Well try this one then! I am from Poole, and it is well noted over the years my feelings regarding Nicki YET last night watching the final and the number of re-runs thereafter I believe that it was just a racing incident! Nicki went for a gap, and let's face it you got have got a double decker bus through that gap once Crumpy had taken Bjarne wide! Bjarne knew that Nicki was coming under him so turned back to stop the challenge, however Nicki was already there and they clashed! Nicki accpeted the blame with a smile as no doubt he has come to terms with being the villan of speedway these days! I had four friends round last night to watch the GP, all obviously Poole Supporters and ALL decided that Nicki was in the wrong! even when Mark Loram in the studio basically agreed with what I had said they could still not see that Bjarne had tried to stop Nicki! Oh the fun that is speedway!

That is the first post I have read here tonight that has actually made me laugh! Thank you for that!

Congratualtions to them all! Mind you if he was Fit and Well and just back home helping with the delivery of his son (not that I am knocking him doing that!) but surely Oxford should not have been allowed a guest rider in his place!!??

Very similar to the feeling I had when near Bruce Penhall (obviously before he went off to Hollywood!) I have a picture of him and I taken by the showers at Poole, when I say by the showers I mean the hallway just outside them before anyone questions that ! Mind you, I was also thrown into the bath at Poole one season, fully clothed I must add here, but they were nice enough to take off my new boots first! Oh the memories of my younger days!

British Boys - Class of 2005

What utter twaddle! If this was the case then Mark would be just as bad in EL racing and his other commitments abroad! This is not the case at all, he has proved all year that on a decent track he can beat anyone! -

If any of you bothered to read his article in the Speedway Star this week, you would understand his form in the GP's We all know that Mark is a racer and loves to go round the boards! This is not possible in the first few races of the GP's on Olsen's famous slick tracks, however with the new format next year Mark would thrive, a darn sight more than Lee Richardson will! I know Lee is an up and coming Brit (but then he has had that title for years now and not done much with it!) There is nothing wrong with the team set-up that Mark has, just because he doesn't have a flash transporter, boards all around his pit and far too many mechanics! In the end it is down to the rider to race and not how many hangers on they have with them! -
Exactly what I was thinking! This style of GP is more for Mark Loram and on this basis BSI should give him strong consideration!

Jason Crump 2004 World Champ
SuzieQ replied to shazzybird's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well Done Jase! At last you have made it to the top! Got really choked when everyone was hugging him and then that special moment with Mia, Mel and then Seth! Thrilled to bits that the Aussies have finally got their name back on the trophy (well, not that it is the same trophy, but you know what I mean!) -
It's the Final Countdown!!!

Erm, so which one didn't? Jerzy Schakiel? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No SCB! I am referring to the only other rider this year that if things go wrong for Jason could the title (for the 6th time if that helps you!) -
It's the Final Countdown!!!
SuzieQ replied to Potters_Lass's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well, I wish Jason all the luck in the world for tomorrow! I will be sitting here chearing him on through every race........(OK, every race that he is in!) He deserves to be World Champion and I actually think he will be a good ambasador for the sport! When things don't go his way atleast he takes it out on himself (except for sacking Ben for something that was actually Jase's fault!) but apart from that he is a great guy, very shy and quiet till you get to know him, trouble is then he can become a little sod and really wind you up! (something I found out last year in Denmark for the SWC..... thanks for that one Jase!) Anyway - come on Crumpy - shows us that that is YOUR YEAR! Much rather has a World Champ that actually rides in Britain! -
Have to agree with you on this part! I wonder where the Danish Riders get their aggresive behaviour from?
-
And there aren't many that are reasonably priced now as they know they can fleece the speedway supporters!

My heart goes out to Steve and his family. May Jim rest peacefully now and take care of Steve's son for him.

Fantastic pictures Jim! some really took me back, seeing Mel Taylor again, a very young looking Scott Autrey and the ones of JD (I swear that guy never seems to age!!)
