  1. I don't think it has as of yet, but Jon Cook did say when they took King on mid-season that they had the option of signing him from the BSPA if all went well or something along those lines.
  2. I don't think it will be as cut and dried as needing the finance before the conference to declare in or out? I think the BSPA will give Peterborough time and leave the door open if targets haven't been met by Friday.
  3. Ah fairy nuff. I'll be more surprised if he doesn't sign than if he does and I think he'll be announced pretty quickly after the weekend. We'll see.
  4. "Would" have been and not "Will"? Is he off elsewhere or have I completely misread your post?
  5. Would be a strange decision as he never really got to grips with Foxhall, but still proved to be entertaining. I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at Barker at all but King remains my first choice. There seem a few Berwick folk who think Barker will end up there. Conference this weekend so get that out of the way and we'll start to see things hotting up. Edit: Official website is back up for those interested.
  6. http://speedwayresults.com/rider.php?name=Erik&surname=Riss Doesn't look overly impressive and that's in uncompetitive Leagues.
  7. Ahh thanks Badge I pick up a Star every day so somehow must have missed that!
  8. Chris Louis seems to have been very quiet lately too. I know we didn't win anything this year but we normally get a few words reflection from him for the season either on the website or local press. Perhaps the website is being redesigned to show the ELITE LEAGUE Witches
  9. Anyone else get on the official site? Seems to have been down for a few days now for me at least.
  10. I think King would average over 9 next season, so I could see him putting half a point on. We'll see. If he could hold his current average then he would still have had a good year and led the team well, as both our previous number one's have both seen their averages drop. Baldy is right, King is entertaining and will have a real go when behind. I agree.
  11. Unless like Heeps he has an English great grandparent then he'll be a 3.00
  12. I'm with you there as well, but I'm confident Risager, Heeps and Manzares will be in the team, and if there's no change with the doubling up rule next weekend then I'm confident King will be in there too. Agree though that King, Worrall and Wells would be a potent top end, even though I'd have slight concerns with Wells' apparent commitment or lack of, to his PL clubs.
  13. Agreed but problem is if He's second heatleader behind Tungate, then IMO he'll very quickly move back to number 1. Neither Tungate nor Worrall are strong enough at number 1 for me. King and Worrall top 2, harsh on Rohan yes but that's what I'd like to see. http://www.speedwaygb.co/plteamissues14.html The final Greensheets for team building Tungate 8.36 Risager 7.36 Worrall 7.32 Manzares 6.02 Heeps 5.38 Hawkins 5.27 Ellis 4.67 Total: 44.38 Danny King 8.84.. King 8.84 Risager 7.36 Heeps 5.38 Manzares 6.02 ? up to 7.23 Ellis 4.67 3 pointer
  14. Couldn't agree more with that bit, but totally disagree regarding Tungate and King. There's no doubt in my mind that King will be a 9 point number 1, Tungate on the other hand wouldn't get remotely close to that riding at 1 all season in my opinion. Tungate has done well to push his average up over 8, but he's achieved that average not riding in the number 1 position. If he's chosen to lead the team next year he'll get my full support, but if he's going to be our "big hitter" in the team we're going to be seriously outgunned at the tail end of meetings. For the record Worrall isn't the answer at 1 either, but he has a better looking average and would be ok as a second heatleader.
  15. What "hype"? Nobody is wetting their drawers at the prospect, just saying he'll be a very good number 1 to lead the team, which he would be. Who would you like at number 1?
  16. I'd quite like to see Lewis with us actually he looked terrific last season. He's an Ipswich (Chris Louis) asset so I'm sure if Louis wanted him in the side then it would be more than a possibility so we'll see.
  17. The gist of the article is Brian Messenger has no intention as staying on as manager, Heeps is a must to stay as he's on an artificial average due to him taking a while to overcome wrist surgery, and he hints at a big hitting number 1 and then finding the right 3 point man. He says he has no knowledge of who we will sign, but he's heard King mentioned so that looks a possibility.
  18. I've got my heart set on King and I think it'll happen unless the doubling up rule is scrapped at the AGM. Start with King, then build from there. Manzares and Heeps are shoe ins I'd have thought.
  19. I love the darts too Baldy great final the other night between King and Wade! Great comeback from Wade. Sorry back on topic, Speedway eh...
  20. Manzares was my rider of the year by some distance.
  21. Just thought I'd bump this as for some reason the 2015 thread has fell off the radar and next season's rumours are going in the 2014 thread..
  22. 6.22 divided by 0.6 is 10.37, not 9.952.
