  1. To us here in the UK, yes it's a non story but it's completely different kettle of fish in Poland. One of there biggest sports and these guys get recognised when out and about everywhere they go. They are celebrities & seen like pro footballers over here, when getting wasted, fighting etc is seriously frowned upon & all over the papers. There's a time and a place and Poland isn't one of those places for them to be 'letting go' so to speak
  2. Norfolk Area: - Henka Gustafsson - Jason Crump - Nicki Pedersen - Darcy Ward
  3. Things would move along much quicker with the simple but effective GP style 2mins system. Call the 2mins & all rider's have to be ready to race or excluded when the clock hits 0. That alone would make meetings run so much smoothly I have no doubt.
  4. I think existing surroundings with other established sporting events have a dispensation. I understand all new builds must adhere to the RFL regulations
  5. RFL pitch regulations would make the Belle Vue track HUGE Their regulations are (at full dimensions) 100m(116m) x 68m(74m) That would make around a 420m speedway track, WOW
  6. There's still a major hurdle here to get through remember. The BSPA need to get their fingers out of their poop holes and secure the future of live televised British Speedway or this could become a devastating venture and speedway as a whole crumbles COME ON BSPA - SORT IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. 4412 adult entrants @ £17 over the whole season covers the costs. Around 240 weekly paying adults. It's a bargain
  8. £4.5m to be paid back over the next 60 years / £75,000 per season sounds an awful lot but it is an absolute bargain. 4412 entrance fees will cover that expense over a whole season so not a great deal to worry about. Also, I'm guessing, if the rugby are also playing at the stadium would they be required to pay rent too Belle Vue speedway?? Some do know my opinions on this and I'm absolutely gutted my team King's Lynn will now lose out on major events but Good luck to Belle Vue. If all the numbers are correct it's an absolute steel.
  9. To make a living riders can't afford to do that. The problem is, every promoters excuse is riders wages. To be quite frank, that is absolute garbage and lazy promoting to make comments like that. The sport can improve & become cheaper but it has to be done by the BSPA. The first job is to get rid of GoSpeed. Employ somebody to go out there and market British Speedway as a whole, not individual teams. Get out there & ask, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again, ask again & ask again. Somebody will sponsor speedway. The Redbull Elite League The EasyJet Premier League Energy drinks & Aviation is the main route I'd start with. 1000's of flights taken per season by riders, these guys could easily create good business for these airlines. The point is the BSPA overall are responsible for saving speedway and not individual clubs & riders cutting there wages. Get a major sponsorship and people will come. It's how things work these days. Today people are sucked in & follow brands even if the product is garbage. Just blind the public with razzle dazzle and they'll want a bit of it.
  10. It may have something to do with Shane Waldron crashing out the other day in the Stoke individual??? Not heard anything on how he is yet??? Only Lewis Kerr, Tom Young & Shane Hazelden are down as confirmed signings on the Stars website Jake Knight, Darren Mallett, Shane Waldron, and Lewis Rose missing from the 2013 riders list on the website which I'm convinced they were all on there a couple of weeks ago???
  11. Isn't all team motorsport the same??? In F1 injured drivers can be replaced by another teams reserve or test driver. In bike & some other 4 wheel track racing it's been known for injured factory riders / drivers to have the same championship independants to come in. Squad systems keep getting mentioned in British speedway but it would create more expense to promotors as less meeting for riders would mean retaining fees would have to be paid. That just isn't affordable
  12. Being last should never be rewarded IMO. Imagine the last round in 2012 @ Torun & Holder only needed a point to win the title. It would be an absolute farce to watch a rider trundle round at the back. Regardless of a final or not, last places should always score zero.
  13. We had Good Friday & Saturday, why shouldn't Poland have Sunday /Monday or Sweden & Denmark. They don't owe us anything. The most annoying thing with British Speedway is people think we should have automatic rights reserved for every date available. We really can be such a selfish Country sometimes
  14. Hopefully there is truck loads in the Track shops for tomorrow.W H Smiths let me down
  15. Can't believe you just said that. The GP's are live a peak times. Most often both Eurosport channels show live sport on a Saturday evenings and I genuinely fear for the Speedway if and when it over runs.
  16. I'm reserving some judgment of Eurosport. Being 3am there was never a chance of clashing. Wait to see what happens when it over runs and another live event is scheduled after. At least with Sky a clash could be moved to the red button option
  17. My sky planner shows Elite League Speedway on Skysports 1 7.30pm????? Or do you mean the SSN Live Sport schedule?????
  18. He's proved it, won't be World Champ but he IS ready for the GP challenge. Correct choice for the Brit Wild Card
  19. I love the way people know what kids want without even asking them Regarding my 2 nephew's who attend (12 & 9) & a friends niece & nephew ( both 11) what they want is very simple Keep thing's moving. The constant waiting around between races is difficult for them. That is pretty much it. They still do what I use to do, speak to riders, food & drink, watch the racing but the best bit for them? The freedom to move around the stadium & meeting up with other kids. People these days think technology is the way forward, it isn't. It's knowing how to keep youngsters engaged.
  20. I've noticed the Speedway has been removed from the UK Eurosport TV schedule?????
  21. Sky's basic entertainment package is £21.50 per Month. Expensive if you're just after Eurosport.
  22. Some people are hard to please. People who say it won't work because it will be old news before it reach the shelves are talking nonsense. Almost every magazine out there is exactly the same. Playstation, Xbox, FHM, Esquire, Nuts, Fast Ford, Total Vauxhall etc etc etc all has content you can find elsewhere for free but they still sell 1000's each time. There is no reason why Inside Speedway & Speedway Star can't work side by side and maybe on odd occasions together. I recommend everybody (even Phil Rising) purchase the first addition and look for themselves before criticising something they've never seen. Week after week we hear speedway needs more coverage, promoting blah blah blah yet someone tries to move thing forward positively yet Speedway Forum members can't wait to trample all over it, brilliant - give yourselves a pat on the back. Good luck Inside Speedway & Speedway Star. Regardless of opinion of some this sport strongly needs you to survive
  23. I think the hurdles are obvious. Agreeing which riders ride for what team
  24. Someone needs to have a word with the start marshall, this thread seems to have completed more than 4 laps of the same & it's still continuing Darcy is here, will ride GP's, EL etc so it's end of story
