  1. It does except for guest replacement for the home No 1 Yes
  2. That’s the route I’d use too - but I thought the main road route might be easier for anyone who doesn’t know the road! The traffic issues didn’t seem to keep too many people away from what was an excellent meeting.
  3. To Cambridge, possibly Whittlesey, March, Huntingdon, St Ives?
  4. Highways Agency website not much help. From Newmarket I would travel via Ely, March and Whittlesey - miss out the A14/A1 completely.
  5. That's not correct. It's simply an astute signing within the rules (Art 19.7).
  6. If anyone is interested in what I've put together showing how the Peterborough team changes this season were calculated please email me at neil@peterboroughpanthers.co
  7. Scott 7.74 Ulrich 7.41 Michael 6.68 Bradley 5.90 Emil 5.04 Simon 4.80 Tom 3.03 Team total 40.60 so 6.94 is the figure
  8. Because there are two different ‘kinds’ of green sheets - immediate changes where there is a team change, a rider gains an established CMA rather than assessed etc, and the monthly revised averages which are issued based on historic data. It is complex, especially when there’s a mixture of rolling and assessed averages and team changes over the month-end. I’ll come back to this later and try and illustrate how Panthers recent changes were arrived at.
  9. New averages were issued on 1st June (based on meetings up to 23rd May) which changed the team total and hence the scope for team changes. Sorry :-)
  10. A guest facility wouldn’t be available as Kennett is not in the top three of the Club averages - RR only to replace him.
  11. Not really strange, it’s the most recent average - that could be quite a while ago if injury or seasons away from the UK are taken into account.
  12. ‘To be correct’, Rider A remains in a declared 1-7 until replaced by Rider B - there is never an ‘empty place’ in a 1-7
  13. A rider uses his most recent average, which in this case would be a converted CL average attained in 2018 rather than a 2017 average.
  14. If we follow that path we will be ‘reverting’ not ‘redeclaring’ which is quite legitimate and doesn’t have the restrictions you suggest. Should Emil have already appeared in another 1-7 the option to revert would simply have not been available.
  15. That’s not correct, Pijper was not in the Redcar 1-7 once he was replaced by THJ - hence why he was free to be declared elsewhere.
  16. Agreed, my point was that Pijper was already declared elsewhere, so Redcar couldn’t revert had they wished to. Their use of an NDL guest WAS a facility (albeit the no-facility facility) - no other facility was available as Jorgensen hadn’t completed a meeting.
  17. That situation arose just a few days ago with Redcar, Thomas Jorgenson and Theo Pijper. (and no, a rider cannot appear in two 1-7s)
  18. I fear you misunderstand the principle and practice of team declarations. I can assure you however that there is not a ‘fast one’ here (except the riders involved.....).
  19. PETERBOROUGH’S injury jinx has struck again – with new signing Edward Kennett ruled out before even turning a wheel for the club. Kennett agreed a deal with the T.Balfe Construction Panthers last week to replace Emil Grondal, but he has now suffered a broken arm during his World Longtrack semi-final in the Czech Republic. The Great Britain star has been in touch with Panthers bosses, and has had a double fracture which is to be operated on when he returns to the UK. With Kennett yet to appear for the Panthers, they will revert to their previous team declaration whilst considering their next move. Promoter Ged Rathbone said: “It’s absolutely devastating news, we were very much looking forward to having Edward in the team, and naturally we wish him all the best. “With him not having ridden for us yet there would be no facility for him, so we have to revert to our declaration including Emil Grondal and look at our options again. “The management are already in talks over what to do next, hopefully we’ll be able to pull another rabbit out of the hat, but our thoughts are very much with Edward and the other injured lads.” ENDS
  20. As I said, it is not the BSPA Rule Book - see page 1 of this document http://www.britishspeedway.co/2018_speedway_regulations_online.pdf
  21. Each of those decisions complies with the Rule Book (which incidentally is produced and implemented by the SCB not the BSPA). Whether you think the rules need amending is a different matter entirely. Its worth noting that the seven-day suspension for sickness/non-speedway injury is a new addition to the Rule Book this year. I see Tsunami posted while I was typing, he explains the reasoning behind the rules very clearly.
  22. To add to this, if there’s a tie for qualification for the semi-final, the tie is determined initially by ‘who beat who’, if that heat was a 3-3 then the team taking second and third will be considered the better placed team.
  23. Would you care to explain exactly what the BSPA have ‘done’ with Redcar?
