Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

They wouldn't be if it was run and promoted in the correct way.. but that's another debate. -

Race on days that are uneconomic! Hahaha! That's precisely what they are doing now. -

Correct he owes nobody anything. Chris Van Straaten will tell you he owes British Speedway nothing so he doesn't need 'asking'. Quite what Matt Ford has to do with it, who knows but I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel 'owed'. Now we know you have views that are, to put it mildy, bordering on xenophobic and racist, but the reality is, slavery doesn't exist anymore. Woffinden isn't 'owned' by anyone. -

Exactly.. so when he decides who he wants to be World Champion.. you will do as you're told. That's the model Trees wants! -

She has no clue who the backers of One Sport are. As for Emil, I feel for the lad. He's grown up with a dream of being World Speedway Champion and I'm pretty sure that's still what he wants to be.. however, he's clearly being 'leaned on' to put it nicely not to ride in it... which brings us back to my opening line. -

Incorrect. Do you think they pay big money in Denmark? Or in the Czech and German leagues that some riders will ride in? The biggest beef with riders is the schedule, as it would be with anyone in their position. One night a week racing, Woffinden would be racing here. As would Hancock. When your views are xenophobic and racist, as yours are, they are redundant. We all know your beef. We all know why you rant as you do, indeed you stormed off the forum for some time the last time you were on here ranting when the truth was pointed out. Some riders have the ability to cut the mustard, others don't. You should actually be happy, the more of these riders don't ride here, the more places open up for riders of lesser ability. -

It does say it all. Just not in the way you think it does. It says just how poorly run the sport is in this country. So? Tai raced in Britain last year, he isn't this. It's his choice. Simple. -

Which other main nation has fixtures on 5 different nights of the week spread haphazardly throughout the season? -

I'm afraid you will find I am not ranting, that's your mantle. Still got that chip on your shoulder about Aussie riders I see. What you would prefer is no Aussies are allowed so sub standard riders can populate the teams instead.. correct? -
I would suggest its to do with two teams not giving an inch and going for it on a race track that allows them to do so.. So no, the track doesn't need 'sorting out' at all.
-
So essentially Eastbourne has the biggest differential between home performance and away... followed by Poole.

If we organised our leagues in the right way there wouldn't be the issue in the first place. -

The only people on here with any hint of suggestion we shouldn't be picking Tai are those with agendas. Either they don't like Tai, they don't like Aussies or they don't like GP's. In one case its likely all three. -
Just to add here.. I have no issue with WK wanting a competitive 2nd half.. so simply do 15 heats and a 2nd half.
-
No, I stated most people aren't interested in response to WK's assertion that 13 heats and a 2nd half is somehow better.
-
I'm afraid WK what you are doing here is utterly destroying the myth of how much higher the standard was back in the old days. You see back in those days you could have a junior rider, not in a team anywhere, race against team members in 2nd halves and often beat them. That simply wouldn't happen now.. even with fast track riders at reserve in the EL, you're not going to have a kid from the MDL beat them. As for some junior getting anywhere near a 2nd string rider (which in the old days was quite possible).. it simply wouldn't happen now, they'd be miles behind. The race would be utterly pointless and nobody with a brain would be interested in watching it. As for your argument of 'seeing more races'..... a few people might see more.. but the MAJORITY wouldn't as they wouldn't be watching a meaningless 2nd half. They'd be on their way home, short changed even more after only seeing 13 heats of their team in action.
-
I won't because you're wrong. Juniors riding after a meeting has absolutely nothing to do with the main meeting being over 13 heats or 15 heats. Indeed, there are a number of teams that have junior races after meetings, others run Development league teams too. You advocate there being less heats in a meeting.. people think its poor value for money as it is!!
-
Ah the good old second halves.. that AT LEAST 75% of the crowd had gone home and didn't watch. Once again you're digging up a relic of a bygone relic. "2nd halves" as you like to remember them were gone. Riders weren't interested in them, hence they were dropped and junior racing took its place. Clubs can still run junior racing now if they wish, nothing has changed there. So no its not correct. The mere notion of suggesting cutting league matches 2 heats short is nothing but absolute insanity.
-
Yeah, that's good.. 2 heats less. Marvellous.

They don't have any rules. However, their policy is not to pick players based in France as they aren't available for all the training days.. it isn't a hard and fast rule however and if someone was well above the level of the others, they would be selected. As there aren't any 'training days' and Woffinden is head and shoulders above the rest that policy is irrelevant. As for last team to win anything of note, I assume you mean the World Cup, when no such policy was in place....not only that, the hero of said World Cup was Johnny Wilkinson, who funnily enough was still picked for England even after he moved to the French League. So, nice try but your argument falls down on every level. The only funny post was your opening one. -

My comment was in jest. Trees used the fact she could see tracks as some kind of damning evidence. You see tracks on pretty much every speedway track! -

Tyre tracks on a speedway track? Unbelievable, never seen that before.... -
No problem, I didn't know till SCB pointed it out. Why the stick for bech for last night, paid 9 from 4?
