  1. Fingers crossed that Lewis is Brough bound again. He will be a real trump card in the PL this year.
  2. Dickie's not there to show him the way round now. Stead is a good rider but wouldn't be an out and out no1 at Brough.
  3. Whilst disappointed we won't be seeing Richie next season I am seriously delighted that the lad is not settling for just making a living at speedway and it aiming for the top. Good luck son.
  4. Not a #1 but I liked the strength in depth we had this year and would build a side that way again.
  5. It should be allowed for British based riders (so some Aussies allowed), under 24 years of age. If you haven't kicked on by that age you pick your level and ride there. If that means part time, it means part time.
  6. Hear hear (although I happen to stand as far away as possible from the Crazy Gang whilst remaining in the stadium - no offence peeps, I've been a 4th bend viewer since 1975). Special thanks to the ladies in the teashop who are always smiling.
  7. I'm happy for our season to be over. Somerset deserve the title, as we did last year.
  8. I think that riders who throw their legs back have more problems these days because of the laydown engines. Back in the day we had an Aussie called Robbie Blackadder whose 9 point average was made up of a weekly score of 3,3,Fx,3
  9. Perhaps if young Morris had learned that the throttle goes both ways he may not have come such a cropper. And as for Alun Rossiter. The fact he was crap might have something to do with his opinions. We used the put the fence builders on overtime when he turned up.
  10. Completely agree. Doyle is a genuine EL heat leader slumming it in the PL. Richie is a young lad learning his trade. I'm sure when Richie has fallen off deliberately as often as Doyle he'll be quite good at it. Currently he's hopeless at it. His effort in heat10 was fairly obvious compared to Doyle's masterclass earlier in the meeting.
  11. He's learning then. That's how you get experience. Watch a master of a skill (Doyle does this at least once a meeting) then learn how to do it.
  12. Congratulations to the Rebels. Worthy league toppers and surely now playoff winners. On to 2014. Can we have Rosen and Kerr back pretty please?
  13. Doyle showing the benefit of his great experience. 1.When to fall off (when half a wheel behind on the outside) 2. When to knock the opposition off (when half a wheel behind on the inside)
  14. I would expect Andrew Tully back as a relatively low cost, solid middle order rider. Not sure we'll see Rosen, much as we'd all love it. Likely to get a spot in Poland.
  15. Lambert will learn more in 4 laps at Brough Park than weeks of blasting round huge tracks with the throttle wide open.
  16. Would need a new airfence every week with Fisher.
  17. My point is that Richie, a young lad who was a novice 2 years ago, has been riding as #1 and captain aganist far more experienced opponents and sometimes it shows in hts 13 and 15
  18. And that is why I have been naysaying all those putting the Diamonds down as the top team. Been weak all season at the sharp end of away matches. Great season overall but not enough firepower in the end. Got to remember that our #1 started last season as a 3 point reserve.
  19. Diamonds need to hit 42 minimum here as the Rebels should do so at Brough Park. Can't see it though.
