I have witnessed two fatalities and neither rider hit the fence at all. In my years of watching it's riders falling and being hit by another rider that seem the worst.

A poor meeting Sheffield literally only had two riders. None of the other five beat a Diamond all night. The only interest was watching the elbows flying into the first bend every time Worrall and Lawson met.

Lawson, Wells and Roynon have all had good meetings at Brough. I remember Wells scoring 12 and a few bonus for Stoke. I'd expect the others to struggle though apart from one race win from Hall which always manages. 52-38

TWK won't take kindly to being lumped in with a load of Geordies!

Given that Newcastle generally struggle to hit 35 at Owlerton I'd take a 50-40 defeat right now.

Of course a weakened Rye House also had the misfortune to turn up just after the Diamonds would have received a right bollocking for their own recent poor form.

Did Doolan not get a 12 point max at Brough last season? Certainly has a better record there that the Poshtralian chap.

He scored a paid max for KL in the NL at the weekend. Maybe a few weeks seeing the chequered flag in that league will help. Good luck Steve

Full time or as a one off?

It is behind Cramlington Learning Village (the High School when I went). Enter Cramlington from the south and head towards the town centre. It is difficult to miss and the cycle speedway actually had a sign out be the front gate yesterday. I'd have gone but for Hurricane Sandy hitting at the start time.

Richie is so sharp from the gate opposing fans assume he is jumping the starts. How else could he be 5 yards ahead after 10yards of a race. Be thankful the UK has found someone this quick out of the starts. As his recent 14 and 18 point scores in the EL show, he could be the next British GP rider. He is only passing through Newcastle but I will follow his career with great interest.

The Diamonds are carrying two riders at the moment. I expect a comfortable 50-40 for the Rebels and they will be taking on the Monarchs in the playoff final (although Newcastle may win the league again).
