  1. Guess a lot will depend on whether Belle Vue, Isle of Wight and any others get accepted into the NL And whether Cradley and any others drop out. Aren't we at least another month away from finding out at the AGM?
  2. I just have a computer and internet connection......seem to do OK.
  3. Quite right. I know the current Father of the House Gerald Kaufman has been a big supporter of Belle Vue, which is in his constituency, both in the battle for survival after Hyde Road and in the planning of the new national stadium. And Coventry need their local politicians more than ever to stop Brandon falling and being replaced by houses.
  4. eh? Jason Doyle will be in demand because the points limit is too high! It's a good job some fans aren't on the BSPA committee
  5. Sorry, but your idea is quite barmy. No they wouldn't. You're proposing a 4TT so every club gets 3 times as many away meetings as home ones. Financially 4TTs are a disaster as you have to pay your riders for 3 away meetings out of just 1 home gate. You're proposing 16 heats instead of 15 so more costs. you're proposing 20 riders instead of 14 per meeting, so more costs. 4TTs don't provide team racing. You would ride oponents an unequal amount of times, and it would be riding the same opponents around 10 times per season. quite mad!
  6. That's got to be a wind up. Sarjeant and Bates? When Wolves have Howarth and Clegg? Somebody definitely trying to wind you up.
  7. Swindon say the have Charles Wright as one of their reserve and are "studying the averages and rider availability" for the other reserve berth....So has there been a draft or is it just a free for all?
  8. Gustix is. Not sure about the prganosation.
  9. Can you get them on the National Health?
  10. As today is to ratify the rules, and rumour has it that the likes of Ben Barker, Richie Worrall, Kyle Howarth etc could be added to the draft, I reckon there could still be a fair bit of arguing to do today before they can even consider doing the draft picks
  11. Louis Walsh has just paid £20k to be a guest judge at an x-factor dress rehearsal.
  12. I'd rather take a bet that neither list is published. I imagine they'll publish the FTR list on the day that the draft takes place, but can't see the heat leader list being published at all.
  13. Think the Elite League actually had to reduce to 36 points. But at the 1.5 conversion rate at the time this equated to approx 54 PL points against PL teams with averages of 42ish
  14. But it's not. The nominations are chosen by a BBC panel, not the public. The public only get to chose from the shortlist at the end. The chances of getting Tai on the shortlist are slim to none. Though that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. If enough fans bombard the BBC panel and make them aware of Tai, it can only do good. I doubt there's any chance of him reaching the shortlist, but he probably will get a 5 second mention in "our other British world champions". If we can raise awareness of his achievements (including charity work) we might get that up to a 30 second mention....and 30 seconds of primetime BBC is quite valuable.
  15. i'd assume it means buying the stadium. But buying the leasehold, but not the freehold. i.e. he buys the stadium and all its buildings, but not the land it stands on. (The land is leased for a period of time - typically 99 years, and in this case seemingly until 2035, at a nominal ground rent).
  16. Coventry v Eastbourne 1 Liam Carr 2 Rob Shuttleworth 3 Mark Baseby 4 Darryl Ritchings 5 Martin Knuckey 6 Callum Walker 7 Conor Dwyer 1 Bradley Wilson-Dean 2 Georgie Wood 3 Marc Owen 4 Daniel Spiller 5 Ben Hopwood 6 Kelsey Dugard 7 Richard Andrews Coventry v Mildenhall 1 Liam Carr 2 Rob Shuttleworth 3 Mark Baseby 4 Darryl Ritchings 5 Martin Knuckey 6 Jamie Halder 7 Conor Dwyer 1 Danny Ayres 2 Tom Bacon 3 Connor Mountain 4 Jack Kingston 5 Connor Coles 6 Ben Basford 7 Luke Ruddick
  17. What average does David Gordon's favourite rider Nicki Pedersen come back into British speedway on?
  18. Wrong. The Speedway Regulations state that the National Development League "is the entry level league dedicated to the training and development of young home grown riders"
  19. Tai Woffinden, Nicki Pedersen, Chris Holder, Niels Iversen, Chris Harris etc etc are a right bunch of nobodies aren't they? How can it be described as a major event? Surprised they have sold out the grandstand 12 months in advance with such nonentities. Could work to their benefit if people want to make a weekend of top international speedway followed by the city's football derby
  20. Bad decision. Harris was riding his own race and had no idea Janowski was there.
  21. Good to see that Shovvy is out. Hope they let Jerran Hart out next.
  22. Hans would never get up to 88mph to go back to the future
  23. True. We need someone like SCB on the case (The forum SCB not THE SCB). He can work out the stats and the BSPA can copy that and pretend they did it That wouldn't make any sense as you'd have doubling up second-strings Ricky Wells (5.91) and Sam Masters (5.60) as heat leaders, and proven heat leaders Hans Andersen (6.45) and Troy Batchelor (6.91) as second strings
