  1. If Workington beat Glasgow, semi-final qualification is in our own hands. If Glasgow win at Workington tomorrow, Workington could then still push us out of the reckoning by taking a four-point win at Edinburgh.
  2. It seems self evident that when lobbying for a return of speedway to Coventry (at Brandon or elsewhere) it will carry more weight that the Bees are having to race elsewhere as there is no suitable stadium in Coventry than that the Club is defunct but could be reformed in the right circumstances.

  4. Thanks, I was doing it on my phone from Birmingham and didn't notice that option.
  5. GREAT Britain international Edward Kennett has become Peterborough’s second mid-season signing as they look to avert their injury crisis.Kennett comes in for the T.Balfe Construction Panthers as a replacement for Emil Grondal, who crashed heavily in Denmark last week with his recovery time unclear at this stage. And with Bradley Wilson-Dean also on board to replace Nike Lunna, it means there will be something of a new look to the Panthers when they visit Glasgow in their next Championship fixture a week on Friday (June 8).Promoter Ged Rathbone said: “Once again, this is a case of us needing to act due to injuries, and we weren’t looking to make changes prior to Nike and then Emil getting hurt.“But having been in touch with Emil since his crash, it’s clear that he could be looking at longer than five or six weeks out, and we just can’t afford to run with rider-replacement given the number of matches over that period.“We have six matches in June and as we keep saying it’s such a short season this year that if you have a bad run when you’re not at full strength, it can virtually be season over.“Edward is an experienced rider who had been looking for a Championship team place, and the opportunity was there to bring him in without disrupting the rest of the side, which is also important for us.“I’ve explained the situation to Emil, who’s done absolutely nothing wrong – it’s simply a case of us feeling that a full team is very much the stronger option than doing at least six or seven matches, and possibly more than that, with rider-replacement.“We’ll continue to work with both Nike and Emil, and should they regain fitness prior to the transfer deadline then they have a chance of being put back in – and that should also keep everyone else on their toes.“We wish them both all the best for their recoveries and we look forward to seeing them back at the East of England Arena soon.”Kennett’s home debut will come up against Glasgow on Sunday June 10, which is the first of three Alwalton fixtures in the month – also including the potentially vital Shield clash with Ipswich on June 17.
  6. No offence taken here, I knew what he meant!
  7. The issues run consecutively, once an average is shown effective 26/5 that just carries on through each issue. No uncertainty here
  8. That's not correct - Matthew Wether's new average of 4 00 is effective from 26th May.
  9. Because no rider (other than a rider eligible to ride in the NDL) can have an effective average lower than 4.00. (See Art 16.2.6)
  10. The comment also shows his total lack of understanding of how averages are calculated. and applied.
  11. PETERBOROUGH’S Emil Grondal is recovering after a high-speed crash in Denmark on Wednesday. Grondal was involved in an horrific pile-up with Patrick Hougaard during Holstebro’s Super League match at Grindsted. He suffered multiple injuries including a cracked (but not broken) hip, a punctured lung and internal bleeding. A major concern was that he did not have full feeling in his legs after the crash; however, this has now thankfully returned, although he is unable to take the weight of walking at this stage. Panthers promoter Ged Rathbone said: “I’ve spoken to people who were there, they tell me this was a dreadful crash and there’s absolutely no doubt that Emil’s neck brace and helmet saved him from very, very serious injuries. “He’s been completely battered down his right-hand side especially, but he’s going to be attempting to walk again later today hopefully, and obviously it’s a huge relief that the feeling is back in his legs. “This sort of thing is another reminder of the dangers of the sport, and the risks the riders take for their careers and for our entertainment. “Despite his injuries, Emil is a typical speedway rider so he’s already talking about hopefully getting back racing by the middle of June! “Over the next few days we’ll get a clearer idea of whether that will be possible, and we have a break in our own schedule at the moment so we’ll keep in touch with him and monitor his recovery process. “Emil made a great start to the season with us, he’s come back to the club in good shape and we hope he isn’t going to be out for too long.” All at Peterborough Speedway would like to wish Emil well for his recovery, and we look forward to seeing him back at the East of England Arena as soon as possible. 12. I’ve explained above why the CL average wasn’t used. Not sure how using 5.90 rather than 5.61 is to our advantage!
  13. Not in Bradley’s case as he has established averages not assessed averages - it’s simply that his established Premiership average is more recent than his established Championship average. (Art 16.2.1.6)
  14. That’s always been the case, the BWD situation is a bit of an outlier as he’s ridden CL in 2018, simply not achieved a new average at the appropriate time.
  15. Art 16.2.7 states that the most recently established MA will be used. Bradley gained a Premiership MA on 1st May, but he did not gain a Championship MA on 1st May (as he hadn't ridden in the CL prior to 24th April) , hence his Premiership MA is the most recently established one so is converted for his inclusion in our team.
  16. Bradley Wilson Dean comes into the Peterborough team on his converted PL average of 5.90 (Art 16.2.7).
  17. PETERBOROUGH have moved to bring 2017 team member Bradley Wilson-Dean back to the club. The New Zealand star returns to the T.Balfe Construction Panthers as a replacement for Nike Lunna, who broke his ankle in a crash when guesting for Workington at Scunthorpe last Friday. Wilson-Dean is available after completing a short-term stint with the Comets as injury cover, and ironically showed his liking for the East of England Arena with a bumper 13+1 score in their victory over the Panthers earlier this month. And with five Championship matches and a vital Shield fixture against Ipswich coming up during the month of June, promoter Ged Rathbone says they had to make a new signing rather than rely on the rider-replacement facility. He said: “It’s very unfortunate for Nike, who has been a pleasure to deal with, but it looks like he is going to be out for at least six weeks and we really can’t cover for that length of absence. “We keep saying it’s a short season this year and we felt we couldn’t afford to risk letting things run away from us by continuing to use rider-replacement. “If it’s mid-to-late July before Nike gets back then that’s a big chunk of the season gone, so we’ve had to act to maintain our strength, and hopefully our position in the table. “Bradley knows ourselves and the track well so I’m confident he will slot straight back in, and he certainly showed us what he can do when he rode here with Workington recently. “I do feel for Nike, we wish him well for his recovery and we would certainly be happy to work with him again in the future.” Wilson-Dean will make his seasonal Panthers debut in the trip to Glasgow on June 8, with the return fixture at the East of England Arena on Sunday June 10.
