  1. Im amazed how Posa (..and Svensson) still have the mental edge to go on. Usually riders loses their mental edge and realizes mortality of their bodies and quits. Not many quits because they have got everything you can from the sport. You cant do overtaking like Posa did today if you are in any doubt. After all these years he still improves his equipment, still does his training, still gets on his bike after all the crashes he has had.. and has no doubt to go for the gap to overtake in next heat.
  2. Lagging of the first stream is indication that there is a lot more watching.. Lots of spectators in Sanok. People between the trees watching the meeting. Crash between Svensson and Posa.. Posa was like why did you do that?! Nice touch by Stefan then to loan a bike for Posa. edit. 1 minute is very short time when you are behind Posa. 1 minute is veeery long time when you are trying to keep Posa behind!
  3. Hard overtake by Posa against Zorn and also great work to keep his bike up with his left knee to get 2 points.
  4. Oh, there was just some speculations about today´s streaming. Have to be online to see how Aakko will do tomorrow. I hope he got over his transport problems.. a broken van. Im positively amazed how good Knapp has been today! I hope ice speedway would get a bigger place in Poland. edit. Aakko does not seem to be in the lineup for tomorrow.
  5. Any news on the stream for Sanok Cup?
  6. I hope that the plan to build a speed skating stadium to Oulu goes on. Full 400m Inzel style track. Big and important races should not be planned on natural ice.
  7. I find it odd that they didnt race the GP qualification at the end of last season. Knowing that you are in the GP would make sponsors easier to get for those riders. Also everyone would be on the top of their game at the end of the season.
  8. I like this part: "1.5 million zł in three selected foundations involved in the fight against cancer in children"
  9. I ment that 450 mx bike goes around the track for ages in hands of an amateur. Most guys ride them like a bus. Brrrr.. brööp! Brrr.. 2-3 gear and half throttle. 250s are different story. I have to change a piston again on my own. Sand tracks makes me almost sad when listening how my KTM screams just to survive. Speedway maintenance is about 2h per bike after training/race? That is much, you have to be motivated to ride speedway. But speedway is very much a sport that you are into it or not. It is not like motocross that you can go and ride for fun few times a month. In speedway, you put everything in it. It can take everything from you every time ride it. I dont see the expenses as the reason. More like people are not into stuff so much. You need to be a kind of special for speedway. There is a lot of riders in a sport like motocross that is 3 times more expensive that speedway.
  10. Also, to cut down expenses I dont see any point in using KTM, Kawasaki, Honda.. they are expensive to buy for first. If you buy a used thumper engine you have to take it to parts and check out everything because mx bike goes around the track for ages without any maintenance. Usually titanium valves or seats are gone because sand through dirty air filter. Gear box sprockets are worn/damaged. Clutch baskets are worn and will start to drag when you rev the bike at the start line. Ways of tuning modern 450s are endless so. You can get computer programs to adjust your CDI box. Of course old school porting, high comp. pistons, cams.. cant see this cutting down expenses. When you want to ride real speedway you have to get all new gear. Anyways, one thing that is ? for me. How does carbs like Keihin FCR with acceleration pumps work in speedway? Can you use a carb without one with normal CDI box that is connected to carb with position censor? Almost all new 450 engines have injectors those are very interesting also.
  11. Eh, how about not tuning those engines? In amateur speedway old Jawa 884 last for a life time. Engine parts are silly cheap compared to mx-engines. Funny to hear flat track guys saying that mx-engines are better and last for ever. So does speedway engine if you use full throttle only when you are going straight line. In mx you dont use full throttle for long times without gearing up or braking. And when you ride mx on the top level, full throttle when ever it is possible.. engines are tuned in every possible way and are rebuilt after every race.
  12. If you mean the university hospital next to the speedway track? things have changed a bit. I worked there for a spring few years ago. It seemed to be a very nice hospital with pretty good equipment.
  13. Speedway as part of X Games would be better than Olympics. Cant see any point of getting motorsports involved with corrupt doping powered money machine like the Olympic Games. I hope that the whole system would go down soon as possible.
  14. I would love to see some more sponsors who takes this stuff so seriously. Their athletes like Ken Roczen, Lindsey Vonn have been treated in their facilities to get fit and stronger to compete again.
  15. It is a miracle if he doesnt have a broken bone after that crash! I hope he is ok and able to ride rest of the GPs.
  16. Have to say that the battle between Emil and Tai is the best thing for speedway in long time. World Champion would be something that British speedway, sponsors, publicity needs. But on the other side gold medal for Emil would give huge kick for speedway in Russia. At the moment, I think that British speedway needs the kick more so I hope that Tai wins in the end.
  17. Oh man, new.. bad news about Kalle. There is a fracture in his jaw and it needs to be operated. Season could be over for him.
  18. Kalle got about a 5cm long cut under his chin. Hurt his neck a bit but nothing serious. Got this info from his facebook-page. Maybe a bit better next time. Any idea how they crashed? Im sure he will score some serious points soon. His self-confidence seemed to be top level when I saw him riding in Finland last time.
  19. ..give me the official date. Need to reserve some hotel rooms!!
  20. It aint a Mickey Mouse Cup if you ask Poles, Danes or Latvians. Latvian riders proofed that it aint gate and go track. It just needs speed and balls and put everything on the line and not drop your bike down when you get too close to rider in front. Funny to read how federation should give money to riders for better equipment and so on. Send those riders to other leagues to ride for money, feel home sickness, cant understand a word what people around you talks, to be edgy when realizing that if you do not make over six or eight points your contract will end and you are sent home and your dream of professional speedway rider will go down.
  21. Ask the Danes? Mini-speedway and later get your guys riding outside UK. Fight for those places in foreign leagues.
  22. I understand the city of Tampere why they would take Speedway GP with open arms. Saw some news from Tampere U23 European Championship Field and Track. The stadium was almost empty. Some people on the main stands and most of them were coaches and other athletes.
  23. Different tyre types isnt really what speedway needs. It would not lower the price of tyres needed and would only raise the budget needed. After speedway I rode motocross just or fun and thought about racing also. Found out that you need 3-4 sets of tyres to different surfaces (deep sand, hard clay, hard packed soil..). 150-200 euros per set. It would not make racing any worse if there would have been only one tyre type. But with specific tyres for every condition it is like Cold War, you have to have them to be competitive.
