  1. Cook (from his one top flight meeting this year) probably could.
  2. Good on him for taking opportunities while he can. TV work is about to get a whole lot busier tho.
  3. Odd, just seen an interview with Garrity on the Birmingham official page that then suddenly disappeared. Anyone else see this?
  4. Fair enough, it’s not often meetings start the 1st heat at the scheduled time for starting the meeting tho anyway.
  5. Must admit I was very surprised that people actually believe that the announced start time is the actual 1st race! Completely barmy!!! Speedway meetings always have had a start time (2.15pm, 7.30pm etc) which anyone that has ever been to a speedway meeting knows that meetings start with a parade AT that scheduled time. Heat 1 has never been at the announced start time. The only exemptions have been when the weather is bad or poor forecast so they forgo the parade and start heat 1 straight away. That’s an exemption not a normality. It makes you wonder if people commenting have ever been to an actual meeting!
  6. He doesn’t want a full time top flight spot. He has made that very clear because of his TV commitments.
  7. He is still new and raw to the sport. He is going to learn a lot from riding in the top tier. Any rider he beats is a bonus at this stage.
  8. Let’s see if the Brummies can keep it on a roll. 44-46.
  9. Exactly, that was my point. They are much weaker than last season and fail to see where the improvements are going to come from. Blodorn is doing way better away than I expected and mountain in reserve will get them a few points. Not in the same league as PC and Mort.
  10. Think the jury is very much out on Cook being back in the top flight.
  11. Well done the Brummies on the win. Much better racing than the bore fest I watched earlier in the season. The Aces look poorer on paper this season and I’ve seen nothing to convince me otherwise. Bewley is way overrated and seems to be going backwards this season so far. Brennan starting to come of age and Pawlicki showing his undoubted class in the 15th.
  12. Hoping the Brummies can get it together on tv and take the win.
  13. As Wolfe said, he is a one track pony in the UK these days. Huge difference between his BV average and his away average. Would struggle for double figures imho.
  14. A decent meeting with some excellent speedway. So good to see someone other than Zmarzlik winning. Lambert sadly went backwards in his last 2 important heats but well done to Holder. Track got rougher as the meeting went on and glad that gate 4 came good in the last 2 important heats, Freddie made good use of it in the final. Woffy looked completely disinterested pulling up when at the back is a pet hate of mine. Bewley has speed but gets lost in traffic.
  15. To be honest I was completely unaware of this until tonight. Why launch something for just 2 rounds? It’s making a farce of the current scoring. Just do it for every round or don’t bother. Too much of a gimmick for my liking.
  16. Yes sadly Birmingham had riders assessed UP when most teams want riders on low false averages. Unfortunately for the Brummies he has come into our league which is at its strongest in 12 years or more so it was always going to be tough for him. That said he is a very capable rider.
  17. How is it false? Its a truer representation of his 2023 season. You can’t just bump it up because he has started 2024 well when guesting.
  18. He hasn’t ridden in the UK in years so of course he needs to adapt to the British tracks. He scored 8 in his 2nd meeting so he certainly wasn’t sh#te in that one. He rides in the top flight in Sweden and had ridden regularly in the top flight in Poland (the 2nd tier in Poland is not much different to our top flight) so it’s without question he is more than a decent rider. He is definetly a racer and a trier and I’m delighted he is back in British speedway. I hope he stays and is able to settle.
  19. It’s not the bottom league. It’s a very high standard league when you consider the standard of riders. Similar to our league. Milik is a decent standard in Europe and needs to adapt to UK tracks before he starts scoring well which he will. Great rider.
  20. No, as per the Jason Doyle SCB statement.
