  1. I said last Sunday that I can see Kerr pulling in a 5 point average by season end. Looks tidy.
  2. Yes, did well in the latter heats. Great show from young Lewis. Gives us a good chance on Sunday.
  3. One of those nights when everything goes wrong. Can only hope they all get home with no injuries.
  4. Very little passing as the Diamonds were in front by the first bend most of the time. Pretty much all positive again for Newcastle but what happened to the Matej Kus who scored 13 on his first visit to Brough Park? Maybe he doesn't like the super smooth surface we have these days? Very encouraged by Lewis Kerr's last two rides. Gave Wilko a good race for 4 laps in one of them. I reckon he will easily hit his average and may well be 4-5 by seaon end. Anyone got any ideas why Richie stopped and then started again in ht13?
  5. Take the top 2 out of most EL teams and they are PL standard riders.
  6. TARDIS for you TWK. You'll only be truly happy in 1958.
  7. Apart from the cold, an enjoyable evening. Some decent racing, especially in the later heats when Rene pulled his finger out, on a well prepared death trap. No falls all night. Evidence presented that Richie will take moving into the top 5 in his stride and has every chance of being a genuine no1 by season end. All the other Dimonds showed well and once Ludvig was dialled in he looked unbeatable. Worky's full team will be strong and given luck with injuries or Rusty losing interest again, they are certs for the playoffs
  8. It'll be like a game of sardines with half the terracing out of bounds!
  9. Any news on a Tully replacement? I'd go r/r in a friendly.
  10. Stop dreaming. We have to pay these guys. Just because their average fits doesn't mean they can be accomodated. To be fair to Claes he was riding an eight point average for the last two months of the season and he's our asset. By far the most likely option.
  11. The main thing is that he can trap like a GP rider a lot of the time. That will always stand him in good stead. He now has good kit and can stay in front too. Fingers crossed for an injury free season. Team GB needs another young star coming through.
  12. As mentioned before, speedway needs to be promoted as an extreme sport to attract teenage boys. The downside is that marketing this way alienates the current customer base of people who travel to each meeting via a time portal from 1952 when you got a night at the speedway, 6 pints of beer, a go on the funfair and a dance at the Palais for fourpence ha'penny. Everyone was lovely, there was no crime, the hoodie hadn't been invented and neither had muslims. The Empire was creaking but the new Queen was lovely. The technology of the sport has moved on massively but the customer base has not. Entertaining the few kids who go now is less important than gaining a new audience for the sport.
  13. All the best to Havvy. A great rider. Big question now is who will receive the comedy booing at Brough?
  14. Saw the stadium on Look North last night. Looking good. Can't wait to get over at Easter.
  15. That is the weekend of the Ashes cricket test match at Chester le Street. Would be a good idea to see some advertising for the speedway test either at the ground or in the programme.
  16. The music at Newcastle is OK for an old rocker like me. Plenty of AC/DC.
