European club champions cup final, Ljubljana 19.9.
jeffster replied to tomazpozrl's topic in International World of Speedway
I saw the final of this competition in Pardubice 2 or 3 years ago (it was the day before the Golden Helmet). That particular year, Togliatti used both Jason Crump & Ryan Sullivan.... Teams always rent riders in for the final......Doesnt make it right though, and I certainly think the practice devalues the competition.... -
Chris, I have looked at the Czech trains timetable site http://www.vlak.cz , and have found out the following : 10.03 from Prague Main Station (Hlavni Nadrazni) gets into Pardubice at 11.20 - be tight after clearing customs, etc... 10.29 from Prague Holesovice gets into Pardubice at 11.35 I think you might be better off getting a "CEDAZ" mini bus direct to Pardubice from the Airport - will cost around £40, but if there is a few of you in your party, and you split the cost, it will work out pretty cheap.... Cedaz website is here : http://www.aas.cz/cedaz/default_e.htm I would book in advance,Chris, if you decide to use Cedaz - Phone numbers are on the website

Here ya go, : http://www.speedway-prague.cz/uk/location.html Marketa is in the "Brevnov" district of North West Prague..... To get there : Metro to "Hradcanska" Station on Line A...Then tram Number 1 or 18 to the stop called "Vetrnik".... OR : Bus 191 from "Andel" Bus station , which is next to "Andel" Metro Station to the stop called "Vypich".... Prague Integrated Public Transport system web-site : http://www.dp-praha.cz/en/index.htm Have to agree with yourself & Rico....Does hack me off when some Brits go to a foreign country, and whinge "no one speaks english..." , "the food is foreign..." (of course it is ! ), etc......I wonder why some of these people dare bother to leave our shores, when all they seem to want is British food, beer, and Newspapers....

So, the answer to my question is "No" then.....LOL Off to the Opticians now

Yes Hans shafted his Ipswich team mate tonight, but he also helped out his Swedish team mate, PK, as Handy Shandy & PK both ride for Luxo Stars in Sweden.... Maybe Hans will be attempting to cry WOLF in 2005 ?

Time to go oh Middlo
jeffster replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Ladies & Gentlemen, Welcome to today's edition of the "Muppet Show", starring : 1, A wannabe David Bailey, with much to learn about the TIMING of taking photographs.... 2, Hans N. Andersen (N = No one likes me ?).....Perfect display of team riding tonight....Me thinks he may be looking for a new British Club come March 2005...Be interesting to see the Eastbourne V. Ispwich match on SKY on Monday...Me thinks the Ipswich section of the Arllington pits may resemble Siberia, the atmosphere will be so frosty...... 3, Up & Coming Comedian, Vincent Vega, for laughably suggesting Neil Middleditch should be replaced as GB Team Boss..... I echo thoughts that now is not the time to be looking for scapegoats....Ronnie Russell guarantees GB a World Cup Win ? You're having a laugh....Too many cans of Special Brew tonight, eh, VV ? Yes, its gutting GB didnt win tonight, but 1 & 2 above had a MAJOR bearing on tonight's result.... No one could have asked for, nor the riders & team management given more tonight, to win the World Cup..... IF Middlo decides himself to step down as GB Boss, fine, as long as its his decision....However, who would Team GB replace him with ? Not Ronnie Russell thats for sure...... To my mind, there is no outstandingly obvious candidate to replace Neil......I hope the "powers that be" do not suffer VV's knee jerk reaction, and hastily sack Neil, because that would be so unfair, and an incorrect decision.... -
1st : Zdenek Simota 2nd : Filip Sitera 3rd : Lubos Tomicek

I am correct in presuming the top 8 scorers make the final, and if so, why bother with the two semi's and final after the 20 heats ?
