  2. Happy Birthday to Robert Henderson (Team Bikab) 21 y.o. today :D
  3. tonights Div1 meetings: http://www.speedway.nu/2009/todayNY.asp Direct links: Eldarna-Gasarna Filbyterna - Hultsfreds Gymnasium Aborted/cancelled (i think its because of rain). Indianerna Ungdom - Stjäronorna Team Hagfors - Team Bikab This meeting is a top clash between the nr2 (TH) and nr3 placed teams (TB). I would expect a win for Team Hagors since they are using riders that usually rides in Allsvenskan. Compared to mostly younger riders in Team Bikab. Bikab will hopefully put up a very good fight and if the Hagfors boys having a bad hair day or something like that ... Bikab might have a chance of snatching the victory. For those of you who dont already know, the nr6 rider in Team Bikab, Jacek Basinski is one of Billy Hamill's former Mechanics who now lives in Eskilstuna.
  4. weather forecasts for Saturday evening: from smhi: rain from klart.se: rain from yr.no: rain from Accuweather.com: overcast. from svt.se: rain Antonio Lindbäck is wild Card for the second time this season. more info at : http://www.scandinaviangp.com/ racers.. could you rename this thread to Scandinavian GP 2009?
  5. more news is that Masarna will have a meeting in September which they will call Avesta MASters. It will be a standard 2 team meeting with two teams consisting of riders with Masarnas as their mother club. Lineups: Team 1:Antonio Lindbäck Linus Sundström Anton Rosén Andreas Bergström Fredrik Andersson Ted Hagansbo Alexander Liljeqvist Team 2:Sebastian Aldén Eric Andersson Pontus Aspgren Dennis AnderssonRobin Bergqvist Andreas Westlund Alexander Söderholm
  6. at least some good news regarding teams in Sweden. Former SPeedway team Nässjö have decided to re-start their speedway team. They have a vision to be in allsvenskan within 4 years. They will refurbish their arena which will cost some 100'000 (~£8400GBP) + airfence i would believe. http://www.hogland.nu/?option=com_content&...30&Itemid=2
  7. oh it has been questioned before! Are you really that old that you already have forgotten :P he controversies two years ago when Lejonen managed to win the allsvenska playoff final against Valsarna ?' They managed to complete the first meeting with noproblems but for the second meeting they were affected by rain and had to abort the meeting before all heats had been run. Most poeple though Valsarna had won but the rules said that the results from the 1st meeting should be counted after all 16 heats and not at the point where the 2nd meeting had been aborted. anyway can anyone see anything wrong with this picture? (click for larger).: ist a screenshot of the current Elitserien table at speedwa.nu
  8. there is some questions regarding the meeting between Lejonen and Dackarna since the first meeting was aborted after 12 heats the bonus meeting should have been counted after 12 heats in this meeting. However there are no reports about a "bonus heat" since the total score for both meetings after tonight's heat 12 is 33+39- 39+33 (72-72). Now some people claim that the second meeting's score should be counted after 16 heats which seem very unfair for the visiting team. But i wouldn't be surprised SVEMO is know for making stupid rules like this.
  9. A narrow loss with 8p (52-44) for Vargarna who thereby just misses out on the opportunity to end the Pirates narrow hope of Playoff.
  10. just watched the tv meeting and i cant see it was particularly exciting. A Few good heats in the end but otherwise nothing special. The tv meeting two weeks ago between Indianerna and Västervik is still the best meeting i have seen this season. Pirates still have a very slim chance of making the playoffs but it is very slim and if Vargarna just manages to bring the bonus point home from tonight's meeting the playoff teams should be pretty much fixed.
  11. during the Interval between heat 10 and 11 OrangeSport usually shows football.
  12. nah i turned it on around 19.10 and it was first soccer and the windsurfing but its speedway now.
  13. after some speculations about why Nicki is at nr4 the conclusion is that the nr4 rider is the only one who have 4 heats during the 12 first heats. This isn't normally that important BUT the first meeting between Dackarna and Lejonen this season had to be aborted after 12 heats so the result for the bonus point will be counted after heat 12 tomorrow.
