belle Vue got away with one, should have been a Birmingham victory but lost it in the early races and gave themselves too much to do added to Sam and his inept tactics.
