Well there are scenarios that i think can justify a Wild Card system. There is allot of injuries in speedway and a rider can enter the qualifications but hwta happenes if they get injured while leading the Quali semi but because if the injury he cannot continue the semi and misses the chance to qualify for the Gp challenge. Or even worse a GP rider enters the qualifications but also gets injured while riding a the qualifications. For this rider too the injury prevents further advancement in the qualifications. The injury also causes this rider to finish outside the top 8 (he was with top 8 before injury) don't you think it would a good idea with a WC system so that this rider can be in the gp the next season? The qualifications also sometimes reward those who are familiar with the track so i don't know if it would be possible but i would like to have 2-3 CP challenge finals instead of one just to make sure that no rider gets too much advantage from the track. I think that the WC system is good if used in an appropriate way. However i do think that is totally wrong to give the same people the WCs year after year. Like Nicholls should not get another WC because he have already got his chances Also Isn't Emil S a WC rider this year?

TMC the track have been a disgrace at Ullevi every year. It was that this year, it was even worse last year, in 2004 it was the same kind of motocross track and in 2003 well they actually had to to postpone the GP a week after the riders striked.

there are already rumours that both Krsko and Dagauvpils will be replaced for next season. Croatia is mentioned as possible replacement for Krsko. Regarding BSI they are only seems interested in making a profit as large as possible. 15'000 people at Ullevi is more then 8000 in Eskilstuna and if the racing at Ullevi is more like motocross well they don't seem to care coz they got twice as many people.

Tomcat i agree on you that the tracks normally are very slick but the isse with Krsko yesterday was that the put some new shale on and it was very loose and heavy plus over watered meaning that most of the engines couldnt cope with it. Atleast that was what the swdish commentators said. But it doesn't matter really, because i agree with you on that it was a borefest because of crap track.

I heard/read somewhere that Holta is considering to drop out of the Gps. And I do think that Freddie Lindgren can manage a top 8 since Hans A who is currently 9th doesn't seem to be going nowhere in the GPs and Freddie have a 12p margin on him.

great to hear beerceller. Gnistorna will probably win Div1 this season and their three best riders are Ricky Kling, Anton Göthberg and Christian Agö. i also would like to point out the the name of the club is mk tändstiftet (tändstift=sparkplug) and that Gnistorna is the nickname of the club.

about the track, Swedish commentators said that they put new dirt on the track about a month ago and that the new dirt is almost like pea gravel very loose and very heavy which means that the engines will struggle when the bike hits the dirt. They also said that there are rumours that Krsko might be replaced with a GP in Croatia and that the Latvian GP also was hanging loose.

Swedish tv decided to interup the broadcast to show 100m from the athletics world cup final.

tnx for telling. All should work now. I also added scores from yesterday's return meeting between Solkatterna and Örnarna. Allthough SVEMO have said earlier that both finalist will be offered a promotion to Elitserien. But now SVEMO seems to have changed their mindsa a bit isnce they have now said that they might only offer a promotion to one team if any of the current Elitserien teams would pull out. Valsarna and Solkatterna both said before the playoffs that they were intrested. However the question is if they can afford it? Valsarna made a statement to the press a few days ago that they want to drastically lower the average cap from 42.00 to 36.00 because they are a new team andwould have a hard time signing enough good riders . IMO this sounds like they have realized that Elitserien might cost them more then they expected and that they might have started to get cold feets about Elitserien. I dont know about Solkatterna they have been quite successful but their three best riders all belongs too Piraterna and without those they would only be a mid team in Allsvenskan.

I Asked Antonio LIndbäck at his websites guestbook if he knew whether he or Protasiewicz would be riding in Coventry next week but Anton hadn't heard anything about it yet.

The first of the two finalist have been decided. Valsarna advanced to the final with a total score of 103-89. With the advancement Valsarna have also qualified for next years Elitserien. The other semi final ended with a score of 53-43 in favour for Örnarna. Tonights meeting was the first meeting in that semi final and the seocnd meeting will be held tomorrow.

With several good overtakings. I especially liked Henrik Karlsson "Gollob style" overtaking when he came from behind and swept around the field on the outside along the fence. Daniel Henderson also rode very well and managed to beat Ricky Kling once and wasnt far behind the other times they met except heat 16 where Daniel fell at the end of the second lap. Robin Bergqvist showed why he is one of the best scorers in this years Division 1. Henrik Karlsson a also rode pretty well for Team Bikab while Gnistornas Ricky Kling was outstanding all night. Agö did good too but wasnt as "hot" as Kling or Daniel Henderson or Bergqvist. Jimmy Jansson is worth mentioning after a very good performance from his reserve Position one very good good passing (dont remember the heat) where he went a bot wide fooling the opponent to go wide as well while Jimmy passed him on the inside. this was just one of several good efforts tonight from "good ol' Jimmy boy" especially for a rider who quit speedway earlier this season. But when Bikab suffered from a couple of injuries Jimmy was asked to fill in for them and since things went weel he continued. Man of the match: Jimmy Jansson 14+1 (6 rides) and Ricky Kling 17 (6 rides) Most Exciting rider: Daniel Henderson i recorded a (only two laps) with my Digital Compact Camera so the picture quality is NOT particulary good. Heat 16 was stopped when Henderson fell and it was not restarted. Unfortunately there were a very horrifying crash in heat n6. Ricky Kling took the start easily and took the outside line in the first bend his team mate Anton Göthberg was close behind and selected a tighter line through the first bend. At the exit of the first bend Anton gets a "back flip" and he and the bike crashes into the fence at the beginning of the back straight, His bike bounces back out onto the mid track and Team Bikab's Göran flood who was a bit behind on the outside and he had no chance of avoiding Göthbergs bike and hits it with almost full force resulting in a severe crash for Flood as well. Both rider lied quite long on the track before they were taken of the track with ambulances. Luckily both rider escaped with any broken bones or other serious injuries even if Göran Flood was brought in to the hospital "just in case". Göthberg tried to continue the meeting and rode one heat after the crash but apparently he did not feel good enough and did not ride anymore tonight. I have to say both rider should consider themselves lucky that they escaped without more serious injuries because it looked very nasty. Gnistorna's nr 7 Krzysztof Szczawinski fell in heat 4 and id not ride anymore in the meeting but i dont know what was wrong with him and he ppeared to be ok after the crash since he walked back to the pits on his own but reports later said that he was tended by medics. ----------- for those of you who want to find out more (or order a subscription) about the new Swedish Speedway Magazine her is the link to its website: http://www.speedwayracing.se/index.html

I think that Lejonen vs. Vargarna have the possibility to be as equally good as Västervik-Vargarna, Regarding Västervik, Laguta will be back as well which means Gapinski will be riding as a reserve.

well i cant see why not? I think it can be a quite tight meeting just as the other two meetings. What meeting do you want to see? Västervik Vargarna? Elit Vetlanda Indianerna?

it works like this: Best winner meets best looser in Semi final 1 in both cases its the total score that counts regardless of wins or losses. the two other teams will meet in the other semi final.

some reports from the non tv meetings: Tai Woffinden was behind Kevin Doolan for almost 4 laps but managed to pass him on the finish line. Heat 4 between Vargarna and Västervik: Bjarne 1st Ksasprzak 2nd Doolan 3rd and Nilsson 4th. Ht 6 in Norrköping , Nicholls fell from last place at the end of lap while Västervik had 5-1 Ht 7 in Norrköping stopped b.c.o. unsatisfactory start. Ht 7 in Norrköping. stopped a 2nd time. Shields caused him and Harris to fall. ht 7 in Kumla, Lee in instead of Hougaard.
