nice to hear that you enjoyed the visit to Norrköping. If i where you. If possible i would make a trip one week later then your originally planned and visit Piraterna at Motala on the 25th of August for the meeting between Piraterna and Rospiggarna and then travel north to Eskilstuna on following wednesday (26th) for the Division 1 meeting between Team Bikab (Smederna's Division 1 team) and Stjärnorna. How ever you will need a car to be able to get from Eskilstuna to Smedstadion for the Division 1 meeting since there are no bus connection for the Div1. meetings at Smedstadion. Motala is some 150 km west of Nyköping/skavsta and some 170km southwest of Eskilstuna.

there is supposed to be 3 meetings in Allsvenskan tonight but i am pretty sure that atleast two of those; Getingarna-Hammarby (stockholm derby) and Masarna-Valsarna will be postponed due to very intensive and heavy rain which hit Sweden late y'day evening and it have rained all night and it is expected to rain all day aswell. Örnarna-Solkatterna might still be able to go ahead as planned since it haven't the rain that in taht part of the country.

Andersen Crash In Sweden.
Ghostwalker replied to From PC to KC.'s topic in International World of Speedway
i think it could be a minor hand injury. He was holding his hand when he walked back to the pit. anyhow what happened was: 1. Hans had the lead over the straight 2. Emil closes in on the outside and is equal to Hans just before the bend. 3. Emil try to pass Hans but Emil (imo) is a bit too reckless and and cuts in too narrow in front of Hans who have no where to go when Emil falls over Hans front wheel both takes a tumble, Emil is caught by the airfence and is partially stuck under it while Hans has a direct head-on input on the airfence and flies over the fence. Luckily the speed had been lowered by the airfence sop Hans got away with a scare and what i think some sort of hand injury. -
the final transfer windows this season will open on Monday and closes on the following Sunday. Since Smederna have dropped out I think there will be some new signings here are my "Predictions": Batchelor to Vargarna King to Rospiggarna Jagus to Piraterna Max to Valsarna Zorro to Indianerna Kasprzak to ?? Buczkowski i doubt he gets a new ride in Sweden Miskowiak probably no new team either. Vaculik shouldnt have any problems to find a new club. Although Indianerna have to sack one rider to be able to fit Zorro in, the same goes for Vargarna.

Ikaros Smederna Files For Bankruptcy

rumours are that SVEMO wanted to get rid of one team so that they could close the Elitleague with no team being demoted/promoted. -
Ikaros Smederna Files For Bankruptcy
Ghostwalker replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
While you cant argue against Svemo's decision regarding the Elitelicense for Smederna , you could say that its not very smart to take this decisions in the middle of the season. As it is now Smederna have dropped out from the remaining part of the season which will affect almost every other team in Elitserien since most teams will loose out on a home meeting which can be a blow to those team economy. I know Västervik had some very tight situation after last season and they will now loose some 400'000-500'000 kr on a lost home meeting. Then the riders most other teams have full teams and are not able to bring in other riders with in the 9 rider limit. IMO I'd like to refine SVEMO's decision making a bit. I would like to see a preliminary decision in the end of June notifying the teams on their situation regarding the license. This would allow the teams to try and raise that kind of money to lets say the last day in October. Reports says that Smederna managed to lower their debts from 3,75 miljoner in March to about 2 millions now so maybe Smederna would have managed to lower their debts even further if they had been able to fullfill the season. -
sorry for my "sin" but i made a new topic about this with some more detailed info in the first post.

Following several years of increasing debts Smederna today decided to file for Bankruptcy. Smederna have had financial problems for several years and while the new management led by Club President Jan Åkerviken have tried to solve the situation since he and the club beard was elected in february/march but Svemo decided last week not to approve the application for an Elitlicense. This have meant that Smederna needed urgent funds to be able to continue this season but since main sponsor Ikaros not was able to assist with more funds then they already had put in this was the only thing to do. Smederna will with immediate effect drop out of Elitserien and the riders, who want, should be able to try and find new teams in next weeks transfer window. It is those years that the debts origins from the club was governed by club president Göran Karlsson. So i really hope that his and the rest of the club board's action will be investigated thoroughly because they should not get away with this. All though that wont help Smederna it will be a warning to current and future Presidents/team managements that if you screw around you will be held responsible for it. Initial reports say that the Division 1 team, Team Bikab and the the other junior parts of the club like, the 80cc team and the Speedway Sunday School ("Sladda runt skolan") where kids between 5 and 15 are able to try speedway. Possibly we might see a similar solution like Masarna last season where the elite league went bankrupt and who's place in Allsvenskan was by their division 1 team. The bankruptcy will not affect Smederna's hometrack Smedstadion which is owned by the City of Eskilstuna.

Millenium Stadium Or Wembley Stadium ?
Ghostwalker replied to zonkers's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
well to be honest i think you should make sure that you fill the Millennium Stadium before you start talking about having a GP at Wembley. Otherwise Wembley will be like Ullevi/Gothenburg a large stadium only filled to about 1/3. -
