  1. Not quite. He's signed as an asset to the club, not necessarily to ride next season from what I can make out at the moment.
  2. Doubling up is an absolute must for the riders and the Elite League. Admittedly it is less important for the Premier League. For D/U to work to it's maximum potential it's an absolute must that the Elite League move to 2 race nights a week. Preferably Monday and Wednesday as none of the PL side's race those nights. This then removes the 'priority' rule, also removes a lot of 'guests and R/R' for the EL and would genuinely be better for British Speedway as a whole. The next step to double up is remove the maximum EL conversion. Instead of 7.2 being the maximum EL double up, I'd make it open to any rider with the same or above riders get the 12.00 PL average. Then on from that, any rider's taking up the D/U facility can not ride in any other European 'Elite League'. If they wish to take up an 'Elite' position then they have to give up a position for their British club. So, without restricting European trade laws I think this will make home grown Brits more attractive to both EL and PL promoters as European riders won't want to give up their top league positions just to ride over here.
  3. Kind of correct. Peterborough supplied the air fence and the staff to erect and dismantle it. Track staff and equipment was as normal at the NA
  4. The hatred of Nigel and Kelv has gone on for years and it's pathetic. They actually do a great job, well I suppose it's did a great job for speedway on Sky now it's all over. They do annoy me at times but that annoyance is no different to some of the football, cricket, F1 commentator's. I'm probably just 1 of a very few but I hope Sky don't renew the speedway contract. Perfect opportunity to strip the sport back and start again. This could be a major step forward to saving speedway's future in the UK.
  5. I have to say, regardless the NL will be just like the Elite and Premier Leagues. Fully competitive and all wanting to win. There are far too many stand alone clubs at NL level to be just a development league. Those clubs want to win and that was shown by the large traveling Dudley fans. Only from a Coventry and King's Lynn perspective can this league be seen as development
  6. I worry we won't even get close and like last night's playoff this could be all over tonight. So hope there's something to race for tomorrow. COME ON YOUNG STARS!!!!!
  7. I was about to mention that, very very strange. Certainly taints Adrian's victory a little IMO
  8. Seeing as some others have admitted to it, I also became emotional when his mum gave him a big hug. I'm sure he was feeling it too hence why he left his Crash Hat on to hide the emotion as he still at the end of that had a meeting to run. The kid was absolutely incredible all season and put his body on the line. I'd have to say, which may upset a few he is the best natural talented British World Champion since Michael Lee. The difference is, he won't destroy his fledgling career and go off the rails. Tai Woffinden is the 2013 Speedway World Champion and deserved.
  9. I've just googled it and know the answer but I can't be assed to tell ya
  10. The engine room of Knight & Mallett is massive for us. 6-7 each from them might see us have a chance
  11. Think we would have smashed Mildly out the park even without Josh's crash and boy what a crash it was. How the fooking hell did he manage to try and continue reading is beyond me. It was horrendous. You're right about the racing being strung out but still enjoyed it. Will be different next week though. Halsey's move on Kerr went beyond hard riding to just down right dangerous. Assuming the who-ha in the pits was off the back of that.
  12. If they go through with the threat this time I think it would stick. Polish League speedway is the biggest pay packet in the sport and no GP rider in their right mind wouldn't & probably couldn't afford to not ride Poland
  13. As I've said previously, Lambert doesn't need British speedway. It's been a pleasure watching him throw some laps in.
  14. To only lose by 8 is a terrific result by the Young Stars. Wasn't at all expected without Kerr and Lambert Back to the NA for the second leg Wednesday for the Young Stars to smash Mildenhall back to Suffolk
  15. To be fair, I thought Iversen did turn left but that's another thread discussion. There is an issue with the exhaust but my concern and reasoning is with protecting the rider's themselves. When you see what they have to wear as a minimum requirement I'm surprised there isn't even more serious consequences. Someone may be on to something with rider's be closer and more unwilling to move. With the gradual improvements in safety have rider's become more trusting of their opposition?? Forget about the machinery, there must be better personal protection for these guys out there than what is already a minimum requirement. This is what I want to dig into.
  16. This does get discussed quite a lot but in the last couple of weeks have become more prominent. The exhaust has taken a lot of flack for this but most of the crashes I've seen on TV and trackside it's been mainly riders coming together. My main question is really without banning the sport completely what can be done to make contact crashes safer??? Make neck braces compulsory?? Make air jackets compulsory??
  17. So, those that want the introduction of squad systems just like Poland because it's a better format than guests may want to think again after the farce in the Polish Play-Off Final I'll stick with the guest option thanks
  18. I have nothing to really add but immense pride thanks to Tai. This kid is solid
  19. Come on Phil, don't get splinters in ya backside and tell us who that promoter is!!! If it was a Premier League promoter I can understand a British World Champion does nothing for them. Of it's an Elite League promoter that would be a rather strange comment.
  20. Interview with Woffy tonight on radio 5Live at around 9.50

  22. Also use on twitter the hashtag #TW108 Tai reads these, let's give the guy a boost.
  23. Radical idea. People say close score lines make for more entertaining racing, so.............. Double points every time a team goes 4 or more points down. Don't have to nominate a rider for the table cloth, just standard colours and the double points goes to the rider that finishes furthest ahead Just a thought
