Newcastle will probably be thinking it's the worst possible time to be visiting Suffolk after our humiliation at Somerset. Fully expecting some sort of response from the Ipswich boys on Monday who will have a point to prove, and a reputation repair job to do. Looks like a decent day weather wise, and an unwelcome warm one judging by this mornings forecast... Anyone know if that new shale that was supposed to be delivered has turned up yet?

The "racing" this season at Ipswich has been dross. Since they invested heavily in widening the track a few years ago, the racing in the main has been very good. This year, and only the promotion will know why, the track has been in an awful state. Little material, no grip and blue grooves! Get the preparation right, and you'll get good racing on just about every track in every league. Peterborough is one of the few tracks where you're bound to see good racing no matter how well prepared the track is! Excellent race track and another good meeting tonight. Well done Panthers.

Me too. On the track front, Louis knows that the poor standard of racing so far this season could potentially hurt his business so I'm sure he's on the case to rectify it. I'm even debating myself whether to give it a miss for a while until the track has improved as I can't stomach too many more meetings like the Good Friday one. None of the supporters are getting value for money so far this season so it's an obvious issue. I have no idea how much the amount of shale needed is going to cost? I assume it's not cheap, so maybe the reason it hasn't been done yet is due to a lack of funds at the moment as much as a supply issue? Who knows but fingers crossed it gets sorted ASAP.

Apart from at Plymouth.. Its either a problem or it isn't so not exactly sure what Louis is trying to say here. If there is no problem with the wrist, then this is a major crash in form from the rider we saw last year.

He isn't "awful" at all, he is what he is but there are far more "awful" riders in this league than Risager. Risager has actually been one of our better riders so far this season.

I really wouldn't bother Dave. The best way to deal with idiots like this and the Alljacks of this world is to ignore them and not take the bait.

Totally agree he's made an excellent start to the season and good to see. Maybe being an Ipswich/Mildenhall asset we missed a trick there? Very easy to say in hindsight of course. Maybe next year.

The track has been awful this season and I've said this a few times already this year, there's very little material on it and the racing is suffering badly. Anyone can see that there's nothing wrong with the track shape now that it's been widened regardless of what an earlier poster said on here. We've seen some terrific speedway the last few years post track changes, but it has to be said that the "racing" this year has been garbage. Apparently the wet winter we had prevented the banking being built up. There is also apparently a load of shale being delivered in the coming weeks. The Ipswich promotion seriously need to get a move on with that before the die hards start walking away too as the regular Thursday night attendances have been a little disappointing. Nobody likes seeing their team losing at home, but if you're beaten but witness a good nights racing in the process, then fans go home relatively happy to an extent. A defeat coupled with awful racing is a disaster.

Then he's clearly not telling the truth. He himself, said only last week at an away track that the track conditions were causing him problems with the wrist. What on earth happened with the winter operation that was supposed to cure the problem? He felt the wrist last year again by his own admission, but it wasn't a major problem. He went from reserve, to scoring well in the difficult number 2 berth and was tipped by many to challenge for the number 1 race jacket this year. He had an operation in the winter to try and cure the wrist problem, and seems to be in far worse shape for it! Anyone watching him in the pits during the meeting can clearly see the lad is suffering with the wrist and something needs to be done ASAP.

Colin Mills give it a bloody rest will you. The only input you EVER have on Ipswich threads, is negative and to take sly pot shots at the Ipswich management. Do one!

Enough is enough with Heeps he's way off the pace. I've packs between heats? This wrist HAS to be sorted he's clearly struggling badly with it.

Anyone know if vouchers are needed for the kids? Mike Bacon has been tweeting reminding people that the kids vouchers are in the Ipswich Star. The official website however makes no mention of vouchers being needed, simply saying kids go free with a paying adult.

Just tried to work out which meetings Worrall and Ellis will be missing and as it stands, Worrall could only potentially be missing one more fixture IF Somerset defeat Workington in the KOC. We could do with Worky winning that tie as both Worrall and Ellis would be missing for the away tie at Somerset, but both would be available for an away tie at Workington. We'll also be needing a guest for Ellis on another 5 occasions, May 5th, June 20th, July 10th, August 7th and August 30th.

I'm tempted to do the same although I'll probably still go. Certainly has put a dampener on the meeting from an Ipswich perspective.

1st leg of the double header at Foxhall and again, guests aplenty! It remains to be seen how good a replacement Bach will be for Worrall, but the one that really concerns me is Mills for Ellis judging by the contrasting ways they've started the season. Any team news on the Peterborough front?

Gino Manzares has been a pleasant surprise early on.

Good start to the season from Gino, better than I was expecting to be honest. Got to agree the crowd looked a bit concerning, especially when reading various other threads where supporters are boasting of very good early attendances.

He won't get a bad one at all. Yes he was the cause of the crash that ended Loram's career no doubt about that, but everyone in the stadium that night could clearly see it was an accident and he didn't mean it. He picked up some unexpected drive on the back straight and lost control, pure accident.

I wouldn't call paid 7 and paid 8 in his first year of PL racing a "struggle" to be honest but there you go. He's already a better rider than last year as well and is improving all the time.

Just looked at next weeks fixtures, and we're going to need a guest for Worrall on Thursday as Belle Vue are also riding, and a guest for Ellis next Friday as he'll be riding for Lakeside. Then Bach and Mills as guests the following week on Good Friday. This is going to be a pain this year..
