Sheffield vs Ipswich 13th May
stevebrum replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Tai always wants to appear cool, aloof and controversial. I get it. Whether it’s the right approach is a different matter. Either way, he has succeeded doing it his way and generally is the one the press and interviewers want to speak to the most. -

Tai is also known as being a proven multi world champion. Controversy is part of his make up as well it seems. Tai is a proven world champion multi times over, Emil is not. Tai is a loose cannon and controversial character at times but has earned that right. Emil can be as interview perfect as he wants, he is very popular. Being a good interviewer doesn’t earn him the kudos that Tai already has. -
Difference of opinion is ok. Thought he was on the cusp of the GPs 3 seasons ago, seems to have stalled or peaked. I still enjoy watching him race and a proper battler, not in the UK this year tho.

Not in the UK he won’t be. -
I’ve rated him a long time and enjoy watching him race. He certainly hasn’t pulled up any trees for Birmingham tho.

Tai does, and is known for it. He is outspoken. People seem to have an issue with that. -
Gutted that Milik hasn’t lasted very long. Was looking forward to seeing him again when hopefully he would have got more used to British tracks. On average it’s a like for like change but this is a downgrade signing and isn’t going to improve the team at all.

Miles apart this year I’d say. Woffy is a winner, he wants the best out of everyone on or in his team. He isn’t afraid to say it as it is. Its not like he is lying! -

Perfect! Sheffield is such a dull track. Well done the Witches. Thompson the key man so far this season. Cant see anyone getting much against them this season. -
Good on him for taking opportunities while he can. TV work is about to get a whole lot busier tho.

Odd, just seen an interview with Garrity on the Birmingham official page that then suddenly disappeared. Anyone else see this?

Witches v Lynn May 6th 2.15pm
stevebrum replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Fair enough, it’s not often meetings start the 1st heat at the scheduled time for starting the meeting tho anyway. -
Tigers through with ease

Must admit I was very surprised that people actually believe that the announced start time is the actual 1st race! Completely barmy!!! Speedway meetings always have had a start time (2.15pm, 7.30pm etc) which anyone that has ever been to a speedway meeting knows that meetings start with a parade AT that scheduled time. Heat 1 has never been at the announced start time. The only exemptions have been when the weather is bad or poor forecast so they forgo the parade and start heat 1 straight away. That’s an exemption not a normality. It makes you wonder if people commenting have ever been to an actual meeting! -
He doesn’t want a full time top flight spot. He has made that very clear because of his TV commitments.
-
Correct. 4.57 so far this season.
-
He is still new and raw to the sport. He is going to learn a lot from riding in the top tier. Any rider he beats is a bonus at this stage.
-
And beat Flint last month.
-
Let’s see if the Brummies can keep it on a roll. 44-46.
-
Exactly, that was my point. They are much weaker than last season and fail to see where the improvements are going to come from. Blodorn is doing way better away than I expected and mountain in reserve will get them a few points. Not in the same league as PC and Mort.
-
Think the jury is very much out on Cook being back in the top flight.
-
Well done the Brummies on the win. Much better racing than the bore fest I watched earlier in the season. The Aces look poorer on paper this season and I’ve seen nothing to convince me otherwise. Bewley is way overrated and seems to be going backwards this season so far. Brennan starting to come of age and Pawlicki showing his undoubted class in the 15th.

Hoping the Brummies can get it together on tv and take the win.
