  1. the rest of the team used to drop Points so he would get his six , even though I take the P with third place , he was part of some of my favourite bees teams .and always gave his best , great charisma and a great character to have in the team . wonder what place he was when he lost hos engine Lol
  2. 1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 would have been Rick 3rd place Miller
  3. the failures at Northampton began long before a wheel was turned ,, it was almost a secret except to speedway fans ,that Northampton were opening . lots of potential fans not even aware there was going to be speedway ,,it was a massive investment to get Northampton up and running , and IMHO some of that money would have been better placed elsewhere , bribing a current championship team to step up . and investing in Northampton to start in accordance with the bspa rules and run in the championship , A championship season would give newbies a good few new teams to watch ,not the same 5 over and over , and championship fans a new venue to see , seems like a winner to me , a successful first season ,building and retaining their own fanbase ,and revenue from away team supporters while a home fanbase built up ,,season 2 a step up a league allowing the bribed team to step back down
  4. go back five years before the BSPA killed the midland and southern leagues . a cost free gravy train of young british riders . a good few who went on to make the grade . but stupidity and greed put an end to what was the best training ground for young riders ..
  5. I dont think the FIM give a toss about speedway .except the money they can take from licensing and FIM event promoters , they certainly don't care enough to to make any effort to promote speedway across the world , they actually do very little on behalf of speedway. and apart from the loss of money wouldn't care if speedway no longer existed
  6. Since the british leagues are pandering to Poland , exactly how many riders are there riding here ,who wouldn't be if we went back to 7 days a week speedway . and and not being dictated to who can and cannot ride on any given date ?
  7. correct . the guy was struggling , generators getting nicked , having to run a business to keep his head above water and try to run the track aswell . Bspa helpful as usual handing out fines to add to his woes , finally taking his deposit . another track the Bspa closed ,,
  8. the best kept sporting secret ever . opening night massive crowd of people who support other teams . 3 weeks in and tiny crowd ..they should be marketing it on social media , give the team a name at least theres plenty of Speedway fans internet savvy enough to create a razamatazz , Speedway has far too long relied on its dwindling fanbase to advertise it , and this is a classic exmaple . failing to prepare is preparing to fail !!!
  9. It was colin who was the rubbishbag . Mick took that flack
  10. do illucidate on the fake programs comment ,
  11. ran a rubbish show when nobody else wanted to
  12. Yes . When sandhu stood down from speedway. And offered the promotion for grabs. With the hundreds who were wanting to take it on and mick Horton got the nod. How surprising. It’s almost like he was the only one who was prepared to give it a go and without him spoedway would have been all over at Coventry
  13. Imagine starting a completely new team in a new sport in a new venue. And just over a month to go. No team name no players signed. No website . Absolutely zero information . The people in the surrounding area who are the demographic who would form the support for the venture know absolutely nothing about the exciting new entertainment which will be coming to their doorstep in a matter of weeks. A completely ridiculous situation and only speedway. Could f:;k up an opportunity like it .even hardcore fans of speedway are completely in the dark about iit.
  14. reckon there might be a problem using Cobblers . bound to be at the very least complaints form the footy
  15. Only someone who knows nothing about Henry Cole , would make the sort of ridiculous uninformed comments , like piston has.

  17. The old car factory at ryton would have been Ideal , but at the time SOME people ,still trusted Sandhu to come good on his promises
  18. I think they did sometime back , but back then B.E still thought their plans were going to be a walk in the park , since then Communication with them seems to have withered ..
  19. That piece of land is already earmarked ,in fact they may have already started to build a new technology park , as an industrial site it has connectioins within yards to the M6 M69 and M1 , it must be worth a fortune for that alone ,
  20. They have and they got turned down , thats down to the clout of the applicant , Brandon Estates area whole different league , Like I said in a earlier post , if a big money developer wants (needs if they want to build on brandon without protest ) they get , I would imagine B.E have the legal dept that would deal with a few complaints or a tardy council in an instant , anyway your'e about to see what they can do , because despite all the protestations and claims of govt. directives ,they will overthrow the lot and build on Brandon , better to try and get them to build a new place , before they force their way ,and build on brandon
  21. Sandhu owned the garden centre as well ,he applied for permission to build a hotel but that got turned down , just like all his permission for the stadium site . so maybe he or his nonexistent partner sold that to brandon estates as well
  22. A track with limited facilities is probably the best that should be hoped for now , and elswhere than Brandon as well , far too much time and effort has been wasted locking horns with Brandon Estates , If there is to be a future for the Bees , then it needs a shrewd negotiator to convince Brandon Estates that it is to their benefit to compromise and finance a new smaller project , and that will free up Brandon for their ultimate goal . one thing s for sure .they are not going to be bullied by a few Govt directives as they have already shown . and the fires and Gipsy incursions will continue until theres nothing left , as it is .a property developer has far more clout than anybody ,and where a site may be rejected on enquiry from Individuals , it won't be rejected so easliy by a comapany with massive finance , Most people would agree property companies do as they please and always get what they want , if they wanted a speedway stadium because they needed one ,they would get it .
  23. I think you missed the point a bit . it's not me who Is RIGHT
