  1. Just trying to think who could be available. Could we have another try for James Shanes? Think he may have to be number 6 now with his Premiership average. Try to persuade JPB back at number 7. Only others I can think of for 6 are Liam Carr, Jan Graversen or Richard Hall at 6.
  2. Anyone know how long Rob Branford is likely to be out, and who is replacing him Thursday (if not fit by then)?
  3. Not sure BSPA got it wrong. With points limit reduced to 40, new NL riders coming in at 2 points, and the potential JPB had shown, I think Sheffield would have wanted him, even if a two pointer was not compulsary. Also think JPB would have progressed if he had stuck with the Tigers, but good luck to him, whatever he does.
  4. Newcastle home match now arranged for August 17th.
  5. Branford missed last night's match for Rye House with a shoulder injury. Seem to recall hearing a few weeks ago was riding with an injury. Wonder if this is the problem.
  6. Depends if we want good speedway or a 75 _ 0 victory
  7. Would be nice if they got together and put the same information (preferably correct) on both websites. But this is speedway.
  8. A lovely Thursday night, a backlog of matches, and no speedway at Owlerton. Really wonder. Now 10 weeks since Edinburgh match called off, and still no re-staging date. I believe that both Scunny and Workington, when they had a match rained off, arranged a new date the same day, and rode it next date. Why are Sheffield unable to re-arrange a match??? It has to be done so do it. Also 5 weeks since we went through to KOC semi, 1 week since Redcar called off, and no sign of any news for re-staging dates. Should be getting on with it a bit more. There can be no guarantees that there will not be any more post-poned. Beginning to look like there is no attempt to get matches staged before play off deadines. Only match that appears to have been re-arranged is the Ipswich match for Sunday 10 September, which according to Sheffield website starts at 5.30, but Ipswich say it starts at 7.30. Fed up of waiting and trying to leave my dates free so I can get to Owlerton. I really will consider after many decades of following them, making this my last year.
  9. Just checked greyhound website and on Monday they have afternoon races with the last one starting at 6.18pm so Monday night speedway seems impractical
  10. Thought it was Kerr moving to 1 Auty to 3 and Palm_Toft to 5. Not sure if Kerr is fit after his crash.
  11. Presumably the promoters aware of this when they publish the reserved dates.
  12. Correct about the 2 free dates hopefully Edinburgh and Newcastle will be fitted in on those days
  13. Would have thought SWC dates were known well in advance. Surely the stadium owners must let speedway promoters know dates stadium not available.
  14. 9 weeks ago home cup match V Edinburgh called off. This was ridden 01 June, by re-designating the scheduled league fixture against Edinburgh, meaning league fixture still outstanding. The May 18th home match V Ipswich off, re-scheduled for Sunday September 10th. June 8th home V Newcastle off, no new date announced. Due to cup progression another Ipswich fixture to be arranged. Thursday 06 July was a reserved date but appears there will be no match. Two reserved dates in August so hoping that Newcastle and Edinburgh get arranged for these two dates, and no more call offs. Seems ironic that the only re-arranged date is Ipswich, league, which would be more difficult to arrange as both Thursday tracks. Does anyone know what is the preferred alternate race night? I believe it was Monday, but that was when Machin was in charge so this may have changed. Also what are the cut off dates for the play offs and cup semis. I know BT are scheduled to show promotion relegation play off early October, so would have thought around mid September for play offs. Thanks
  15. Per current BBC weather forecast, light rain to 10 AM then dry but cloudy. If it is off think they will make an early call. Hope they will make the effort to get it on, as we already have 3 matches to arrange, and another from a Thursday track would be a problem.
  16. Nielsen not fit to return (yet). Aarnio staying.
  17. Current BBC forecast for Sheffield not showing much rain Thursday
  18. Nothing announced yet (still awaiting a re-arrangement date for a match called off 9 weeks ago so do not expect anything soon). Not helped by us both riding predominantly on Thursdays.
  19. Thanks for the information. Any idea what is happening regarding the outstanding fixtures?
  20. Now seems unlikely that Shanes will be coming to Sheffield. Just looked at NL averages, and there does not appear to be too many options, who could get a few decent points at Championship level. Just hope JPB can be persuaded back. I think given time he can change his fortunes around. Also think it would be good for him to have a team manager, like Stead, who can pass on good advice to him. Speaking personally, I would be grateful if the Sheffield promoters, gave us some idea about when the outstanding fixtures to be arranged may be taking place. Seem quick to make the call off, but now nearly 10 weeks since the Edinburgh match called off, and still nothing announced. I believe we now have 3 outstanding, Ipswich, cup, and Newcastle and Edinburgh league. Keep hearing about the advantages of early call off, but are there not equally, good reasons, to get them re-arranged quickly (before fans may have decided to do something else on that date). I have just noticed today that the reserved date of 6 July 2017, has been removed from the fixtures. Wonder what it was reserved for, if not to stage a match rained off, or an extra fixture due to cup progression. A bit of goodwill in letting us know would be appreciated.
  21. Actually, per the website it is £2.00 more when it is a championship, national league double header. Most of the double header's do not involve National League teams, as they did in the past. Probably still not too bad value for the extra £2.00 if you are staying, but if not, increased admission, for nothing extra.
  22. Now just seen websites for both teams. Scunny have Chris Widman listed as their number 7, Sheffield say it is David Wallinger. Not sure why they differ. Is David still unfit after Sunday's crash? Thanks Rob, was typing post before your answer came up.
