A number of teams are going to struggle with replacing riders this season with the travel limitations. When Len Silver was interviewed at Eastbourne he was quite strong on the fact that Kent Kings would be loyal to riders. Starke and Nicholls was impressive at Arlington but the Kings were always going to be one of the weaker teams in the Championship and Poole one of the stronger as long as the Cooks were up to speed.

The old rolling average conundrum. Hopefully a run of fixtures will help him find some form.
-
Checking the Speedway Star and it has averages listed as : Lawson 9.63 Lewi Kerr 8.67 Tom Brennan 7.00 Drew Kemp 6.67 Kyle Newman 6.67 Edward Kennett 5.60 Jason Edwards 4.94 Poole are making changes with Zane Keleher heading around the South Coast to Plymouth to take advantage of his higher average. Could Kennett ride at reserve or is that not possible with new reserve system. Did read that only 7 riders in Premiership are not doubling up ; so for any club considering changes due to injury or loss of form there is not a great deal of option.

EASTBOURNE V EDINBURGH June 12th

Could Eagles have used Jake Knight at reserve ???? -
Such sad news. Condolences to family + friends. An opinionated + passionate Promoter for speedway across the South. RIP Jon Cook

Considering the loyal following that speedway has and the tendency of the supporters to be keen on stats and statistics I am surprised a game like football manager has never really taken off. I appreciate that the sport will never have the following of Moto GP or FIFA on various consoles but I believe a Speedway game in the Football Manager format could of worked and be well received. The mobile game Speedway Challenge has a lot of the graphics and ideas right. Purchase bikes, equipment, vans etc but if you could train and develop the riders that would be an excellent improvement.

Does anyone have a blank SGP racecard or British Final Card link - want to do a virtual Sussex Championship to entertain the kids -
RIP Danny .. Such a sad sad day. Condolences to his family and friends. True entertainer on the bike - always gave it 100% even in his NL days. Such a shame.

Riders to improve in 2020.?
Hackett replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
PREMIER - Lidsey - Douglas - Kildemand Championship - Kemp - Flint - Nicol NATIONAL - Thompson Twins + Ablitt -
Drew Kemp was excellent as a guest and opposition rider in the National League at Arlington. Hopefully the OZ Adventure will mean he can start the season in good form and build his confidence from the start. Edwards will need to develop but if he can pick up 4/5 points at home that will be an excellent achievement. Tom Brennan + Kyle Newman give the second strings a solid look.

At those odds - Woffinden / Sayfutdinov . Janowski to make top 3 ....

Opportunity to now buy SpeedwayGB merchandise - bobble hats, pit t-shirts and polo shirts. Other merchandise to follow.

"I can say now, for 100% that we will have the Grand Prix outside of Europe" - Armando Castagna, FIM Track Racing director. Discovery Communications with their Eurosport brand will take over the SGP series in 2022 as a ten year deal with FIM #speedway #SGP #SGP2022

Nicol looks an excellent signing. Possibly one of the most sort after riders in CL on that average. Decent first signing. Should out 2pts on that average.
-
Nicholls needs a club that doesn't ride Saturdays - Lives on South Coast. Morley won't be used by Eagles - but could be an option at Kent. Plus could Lawson be an option ??
-
Can see Morris going to Eastbourne - Was excellent at #1 on the Northern tour and was given guest appearance for the Birmingham fixture...
-
Now that Poole are likely to join the CL - I would think that the Pirates will have first option as it is his parent club and on his doorstep unless new manager / Dark Lord of Wimborne Road decide they want him in the team. Tom Brennan will be back I would imagine Eagles will announce after the AGM once team averages are announced.

“The big thing with Speedway sometimes is having a bit of security.” Jason Edwards says feeling a sense of belonging at Eastbourne will help him develop at a quicker rate - and the Eagles plan to include him in their 2020 side. So it states in Speedway Star. So if correct that is one of the reserve slots covered.

Eagles - As a return to "professional" speedway this season has been a success for Eastbourne. The crowds have been fairly stable in terms of numbers and the meetings have been sped up as the promotion has looked to complete a meeting in under 2 hrs. Despite the NL success for the Eagles the racing was never the most exciting apart from an odd heat 13-15 race , however the standard of racing and excitement has increased significantly in the CL. Arlington as a track is not the most exciting on the planet BUT it is the only speedway within 75 mins from my Surrey home - so long may it continue.
-
Whose pit-board went for the largest amount on sat night ?!?
-
Will all depend on the format of the league and the team averages. At Arlington this season the usual heat-leaders - Schlein, Ellis, Worrall etc have scored well - Broc Nicol was excellent but likely to be touted by most teams in PL + CL. Riders under the radar that could be options - Anders Rowe was excellent down at reserve for Somerset. Ellis Perks' has previous at Arlington and was certainly a far better rider than he was at the NL and can gate could be a snip on his average. Other options could be Ricky Wells who has a history of riding small tracks well after all those years at Monmore and Josh Pickering did a decent job on a couple of occasions.
-
If there is no major change to league set up - one league ... think Eagles will stick to their word.
-
As a number of teams have 2020 topics already - seems to be a good time to consider the Eagles options for next season. Already announcing after the final meeting on Saturday that Lewis Kerr and Kyle Newman will remain with Arlington side subject to agreement with their parent clubs, and confirmation of the overall league structure of the sport next year. Certainly those two riders would of been the first two names on my team sheet. Kerr has been excellent this season and is certainly a fans favourite. Newman has been excellent and has offered stability to the side and got better as the season has gone on. It is probably just a matter of time before Tommy Brennan is announced ; now that he is back on the bike. Depending on the average limit It would be a surprise if they didn't go for Edwards having offered him a couple of months to gain experience at Championship level.

Prefer racesuits think they look more professional and with Connor Dugard and JCProracewear its a win win.
-
Good to hear Lewi Kerr and Newman will return. Kerr has been excellent all season and scored solidly all season. Certainly a fans favourite. Newman has offered stability to the team and scored steadily and improved meeting by meeting. This season the Eagles got the make up of the team wrong with 3 reserves and a too top heavy. This is a decent start for 2020 with no doubt Tom Brennan to follow.
