  1. Why is the riders name needed to be hidden from the report? He's been proven to have made the correct decision so it's not like it's an issue to be named
  2. While this is true I believe there has been cases of individual council bosses taking people to court.
  3. And they've realise their mistake and happily now watch Cradley at Wolverhampton.
  4. It's extremely disappointing that Coventry fans are insisting it's Brandon or nothing. It's 30mins down the road!?! If King's Lynn were in the same predicament and had to go to Peterborough I don't think many Stars fans would have a problem with that. If the Bees get a lifeline of survival and the fans turn their back on it then I'm afraid you'd be as responsible for the closure of the club than anyone else. if it's a 6-12 month solution it has to be backed by the supporters
  5. There's always a positive to any negative I suppose It would be a temporary solution until the current stadium issues get resolved I should imagine. If the stadium issues can't be resolved then Coventry would be finished from 2018. If there's hope of a club continuing all avenues should be considered & used.
  6. Promoter not promoters. Dave Darcy doesn't want the Bee's at Leicester but it's not his decision. Buster is the owner of Leicester Speedway and if Coventry are homeless it'll be his decision & his only regardless of Darcy's opinion.
  7. no because the engines will be factory sealed. If the seal is tampered with then they'll not be permitted for use in the British league
  8. I'm in no way a fan of the Horton's in Speedway but that statement from Brandon Estates tells me Horton has been stitched up. What happened to Brandon Estates not saying anything until the Police investigation is completed? Funny how this has come out a day after the BSPA say Coventry have until Friday!! It stinks of conspiracy and it wouldn't at all surprise me if from Friday when Horton has to declare the Bees won't be running that all the fixtures & fittings required to run just Stox start to reappear.
  9. Why "Oh dear"? perfectly reasonable question to ask and Phil answered it
  10. So, I assume that this Speedway Star exclusive is in the defence of Morton & Gordon if MCC have raised some objections?
  11. Well, I find that concerning. Small steps being made yet they have only 3 days to confirm their position. Time clearly running out so now big steps are required
  12. Personally believe British Speedway is very much alive. I couldn't care less that "The big names" are leaving. I can see British riders coming through the system into the to league a lot faster than ever before and that's more important imo. I couldn't care less if my team has GP riders or not as long as the 7 selected give full commitment. Club are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to admissions. 800 paying adults at £18 is £14,400 per meeting plus a number of clubs (rightful so) have kids go free If clubs took admission down to £12 you'd have to find an extra 400 full paying adults to just match the consistent £18 admission prices, with marketing that'll still be some challenge.
  13. Out of interest, apart from Belle Vue & Leicester how do you think the league table will look of nobody has to make changes? Here's mine 1. King's Lynn 2. Poole 3. Wolves 4. Rye House 5. Coventry 6. Swindon 7. Somerset
  14. Jeremy Heaver, Avtar Sandhu, Mick Horton, Neil Watson Thanks for all your from everyone in British Speedway Best wishes to all the Coventry supporters that will be lost to the sport
  15. It's all going to be very confusing, one promoter has said (think it was Louis) it will be 4 home 4 away league fixtures (exc KOC) to gain an average. In the Premiership if a rider needs replacing prior to the 4x4 then the PL or EL x1.4 remains. once the 4x4 is completed it's 'then as you were', the Premiership will use EL averages. We could (although not likely at all) have a situation where Somerset's Tungate hits a 9 average and he gets replaced by Sayfutdinov. What hasn't been mentioned is if a Premiership club signs a Championship rider after the 4x4 and visa versa will there be a conversion required. There should be because after the 4x4 the 2 leagues are then running different sets of averages.
  16. BAILIFFS CALLED IN AT KUMLA http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/5471/bailiffs-called-in-at-kumla
  17. Just for you King's Lynn finished 3rd in that season missing out on top spot by 8 points but won the Spring Gold Cup heading local rivals Ipswich by 2 points. Malcolm Simmons was the Stars leading rider in 1973 with an average of 10.26 Terry Betts achieved a very respectable 9.95 Bob Humphreys had a very respectful 6.13 & Ian 'Tiddler' Turner 6.11 Terry Betts & Malcolm Simmons were part of the winning World Team Cup team with Betts scoring 9 points only headed in the scoring charts by Peter Collins (12) & Anders Michanek (11). Simmons scored 8 points All googled
  18. Thanks again Ash, brilliant reading. So appreciated. I wasn't chasing prices but seeing as you'd added them it certainly added to the discussion. So, when putting your 2 main posts together you'd be confident that the £4300 AshTech with limiter (extra cost?) would be competitive with the GTR over longevity, plus your service parts / charges would be cheaper than the GTR?
  19. I didn't know that so thanks. In a roundabout way he's admitting Coventry's dead & buried? Not an ideal way to confirm it
  20. With you on that & that's why I think King's Lynn are taking their time over the No7 position. Whoever it is will have done their job if they can maintain or add ½ a point on their average. Think it will be the same for the majority of the teams that if they wish to change a No7 rider they'll end up having to replace 2 riders to do that.
  21. Correct, but at the same time you could have signed Sedgmen, finished up at reserve & Bellego ended up as heatleader elsewhere & knock you out the Play-Off's. Far to many if's & but's to worry about. Last seasons Wolves team is a good example of that, at the start of the season not many predicted them to make the Play-Off let alone win the League.
  22. I don't disagree with most of that, except the knowledge of the sport part as a requirement. Someone who's never been very easily pick up the basics i.e. 7 per team, 4 riders per heat, 15 heats etc etc. Would the man in the middle hold a crowd at King's Lynn v Belle Vue and starts blabbering on about Glasgow's history? Or standing there reciting the rule book etc? For me, what's important is the man in the middle does basic research on a meeting by meeting basis, talk to & about the both teams current riders rather than what that team did in 1973. If what happened in 1973 with King's Lynn or the away side is important, well I couldn't tell you but a couple of taps into Google and you'd believe I have a vast knowledge. Knowledge is unimportant, research is important, they're not the same thing.
  23. Absolutely, a riders form in Australia should be taken with a pinch of salt. Bellego does deserve a chance to prove himself before he gets battered. He may just end up being the Robins rider of the year, 2nd Heatleader or No7. Nobody knows.
