a quite price worthy Hotel is Spar Hotel Gårda, cheap rooms of good standard the only downside is that if you are unlucky you'll get a room with the window facing a freeway They also have a second hotel i n Gothenburg in Majorna but that hotel is maybe 4-5 Km away from the city center but the trams have a quite frequent traffic even during late evenings and early nights. another good hotel is Hotel Lorensberg that is a central hotel of good standard they also seems to have lower pricer (more expensive then the first two though) for that particular weekend as well. -

not only those are banned. Nermark, Daniel King, Patrick Pawlaszczyk & Nicolai Klindt are banned from Poland for one year while Adrian Gomólski, Chris Harris och Karol Zabik are banned for two years. these riders refused to ride in a meeting because they considered the track to be unsafe. http://www.vt.se/sport/artikel.aspx?articleid=5160706 -

some other signings are Zorro stays with Indianerna, Patryk Dudek to Örnarna. One rumour is that Bjarne rides for Indianerna next year, he have signed with a team but he do not want to tell which one yet. He will release a pressrelease at December 5th, the day after Indianernas press conference. Another rumour is Janusz Kolodziej to Elit Vetlanda. Gollob is negotiating with Valsarna. Rospiggarna (and Vargarna?) are interested in Chris Harris. -

Rafal Dobrucki apparently did not sign with Valsarna after all. Suddenly he has now signed with Piraterna and the history repeat it self. Rafal then had an agreement with Vargarna to ride with them the past season but then like now he signed with Piraterna. -

Vargarna have successfully managed to sell the name rights for their arena. Vargarna's hometrack Kråkvilan will now be named Ica Maxi Arena the nearest three season. Västervik's "saviour" the honorary member, confirms that he have loaned Västervik enough money for them to be able to pay their rider debts. They are also close in signing a new team manager. But they still don't have any riders signed. -

Best Grand Prix?
Ghostwalker replied to scottrocks's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
the reason to why Stockholm's Olympic stadium was not used any more was because they city of Stockholm spent allot of money on new running tracks since it primary is a track&field arena (with some football as well) . With the new tracks a ban was issued in which it said that it no longer was allowed to cover the tracks. Therefore the GP was moved to Eskilstuna. A fine track (pf the same length as Leszno and P'boro) and stadium but without enough support from the city the GP was "doomed" and was moved again now to Gothenburg. -

Västervik has received an unknown amount of money from one of their honorary members. This means that Västervik might be able to pay their debts and to start the work of building a team for next season. Although they are not safe yet. I also hope that, if they make it, they will learn their lesson and adjust the team so that they have team that they can afford so that they dont end up in this situation again. http://vt.se/sport/artikel.aspx?articleid=5146662 -

Gollob's manager, Tomasz Gaszynski, have been interviewed by a local Västervik newspaper. Question: have Gollob taken a decision about next year? Reply: i do not want to comment that at the moment. Q: Have Västervik been in touch with you? R: no. We're still waiting. Q: So you dont know what you will do with next years contract yet? R: As i said i dont want to talk about it at the moment. We will take within the nearest future. Q: How far from now is the nearest future? R: Give us a week to 10 days and we'll be able to discuss it. -

Ghostwalker replied to gaztrotter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
the world champion is not decided in one race The champion is decided ine a series of races., which is why there are 11 GPs. The champion is the one who have the best combines score from ALL Gps. Which is the direct opposite of what you says about one race. The same system is used, in WRC, F1, Moto GP where the champion is decided in a SERIES. One race is not a series, Also one race is too circumstantial IMO. Definition of series: How to decide who the best 15 is? well it wouldn't be so hard to have a database where the number of scored points and ridden heats and use it to calculate an average in the same way as in the leagues. -

last year Zorro became Swedish champion, does that automatically mean the he is a better rider then Fredrik Lindgren, Amdreas Jonsson, Jonas Davidsson? This year THJ finished 3rd, does that make him better then PK, Lindbäck, Davidsson, Nermark? or when Harris won at Cardiff did that make him the best rider in the world? its the same with the GP challenge. Zorro finished ahead of Harris, Lindgren, Miedzinski ... does that mean that Zorro is a better rider then them? My point is that ONE race is not sufficient to decide who is the best rider. Because why did he win? because he is the best? because he was lucky? Because he had a better gate? because the track suited him better then the others? while the results from an entire season gives you a better idea about who is the best rider because in the latter case the riders have raced against other and allot of other riders of various skill, on allot of different types of tracks. Simply an entire season gives allot more input about a riders skill then just a 5-6 heats one night, on one track against a fewer amount of opponents. -

i dont think they should get rid of the nominations. What if a rider (i.e Jason Crump) gets injured and misses both several GPs and one round of the qualifications. He then ends the season outside top 8. As it is now he would get a nomination but if you got rid of ther nominations Jason would not be in the GPs... -

Rico (7,72) , Lindbäck (7,04) and Protasiewicz (8,26), Miedzinski (7,60) have higher averages in Sweden then Harris (6,90) and Woffinden (6,63) you also have to take into account that Tai rode as a reserve during the entire season (except for one or two meetings) while the other rode as 1-5. In Poland; Pepe 8.89, Zagar 7,56, Miedzinski 7,51, Rico, 7,16, Lindbäck 6,79, Tai 6,44 In UK: Zagar: 9,15, Harris 8,54, Rico 8,56, Tai 7,47 SWC race off: Lindbäck 10. Harris 9, Rico 17, Woffinden 8. So it seems that Harris and Tai aren't better then the other suggested riders in neither Sweden, Poland,UK or SWC. So why should these two riders with the lowest score (compared to other suggestions) in all 3 major leagues+SWC get a nomination each? -

Ghostwalker replied to gaztrotter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
well they are better riders then Harris and i think its very silly that a rider can finish outside top 8 year after year and still get a a nomination ahead of other better riders. They deserve it just as much as Harris It was the same with Nicholls who received nomination after nomination despite failing top 8. Now the story repeats its elf with Harris. Again how many chances should Harris get? 4,5,6,7,8,9,10? Harris haver failed three years in a row now and he have actually gone backwards. He finished 9th the first year, 13th last year and 14th this seaso and people actually think he still deserves a nomination? and as far as i know Tai didn't go particularly far in the qualifiers either and he is not better then any of the ones above. And why should the qualifying process be the only decider about who's in or not? -