  14. surely there is no need for 3 british rider at Cardiff? with "My lineup" you'll have one on a permanent WC (lee) + 1 local WC (British champ).
  15. This years Robins Race will be held at Saturday August 29th (3 weeks from today) at Smedstadion. The following riders will race this year:Jonas Messing, RospiggarnaBilly Forsberg, GasarnaLudvig Lindgren, DackarnaNiklas Larsson, Hultsfreds GymnasiumRobin Aspegren, ValsarnaJeremia Thelaus, SolkatternaKim Nilsson, GriparnaAnders Mellgren, Elit VetlandaJonas Andersson, VargarnaRobin Bergqvist, Team BikabAndreas Messing, GetingarnaDennis Andersson, ÖrnarnaDavid Rohlén, IndianernaRobin Törnqvist, Valsarna prices: new JAWA Motor 500cc PricemoenyPricemoneyPricemoney more information : http://www.ikarossmederna.nu/?page=news&newsid=1324 official website is currently malfunctioning
  16. i dont like it but that doesnt mean it dont happened coz it does. And compared to "Real" work life the standard age of retirement is 65 y.o. and those who are over 60 rarely gets a new job because they are considred too old so i dont see how BSI/IMg couldnt do the same with those who are a year or two away from retiring from speedway. Do you really want to see a GP series that would look like this (exaggerated) : 01. Crump 02. Nicki 03. Greg 04. Gollob 05. Adams 06. Holta 07. Ulamek 08. Zorrro 09. PK 10. AJ 11. Hans A 12. Nicholls 13. Lindgren 14. Bjerre 15. Harris 16. Local WC
  17. you recently complained about the lack of re-newing in the GPs and still want to see pensioners qualify to the gps. If we want to get fresh blood into the GPs then the likes of Zorro, Holta, Ulamek, PK, Max etc shouldnt be allowed to stand in the way. Zorro would be not be a good addition to the GP series. Ulamek &Adams really struggles this year and compared to those how would Zorro do?
  18. yes but ther is a BIG difference between Greg who have been the in GP series for maybe 15-20 years and someone like Zorro. I think there is something wrong when "oldies" like Zorro, PK etc tries to qualify for the GPs. They dont bring any addition to the GPs and should know to step aside for younger riders, the GPs series does not need another bunch of old boys riders in the GPs. The same goes for Holta if he misses out on this years top 8, then he should realize that his time as GP rider have come to an end and accept that he no longer have what it takes to be in the gps. I'd much rather see someone like Antonio Lindbäck or Jurica Pavlic or Chris Holder in the GP series then someone like Zorro or Holta or Ulamek.
  19. well what's the point of someone like Zorro trying to get in the GP series? or PK? They aren't an especially good addition to the gp series. Lets say Zorro won a place in the GPs by finishing top 3 in the GP challenge and someone like Miedzinski or Pavlic or Bogdanovs or Hampel would finish 4th and miss a spot in the Gps just because a 38 year old wants a try in the GPs. Zorro shouldnt be in the GP Challenge if the riders themselves dont get it well then someone will have to make them understand. About the other stuff well i dont want to have the history to repeat itself every year when 2 of the 4 WC are the same as last year and the year before (like Nicholls/Harris) especially when there are other riders t hat are better (like Richardson/Hampel).
  20. he havent been paid by Solkatterna for about 3 meetings so Daniel will refuse to ride until he have been paid for those. i think Piraterna owes him money too but i am not sure.
  21. i dont like that suggestion because its hard enough as it is for the new riders to establish themselves in the GP series and if you would change 12 of the 15 riders for each season it could mean allot of new riders each year and the new riders usually dont ride as good the first season as the experienced riders. One thing to do would to do a swap so that the 4 finalist in the GP challenge gets a place in the GPs and then only 3 WC picks. Also put an age limit on the WCs and GP Qualification. Lets say 35 years of age? Also add a new limit of the amount of permanent WCs a rider can get in a row.
