  1. The BSPA have once again showed their jealousy of the National Speedway stadium and given them the British Final on the 19th June & Premiership Riders Championship 16th September. What an absolute disgrace the BSPA are
  2. There's nothing worse than someone telling me what I'm watching live at a stadium
  3. http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/news.php?extend.2991 This should really spice up an already exciting race track adding a little banking
  4. Absolutely, there's not a team in the UK that wouldn't mind Cook in their side. It's not just Belle Vue he gives everything for. His time at Edinburgh and short spell at Peterborough was 100% effort all the time. Any guest bookings taken 100% commitment for the cause. Not very often you'll hear "Cook just trundling around at the back". If there was 1 unfortunate thing with Cook, it's the fact he came into the sport so late. Had he started out 3-4 years earlier he'd be right up there. Even now, he's playing catch-up in terms of gaining experiences on the continent.
  5. Just proves how bad DG & Mort were at running a Speedway business if the threat of the sky contract was what made them run. Pay £1000's on temp facilities and rack up massive debts because of the BSPA & Sky heard it all now.
  6. Cracking sponsor if it is them though, even for a year or 2.
  7. A great number of riders will still be running older engines. I'd say the sale of the Gerhard would be pretty poor to start, but throughout the season when the JAWA & GM's start going bang is when the Gerhard sales will pick up. Especially if the sealed Gerhard is performing well across all British leagues.
  8. Except it makes no sense at all. If a rider rides all fixtures in both league the championship has more fixtures due to the number of teams. Are you really saying that the said rider should ride for the Championship club automatically, having not missed a meeting and is a club asset of the Premiership team? Is that really fair?!?!
  9. I'm a little confused with regards to clubs not selling British Final tickets. I was totally unaware that this happens anyway. I can't remember King's Lynn ever advertising the sale of tickets for this event or any other BSPA event not held at the AFA?!?
  10. The green & yellow was carried over from the Norwich Stars as that was the City colours. The reason of back luck to change to blue and yellow was in jest. The actual reason, the same as the Norwich Stars is that the blue & yellow are the colours of the town.
  11. Of course not but any other council DG/CM would have been laughed out the building. The MCC are the only council that puts full backing behind sporting ventures outside of London
  12. nonsense, there is not one other council in the country that would spend that kind of money. I'd pretty much say Manchester is the sporting capital in the uk which has been fully backed from the MCC.
  13. What absolute bullocks. Manchester City Council financed the project. The amount of finances Gordon & Morton put in would have got exactly what other promoters could afford. Other city/town councils have far less disposable finances for these type of projects
  14. Tony Rice looks like a man with his hands in a lot of pies and certainly not short of capital. Robin Southwell isn't short of a bob or two either. Looks like the perfect match to take the Belle Vue project forward without any threats to it's future at all Only positives can come out of this and this pair will certainly rattle Ford's cage. Belle Vue are back Well done Buster in getting shot of the previous pair of calamity morons
  15. It's all there, Riders, BSPA, SCB, other promotions, etc.
  16. I would expect the situation to have been resolved during the lease agreement I will pay you £xxxxx for a 15 year lease but £xxxxx will be deducted to pay outstanding debts + the BSPA fine waivered. Hence Bates was only willing to buy the promotion rights when all debts are cleared
  17. If you watched the Facebook videos he said it was his own money, nothing to do with the BSPA
  18. I have been pretty vocal on how he neglected his own club last season but changes have been made to fix that. KC always kept saying judge him on 2017 as it's when he gets his hands fully on the job. Credit where it's due, no previous chairman has put so much effort in trying to save clubs even plunging his own money into keeping Leicester alive clearing debts. There will be haters but Keith Chapman absolute deserves praise for his dealings over this closed season
  19. You would have thought so but the Swindon management seem gullible to what they're being told.
  20. I'm not sure how a shared No7 will work as it doesn't seem part of the regulations as no other club has taken up that option. If that was a rule to do that the better rider's would have been sucked up already by the bigger clubs.
  21. Not really, the issue was selling to Sandhu in the first place. Believing that he was going to build a brand new stadium was foolish. He'd always admitted he purchased the land for housing. When that didn't come to fruition he just sold it to an invisible business to try and build houses so it's much of a muchness really. Brandon Estates honoured the lease for Stox & Speedway to continue for an extra 3 seasons so they haven't really done an awful lot wrong themselves. There does need to be some serious investigative work done though to find if there is a connection between Sandhu & Brandon Estates as that would change everything.
  22. HC is correct if you believe everything that the Stox were saying. Horton was due to take the stadium lease in January. From that point Stox were to have an agreement with Horton to run Stox's Previous to this Stox announced they'd negotiated the stadium lease fees & team sponsorship package for Horton & the Coventry Bees with Brandon Estates Stox also agreed to contribute towards the stadium running costs Stox also stated on 3 occasions as they were just about to sign the agreement with Horton, Horton wanted to change the T's & C's Numerous time the local councillor had to negotiate with Horton & Stox Agreements reached then not etc Brandon Estates only became part of the issue when Sandhu took his toys Thus making it impossible for Horton to sign the stadium lease with Brandon Estates.
