Eurosport Take Swedish League
RS50 replied to remembertheracers's topic in International World of Speedway
Will it be shown on British Eurosport? Hope so. -
The racecard may cost a little to produce, but I would assume that it also creates revenue from the advertisements on it (possibly leaving the management in profit). On the website today, encouraging the purchase of season tickets, the link to the page giving information clearly states a racecard is included whether you have a season ticket, or pay on the day. Can anyone confirm, but I seem to remember, several years ago there was a monthly magazine on sale at the track shop.
-
Looks like good team, good track, looking forward to the announcement about what the first match will be, (and we still get the free racecard).
-
Do you really think anyone would pay £300.00 per meeting?
-
With a season ticket, should get a minimum of 19 matches, the opening friendly, 14 league, 3 league cup and 1 KOC match. Obviously no guarantee of further progression in any competition. However, with new management it is not easy to predict what else (if anything we may get). With Neil Machin you knew he was always keen to run a young guns. I think a little more information would be appreciated. Also this year are there any perks, such a Tiger Tokens?
-
Per website this includes racecard.
-
Just heard season tickets on sale at £300.00 (£235.00 for over 65's). Not sure if you get Tiger tokens or half price car parking this year.
-
Not sure if you are referring to the Cheltenham Gold Cup horse race, but if you are why would an event 150 miles away, and a different sport, make any effect?
-
Did hear those names mentioned before the take over.

In case anyone has not noticed, Sheffield's away fixture on 26 May 2014, has now been put back to 15 August. Pity, as I was going to the original fixture, can not get to the re-arranged one. Does make you wonder, only early February and fixture changes already. Also for anyone else planning to go original date, why has the anonymous management not drawn attention to it (yes I have just seen it on the fixtures, but for those of us who noted them in diaries, and have assumed no change would be helpful).
-
How about suggestions for the opening match. I would suggest a team of opponents who are ex Sheffield riders. How about, 1 Rory Schlein 2 Hugh Skidmore 3 Ricky Wells 4 Ash Birks 5 Josh Auty 6 Ben Wilson 7 Simon Lambert.
-
Why would you want to?
-
Could be. http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/SPORT/10953048.Robins_searching_for_a_new_reserve_as_Bates_moves_on/ . Suggests Sheffield will not be persuing Morris, but are interested in Lanham and Poole. Anyone know what average Poole would come in on?. Could Lanham Poole Compton and Albin be last 4.
-
I think it is reasonable to assume both Sky and the Speedway authorities know something, but neither prepared to tell us. Does not inspire me to give my money to either.
-
Just going slightly off topic, but looking at the fixtures we have some "open" and some "reserved" fixtures. Can some one tell me what is the difference between open and reserved.
-
Hopefully we will not have to worry about the quality of signings either.
-
Has the Morris deal fell through? The following team seems to be within the points limit. 1 Stead 2 Compton 3 Roynon 4 Palm-Toft 5 Morris 6 Albin 7 Koppe
-
I know the fixtures are not out yet, but can anyone tell me if Scunny will be running double headers on Easter, Spring Bank and August bank holiday Mondays. Thanks
-
Well if they know now, why not tell us. I would love to understand what they think they gain by keeping us in the dark.
-
I believe it would be about 1 point too high (going on final averages from BSPA last published averages)

Motors TV? No Thanks Saw some American speedway some years ago on Motors. Could have been better covered if someone filmed with it with a mobile phone,
-
Was not impressed enough with him when he rode for Team GB last year to include him at such a high average.

In an article in the local paper on 20 December Stead said "We want to create a successful team and get the buzz back at Owlerton on Thursday nights" .
