  1. Anyone know if Cam rode in the Jack Young cup yesterday? He was apparently due to, but worryingly he seemed to struggle in the Aussie u21's and pulled out of his final ride.. Hopefully he hasn't had a reaction to the troublesome hand injury he had surgery on before Christmas.
  2. Great to see Lanham fixed up, and surprised to see Poole back. He's on a bargain average for me and I'd have certainly taken him back at Ipswich this season.
  3. It's the close season and the team was sorted a long time ago so very little to discuss. It's actually been pretty quiet on here since Aljackel departed! Most of the discussion on here was him trolling and everyone else biting. Separate the wheat from the chaff and you could probably cut the Ipswich threads in half.
  4. I can understand the disappointment of Wealdstone and a few others to be honest. When we dropped a division I was bitterly disappointed, even though I fully understood the clubs need for the change as we were struggling the last couple of seasons in the top flight and crowds dwindled. The PL racing is good make no mistake about that, and don't be fooled in to thinking you're going to see riders wobbling around the track because that won't be the case. But for me, there IS something missing in the PL compared to the EL. I still go, and still enjoy it, but not as much as I did when we were in the EL even when we were struggling. I can remember a meeting against Coventry about 4 years ago now, big crowd and it went to a last heat decider. Hampel and Swiderski Vs Harris and Schlein. You could have cut the tension with a knife prior to that heat 15 with all four riders "gardening" at the gate for what seemed like an eternity. When Hampel and Swiderski flew from the gate the roar was deafening. I have yet to witness anything come remotely close to that in the PL. Like I say the PL is very enjoyable, but for me there always seems to be a little something missing and I definitely don't get the same buzz and satisfaction as I did when watching the EL.
  5. Iversen and Kenneth Bjerre signed up so far, with Morten hoping to announce one or two more GP riders soon. All the Witches apart from Ellis (who has a commitment in France), and possibly Worrall who is waiting on his Polish team' fixture list, will be riding. Also match races between Louis, Doncaster and hopefully Loram too.
  6. We haven't seen any of the "top" riders at Foxhall for a few years now so if he could tempt Nicki Pedersen and one or two others of that ilk, along with it being on a Saturday night, it could well be a decent pay day for Risager!
  7. News on Risager's testimonial in the Ipswich Star and EADT tomorrow. Apparently the field will contain some "GP Stars".
  8. Well I must be in the minority on here as I would have Risager over Lanham and I'm pleased with that particular decision.
  9. Mike Smillie is still general manager. Perhaps he'll get his old job back as team manager..
  10. Interesting comments from Pete about issues with the team last year and his disappointment that Lanham wasn't given a place this year.. Also that he didn't receive backing over wanting to change the riding order. http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/mobile/teams_2_553/ipswich_witches_2_563/witches_team_manager_pete_simmons_quits_after_six_years_in_charge_but_may_have_stayed_had_the_witches_moved_into_the_elite_league_1_3211130
  11. Cameron Heeps. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him Ipswich number 1 by the end of the season.
  12. Does it?? I'd say very little depends on Risager to be honest. As for the "fuss" with Ipswich, I wasn't aware there was any!
  13. Absolute nonsense. As with poole, if success is earned by fair means then nobody would have any complaints. I didn't see any signs of jealousy of Somerset's title victory this/last season did you? All I've seen is deserved praise from all corners on here on a deserved Somerset title triumph last season.
  14. Not blood, of course not that would be silly. Just his TRUE and rightful average would suffice.
  15. Exactly as I've said above. If the others don't challenge it and just accept it then I've no sympathy for any of them.
  16. Exactly. If he SHOULD be a 7.00, why should the other promoters just shrug their shoulders and accept it? If they do that, then I'm afraid they'll get what they deserve. IF, he should be a 7 that is.
  17. His gating also looked poor in the Star of Anglia meeting too. Something he's definitely going to have to work on. On the plus side, when he got going he looked quick and got stuck in, making a couple of terrific passes. If he can hold his 5.00 average next year then that will be a successful first season in the UK IMO.
  18. So harsh in the extreme! You get that in every team up and down the country!
  19. But is that true though? Mortem has gotten a rough ride on here because of that. There was a post on here labelling Risager as a "billy big balls" because he apparently caused a rift in the camp. One poster if I can recall posted that, then it seemed to escalate and snowball. The knives seem out for Risager and I'm not 100% it's justified? Well hopefully we get written off as we did last year both on here and the speedway star who most had us finishing outside the play offs. We did end up finishing second, just behind Somerset on the final heat of the final league meeting of the season. Hopefully, we have much better luck with injury than we did when it really mattered.
  20. First and foremost Baldy, you HAVE to win your home meetings, that's vitally important and for me Risager is a slightly stronger rider around Foxhall. As I said, they're both pretty much on a par with each other, and Lanham has also had his fair share of away stinkers.
  21. I personally don't mind either of Lanham or Risager. I think they both have very similar scoring potential so wouldn't particularly make us stronger or weaker with one or the other. They're both 7 pointers and will both probably be 7 pointers at the end of next season too.
  22. Yep looking at the Ipswich Star, they have Worrall on 8.42 and Ellis on 4.14 so both getting the reduction. Team total 42.21
  23. Are you still waiting for us to " come clean" about knowing that Jensen is in the side?
  24. Worrall gets the reduction according to some on here.
