  1. SHOULD be Roland. I don't see 6 teams better than this one, so if we don't make the top 6 then we've underperformed. But, speedway being speedway, injuries can strike at any time to change things. On Bash' post above, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see King line up for us next season with his strong links to the club. In fact, I'll be very surprised if he doesn't.
  2. That would have stuffed up our entire season. On his average we'd have probably had to make 3 changes. I personally wouldn't swap any of our 6 below Worrall. It would have to be a straight swap for Worrall or stay as we are. Worrall has been a disappointment, no getting away from it. He's had the odd excellent meeting, but generally he's been pretty poor.
  3. Well that bodes well. Very pleasing and unexpected point at a track we don't normally go too well on. Looking forward to hearing Baldy's thoughts as it seems a few lads rode very well indeed. Great to see Heeps in the points too.
  4. Haven't got particularly high hopes for this one. Risager rarely goes well here and Manzares clearly didn't find it his cup of tea either last time out with 4 straight duck eggs!
  5. He looks confident, and when he's confident he can be very very fast. Come on Louis get him booked for Worrall in the return leg of the cup against Somerset next week, just to make sure like
  6. Advantage Plymouth, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Panthers winning the return leg.
  7. Am I right in thinking both Worrall and Ellis will miss the return leg at Somerset? If so, then we need a pretty sizeable lead to take down there.
  8. Agreed. And once the Rye pair trapped they were never going to be caught and passed.
  9. Chris Louis has changed the riding order, switching Manzares and Heeps. Ben Morley guests for Pontus Aspgren for Somerset http://www.ipswichwitches.co/
  10. I personally don't think the rider choices for heat 15 could be criticised. Prior to heat 15 Risager had been better or at least as good as any Ipswich rider on show apart from Hawkins. As well as Hawkins rode on the day, I personally still would have gone with Worrall and Risager to try and get the points necessary when up against two very fast riders around Rye in Kennett and Garrity. Easy after the event to say they should have gone with someone else, but I called the rider choices the same as the team manager and plenty of the Ipswich fans around me did too. As has been said, the bizarre choice of gate position definitely could be criticised for an outsiders point of view. Maybe they had good reasons why 1 and 3 were chosen, but it's hard to fathom from where we were standing. Would be interesting to hear who chose the gates and the reasons for it.
  11. A meeting between Newcastle and Edinburgh and one of your first posts after the meeting you mention us? And to think we were the ones on the Ipswich Edinburgh thread who were accused of having chips on our shoulders
  12. Interesting you say that Baldy because we've had this conversation before on here with Shadders a few weeks back. I agree with you I would prefer skinless fish, but I've honestly never ever seen skinless fish from a fish shop in Ipswich and I've probably tried all of them. The pub fish and chips like your weatherspoons around town do them, but I've never had a skinless piece of fish from a proper fish shop. If you've found one, let me know! Back on topic before someone pipes up, good win yesterday
  13. Talking of the fish and chips, has anyone tried the fish and chips from the new shop on the second bend at Foxhall yet? Got to admit I was impressed and much better than I thought they would be! admittedly the chips aren't chip shop chips, just frozen fries probably, but the fish and battered sausage were bang on. I shall return
  14. That is harsh in the extreme on Risager! The lad was good value for his paid double figures and he continues his fine season. Very harsh to single him out for failing to topple a very good and quick home pair (off better gates) in heat 15.
  15. Sorry fella! Will arrange in advance next time I thought about it! Good job I didn't judging by the remarks on here! Great result just a shame we couldn't get the full 4 but that's being greedy! 4 points though from Thursday's meeting and tonight and I'd have taken that before Thursday no question. Risager having his most consistent season to date, good lad. Hawkins was buzzing in the pits after the meeting I think he enjoyed this one.. Gino has been an excellent signing and you get the feeling there's an awful lot more to come from him too. Long way to go, but this team SHOULD be top 6 and from there anything can happen..
  16. Interested to see if Manzares has learnt anything from his previous visits as this will be the 3rd time he's ridden at Rye already. He's been superb so far, but the one criticism has been that his away scores have been pretty poor compared to his form at Foxhall which has been simply brilliant. Like I say, 3rd visit for him here so hopefully he'll have learnt and produces a score more like his Foxhall form.
  17. Heeps has now become a big concern for me. Never saw this form coming in a million years after being so impressive last year.
  18. Nah SB. Went in to the royal George on Colchester road at 12, came out at 1 and it was drizzling, ground soaking wet with puddles around and I though here we go! Fizzled out shortly after and has been dry since, overcast but fairly warm and the roads have dried. Fingers crossed we get no more as no more is forecast.
  19. Forecast looks ok today. You always tend to get a fast track when it's wet leading up to race day and then dry on the day. With Cook around, we could see the track record challenged tonight..
  20. I've given up listening to the weather forecast and trying to predict potential rain offs after Redcar last week! The forecast was horrendous and gave little hope of a meeting taking place, but take place it did. On the meeting itself, I really fancy us in this one and I think we'll win it.
