  1. Having spoke to somebody from the club directly a few weeks ago about this topic when it was raised on here, and it's a delicate issue that really needs dropping, I'm sorry but it's YOU proud Panther that needs to be paying £20 in to the Ricky fund. I'm afraid you're wrong on this one.
  2. As I expected, Heeps NOT affected, Tungate and Manzares are the two with visa issues confirmed by Mike Bacon.
  3. Might have to start again from scratch! This could get messy, right down to the supporters demanding refunds on their season tickets for not getting the product that was advertised!
  4. I'm sure I saw it mentioned that he did, when the "can he can't he ride in the NL" stuff came up a few seasons ago when he signed for Mildenhall. Could be wrong mind..
  5. Exactly. It would be a complete shambles and more than likely, unworkable if all non EU riders are refused visas. By the way Heeps has dual nationality doesn't he? British grandparents.
  6. I agree actually they have an excellent PL number 1, one of the better looking reserve pairings which is important, and points in the middle order particularly from Garrity. What they do need though is more luck with injuries as they've suffered more than most in recent seasons.
  7. So we start with the Billy Sanders memorial on the 19th. Good that the riders get a meeting under their belts before facing Rye away on the 21st, who may go in to that LC fixture cold?
  8. You have to factor in costs as well. All well and good having both meetings different times of the day, but most can't afford to go to both so will still choose one or the other.
  9. Cameron Heeps. Showed huge potential in 2013 which stalled in 2014 due to a wrist injury and surgery that didn't quite go to plan. Showed encouraging signs towards the end of last season though that he's slowly getting his fitness and confidence back. Could well be a good year for Cam.
  10. You have to also remember that the lad has been racing road bikes for a few years so at this point he's going to be miles behind everyone else in terms of preparation as he's basically starting from scratch. Another couple of months preparation in terms of machinery and practice will see him in better shape for the start of the season, then we'll see what he's made of.
  11. Exactly why we shouldn't read too much in to his scoring or lack of. He's still a risk and nobody really knows how the lad is going to do because we've got absolutely nothing to go on other than an impressive junior record. He could be superb, just ok or he could stink the place out! We won't know until the season starts but it'll be interesting to see how the lad gets on.
  12. That's a good point. Still a couple of months until the season starts to prepare and I'm pretty sure what he was riding over there won't be what he'll be riding over here in March.
  13. I agree. Injuries permitting we'll be in the mix I'm confident about that. Still over 8 weeks away. Starting to drag a bit!! Will surely be Rye on the 19th I'd have thought? We now know we ride them away on the 21st so the smart money would be Rye at home.
  14. Increased attendances? When I went to the stocks a couple of months back they looked the same as they always have, pretty good. The speedway of course different kettle of fish. Just like everywhere else the crowd levels seem to be falling year on year. The figures that were bandied about for the improvements already made were quite substantial if I remember rightly. Not sure what return they're currently getting on that investment but there you go, it's their money to do as they please I suppose. From what's been said though, you can't help but wonder that they made those improvements on the promise that they were eventually buying the stadium and it was eventually going to be theirs. We don't know the ins and outs though so probably best not to speculate further..
  15. Still none the wiser! Why would someone who doesn't even own the actual stadium spend so much money on it? Was it spent because they had an "agreement" with the owners on a price and they were sure they were buying it, before the goalposts were seemingly moved on a price by the current owners? If that's the case then it could get messy!
  16. Aye joint top scorer with Doyle on 14 points in the heats! Great stuff. I'm more than likely being a bit thick here, but who has done all the stadium improvements so far over the last couple of years? The current stadium owners, or the "chap that owns speedworth south" who thought he was buying the stadium?
  17. Can't really see how that's possible with the stocks.
  18. Sorry but looks very ordinary to me too and definitely not top 4 as it stands. Long season though and as others have said, pretty much guaranteed that this won't be the septet next October.
  19. Peterborough have completed their team with Greenwood and look pretty tasty. Hopefully It's another double header on Good Friday (with a much better Foxhall track please Chris!) Looking forward to it already could be a couple of belters.
  20. The more I look at that side, the more I'm pleased with it..
  21. The riders themselves may have a say also. Hawkins had already made the decision to stop spannering for King next season way before he signed for us as he wanted to fully concentrate on his racing. He may have the same feelings about the captaincy who knows. I have said King would be my choice, and he would be all things being equal. But Hawkins had the job this season and if he wanted to hold on to it, then perhaps it's best to keep him happy and let him continue. Not as if he did a bad job of it and if he thrives on the extra responsibility and it gets that little bit more out of him then all well and good. I always thought it was just the lowest two averaged riders have to be at reserve, but you could have them in any order you like. Could be wrong though as things seem to change constantly in this sport!
  22. Let's not forget King has already been Ipswich skipper in the past too, and I remember plenty thought he also was one of the best we've had. It's between the two of them anyway and can't really go wrong with either.
