Coventry v Mildenhall - 29 July 2018
NeilWatson replied to Mimmo's topic in National League Speedway
COVENTRY can confirm Sunday's match against Mildenhall at Leicester is definitely ON with a 6pm start. The club cannot use the stadium for their usual 3pm start, but with the meeting pushed back by three hours, it does go ahead. Coventry Speedway would like to thank the Mildenhall promotion for their understanding in agreeing to the change of start time. -
No it isn’t, but... Buxton have almost two points spare in their overall team total so Atkin could replace Cockle

+/- measures away match points won less home match points lost and is a measure of form when the number of matches raced is unequal.
-
You would be correct - and don’t forget that on a +/- basis Workington are actually the top team!

To have the Grandstand open fully requires eight qualified Stewards together with a Level 3 supervisor; as a consequence of the overall seating capacity of the stand. A further three stewards are required around the perimeter of the track. If that number are not available to us, we have to reduce the effective capacity of the stand to suit. We appreciate this may mean some fans cannot view from their preferred seat, for which we apologise, however there are seats available for all who wish to sit to watch the racing. Our appeal for fans willing to undergo training to join the stewarding team remains open.

Panthers v Scunthorpe 13th July 2018

PETERBOROUGH have turned to Jake Allen for a guest booking in Sunday’s showdown with champions Sheffield at the East of England Arena (5pm). Allen made a hugely impressive appearance for regular club Scunthorpe on Friday, when he racked up 12+2, and has always scored well at Alwalton for the Scorpions and also Somerset. The Australian comes in because Ulrich Ostergaard is ruled out following his Friday crash, with the T.Balfe Construction Panthers awaiting the full extent of the damage. Other than that, however, the table-topping Panthers are at full strength as they go for a seventh successive win in all competitions to take another big step towards the play-offs. Opponents Sheffield have not enjoyed the best of fortunes in their defence of the Championship title, and are yet to pick up an away point from five matches. However, they rode strongly at Lakeside on Friday before going down to a 51-39 defeat, with captain Kyle Howarth making his comeback from a shoulder injury. Former Panther Lasse Bjerre misses out after a crash at Owlerton last week, but Ty Proctor has been booked to guest and already has previous at Peterborough this season, having scored a paid maximum for Workington. The Tigers also include exciting American newcomer Broc Nicol, whilst Redcar’s Jordan Stewart makes a guest appearance at reserve for the longtracking James Shanes. Panthers boss Carl Johnson said: “It will be another tough meeting, we expect that every week here and that’s what we’re getting – it certainly keeps all the boys on their toes! “We want to see entertaining racing and hard-fought meetings, and Sheffield will be keen to prove a point even though they’re coming with a few injuries, and a couple of riders coming back. “Jake was very impressive on Friday night and we did a deal straight after the meeting for him to come back and guest for us. He was keen to do it, and we feel that’s better than using rider-replacement.” Supporters are reminded that Sunday’s meeting is a single match – the planned double-header will now take place next month – and start-time is 5pm. PETERBOROUGH: Scott Nicholls, Simon Lambert, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Michael Palm Toft, Jake Allen, Emil Grondal, Tom Bacon. SHEFFIELD: Kyle Howarth, Todd Kurtz, Ty Proctor, Broc Nicol, Charles Wright, Georgie Wood, Jordan Stewart. ENDS -
No individual rider would be able to guest for Danny in 'all home matches' - as he's not No 1 by average the 8-day rule would prevent this. Peterborough are racing on Friday

Panthers v Scunthorpe 13th July 2018

PETERBOROUGH will now stage just one meeting this Sunday (July 15) in a bid to minimise the effect of a clash with the football World Cup Final. The T.Balfe Construction Panthers will still host Sheffield in the Championship, but the other half of a planned double-header has now been put back. Lakeside, who were due to visit in the quarter-finals of the Knockout Cup, have now agreed to return to the East of England Arena on Sunday August 5, when the match will form a double-header with the Championship clash with Ipswich. Start-time for Sheffield will depend on the World Cup situation. Should England defeat Croatia and reach the Final, Panthers’ clash with the Tigers will start at 7.30pm, which would allow ample time even should the football go to extra time and penalties. If England are beaten on Wednesday, the usual 5pm start-time will apply on Sunday. Promoter Ged Rathbone said: “We’ve given this a great deal of thought, and whilst again we apologise for running on the same day as the World Cup Final, it’s simply unavoidable. “We just can’t take the date out, but by moving the double-header into August it does mean that supporters should have time to watch the football and the speedway should England reach the Final as we all hope they do. “I’d like to thank Lakeside for their co-operation, and this schedule should also make things easier for the fans as it means one double-header meeting only that weekend, rather than three home matches in three days on top of everything else at the moment. “We still have a massive weekend to look forward to with Scunthorpe on Friday (7.30pm) and Sheffield on Sunday, and if we can keep the momentum up with wins in both it will be another big step towards the play-offs. “And with a double-header to come against two of our closest rivals in Ipswich and Lakeside, that also promises to be a fantastic meeting.” SUMMARY FRIDAY JULY 13 – Peterborough v Scunthorpe (Championship) SUNDAY JULY 15 – Peterborough v Sheffield (Championship) SUNDAY AUGUST 5 – Peterborough v Ipswich (Championship) followed by Peterborough v Lakeside (KO Cup) ENDS
