Probably due to the senior citizens abstaining due to the large increase in their entrance costs. -

It crossed my mind to post a comment about clowns , but as it wouldn't have gone down too well in certain areas ,I refrained. -
On the contrary, it's much easier now as we have a weak bunch supposedly controlling the sport and one promoter who is able to "flex" the rules to suit, at his discretion. In many peoples eyes it makes each season a foregone conclusion before a wheel is turned .

The sooner he goes the better IMO.

I know , that wasn't my point. It was suggested that it was down to the GRA , it isn't.
-
The GRA don't actually own the Hall Green stadium, it was sold in 2014 to Euro Property Investments apparently for 3M. The greyhounds have a 15 year lease with a break clause after 5 years, so they are safe until then, unless they opt to get out earlier. Fortunately Perry Barr is owned by Birmingham Council so the GRA can't sell that one.

One of them is already "on the case" see the "like" on post 419.

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure that speedibee is correct here . Mr Sandhu bought out Midland Sport Stadiums, at the time ,as far as I can determine there were just two directors Martin & his mother. The Sandersons & Mr Gilmour had resigned from the company,& Hans Kirimaar was never listed as a director of MSS. The departure of the Ochiltrees was a result of a major disagreement over the how the new owner wanted to run his business as far as I am aware.

Yes I saw that crash at Wimbledon in an Internationale Meeting. Brown tried to go found the outside of Fundin on the first bend but Ove didn't turn his bike at all and Ivor was left sprawled over the safety fence . (If my memory serves me well)

Here, once again we have a classic case of someone who is/has been involved in the promotion of the sport failing to grasp the real meaning and feeling of the phrase " the customer is always right". Having the facts has absolutely no relevance, the phrase is intended to remind anyone in business that regardless of the product they wish to promote/sell the most important point is to keep your customer happy. Unfortunately Jon Cook isn't the only promoter that fails that test , we can regularly read comments from various promoters that leave much to be desired on the PR front. It's been this way for many years unfortunately, but some of the present day promoters show no enthusiasm for change.

Security not so good at the BBC then? I thought that there was a big effort at present to make sure bombers were kept out of large public gatherings.
-
They very probably have, but we just haven't found out where yet.

Don't worry , your opinion doesn't count for much amongst those on this forum who can see the bigger picture.

Mildly Interesting Speedway Trivia...
Dave Jones replied to YerRopes's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I remember when he popped a fridge out of the window of his hotel room in Pardubice on to cars parked below. Hang on a bit , I think that was floor nine -
The person who started the bird puns should get a warning , and told not to lark about in future.

You can say that again.
-
O K . If you say so.

Precisely.

Farewell means goodbye, so farewell to the abbey means that is the end. So 4 days after the meeting we get told the new stadium won't be ready for March 2016, and the new season would start at the existing stadium. If you believe that TR didn't know that in advance of Oct 11th then I think you are a little too trusting.
