  1. If we hadn't have signed King I might have agreed with you as I'm not convinced we'd have enough top end strength with Tungate at 1. But He's not likely to be anywhere near the number 1 spot with Danny King in the side so I think there's more improvement to come from Tungate. Forget his age, Rohan is still very very young in Speedway terms after only 3 seasons in the sport and to be honest, he deserves another season after climbing to number 1 in that short time. I haven't a problem with Risager either, he's a good rider at PL level but it would be a little ironic if he lost his place after just having his best season.
  2. You're not the first one to say that on here so maybe there is some truth to it. I'd still be surprised though. Should find out this week.
  3. I agree and fingers crossed its with us. Heeps is another young gun I'm expecting better things from after his injury and confidence issues this year. Both these two MUST be in the team.
  4. 5.50 divided by 0.60 = 9.17 old Premier average.
  5. Agree and he'd be one of the first on the team sheet for me. It's young talented riders like Ellis with obvious potential to improve that we need to keep hold of. If Chris Louis doesn't keep him on he wants his head testing.
  6. I Keep changing my mind over Tungate. Sometimes I think yes, our asset, improving every year, and with King signed will more than likely keep out of the number 1 spot so every chance of improving again. Then on the other hand, with King on a near 9 point average and Tungate over 8, I think that might be a little too top heavy and leave us short lower down.
  7. Does he not? Didn't know that. Might make it a tad easier to leave him out then knowing he's not sitting across the dinner table most Sunday's!! Still expect him in the team though!!
  8. I agree to a certain extent, but that's the nature of the game isn't it? In this sport, if you want to be successful and win things, you have to be ruthless and pick riders on attractive averages who have scope to up them considerably. Somerset ditched a rider last year before a wheel had even been turned it anger! Harsh in the extreme, but their promotion are relatively successful and win things. The only problem with that from an Ipswich point of view, people could say why is Risager always in the team when he doesn't have much room for improvement either so in that regard Tungate could consider him unlucky. At the end of the day though, no rider is getting sacked. They sign a contract for the season, and when October 31st comes around there is nothing binding club and rider and they are both free to do what they like. It's a two way thing as well, we might well want to retain a rider, Tungate for example, but he may decide he wants to ride elsewhere and there's nothing we could do about it so it works both ways.
  9. I agree and don't think you'll find many who wouldn't take that team but I've a feeling mine will be nearer than yours unfortunately but we'll find out soon it seems. If Risager is in the team again, will he be the only Witch that has been in every side since we've been in the PL?
  10. Well I never Welcome home Danny! Great signing to lead the team. Just under the 9 point mark so scratching my head a bit for the remainder of the team but it seem Louis knew his septet as soon as the 42.50 was confirmed. Will probably mean no Tungate, and possibly no Worrall either with him replaced by a 4 pointer? King, Risager, Heeps and Manzares I'm fully expecting to be in the team. If Hawkins and Ellis are retained also, we're looking at up to 4.96 for the last rider. Edit: Just seen Lanham's average has dropped to 4.90... King Hawkins Heeps Manzares Risager Lanham Ellis Could we be looking at that? Just fits with 0.06 to spare. Personally hope it's a little more inspiring than that but we'll see.
  11. Can we assume that Glasgow have come in to a bit of money? All the noises seem to be that Glasgow could be the team to beat next year so I'm looking forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves..
  12. Looks pretty solid to me, strong reserve pairing.
  13. Not sure what's so funny TBH as I don't see Masters as number 1 material either. Masters has a similar average to Rohan Tungate, but you'll notice there isn't many if any Witches fans that see Tungate as number 1 material either. That's because both have achieved their current averages riding in the 2-5 and not at number 1. I personally wouldn't touch either of Masters or Tungate on their current averages as I don't see any improvement in either rider.
  14. They were this season, But surely they won't both be at Edinburgh next season? Too top heavy with Masters' average having increased this year.
  15. Agreed. King and Worrall would make much more sense. King at 1 and Worrall at 5 would be as good a top two as any in the League probably.
  16. Just read the Star and when I saw the headline I immediately thought what I've thought all along, Danny King. But the bit in bold put a few doubts in my mind for some reason. I could be totally wrong, but that sounds like negotiations with said riders parent club rather than the rider? King is Birmingham's rider, and with them not competing in the PL you'd think a deal with them would be fairly straightforward? Or perhaps I'm just barking up completely the wrong tree!
  17. Unless you have an official PL average it seems. Rory Schlein is unhappy because the new rules mean he can't double up this season and his blocked move to Peterbrough this season has now cost him a PL place as he would now have an official average. Schlein also says the likes of Craig Cook are fine to carry on doubling up. Doesn't mean he's right of course! He may also have gotten confused with it all..

  19. Schlein has tweeted that a new rule has stopped him riding in the PL this year. No rider over 6 in the EL can ride PL as well. Interestingly he says that someone blocked him from riding for Peterborough this year which has now cost him a PL place for 2015 as he would now have an official PL average. So that means the like of Craig Cook and Danny King are still eligible for PL because they have official PL averages. I wonder who Schlein was lined up for..
  20. Indeed, it was Mike Bacon on twitter just having a laugh..
