  1. Nope , My lad kept going far too long , putting up with all the crap and 2 faced people , until he was forced by family commitments to take a short break , within weeks and without any conversation between us I knew the penny had dropped , that there WAS life outside speedway and he would not be going back , It never cost me a bean , because he has a really well paid job , and I was self employed .so the time off didn't matter , he has an account of every penny he ever spent on speedway . believe me it would make your eyes water if you saw it , then again you would most likely think I made it up , like you did with my previous comments
  2. At cradley heath ,they used to have to beginning od wipeout , looped so than in the event of a cradley 5-1 they could play it as a derogotory jingle . we made a taped loop of the same thing .and took a ghetto blaster with us . when the beess got 5-1 s over them we pressed play on ghetto blaster !!! wore a set of batteries out in no time
  3. another reason why some of these promising youngsters "Take a break" . They stumble into speedway from other motorcycle sports which are basicly amateur , MX ,grasstrack , trials , all weekend sport , initially supported by family ,but when that bubble bursts and it starts to impact on daddies work and the family budget , they decide to take a break , once they are outside the sport they realise what it actually takes to commit to speedway , and it's just too big a hurdle to return
  4. They smile in your face .all the time they wanna take your place ..... the backstabbers . speak to any speedway rider and you will hear what they think you want to hear , your'e less likely to hear the truth , than if you were talking to a politician !! . However speedway in Europe not Poland though ( and yes I have done a fair bit of that as well ) is the exact opposite .
  5. Hardly .. He's in a league of his own !!
  6. someone who spends all day raving about his latest know it all stupid idea on facebook , and constantly coming up with conspircarcies against the BSPA and individiual promoters . absolute nutcase
  7. I do believe there could be a way forward for the Club but that would probably mean the promotion would need to move over and let someone else take over the reigns . seems like an idea put forward to me
  8. and don@t forget the gov't forcing HMRC to give tax discounts . just like wembley .all the non football taxpayers pay more for football than it's supporters ever will ..
  9. Good idea . why not give it to Mark Robinson ?. The future would be in no doubt then .
  10. Lets face it . it must be hard to keep your motivation with Robinson stirring trouble at everey opportunity ,and a few idiots listening to his rantings and encouraging him , I would have given up years back or paid somebody to permanently silence him ,
  11. cracks have to start somewhere . amybe the crack got started during the IOW match ? It's not unusual for examiners to turn up with their jobsworth heads on , we once had a bike rejected at peterborough because there was no bolt to stop the chain whipping if it broke , there was no bolt because the latest JHR frames at the time incorporated it into the rear loop ther next day as soon as we wheeled it in to Mildenhall the examiner went straight to it and said you can't use it , Then Tommy Nicholls (Scotts dad ) pointed out the error of his ways . machine examiners have no qualification whatsoever , at an MDL meeting at Scunny a bloke asked me how to adjust ther chain on his sons bike . 4 weeks later he was waltzing around the pits at my local track ,proudly displaying his machine examiners tags
  12. The truth is what you read on the original post , I have no intention of getting into a debate about what speedway is actually like behind the scenes ,with someone who readily admits his/her knowledge of speedway is what he/'she, sees and hears from the grandstand , I have been involved in speedway the other side of the fence for more than 30 years , If you don't agree with any of my post , thats tough because theres plenty who do .and who are far more knowledgable than you about what goes on behind the scenes
  13. No He's the father of an Ex rider ..
  14. Agree with the poison chalice comment but I woudn't put Vatcher in charge of a primary school disco ..
  15. Actually a team place in the NL . commits the whole family 7 days a week . it may only be dad attending meetings , but the impact is on the whole family , mums washing suits and feeding the troops . dad trying to earn a living and clean maintain bikes . just to give the lads a little glimpse of some sort of normal life , no holidays , no weekends off because theres always something needs doing . then theres the team manager who in NL is generally a wannabe asshole who couldn't manage a pissup in a brewery , adding pressure expecting too much . + the back stabbing from other riders , It's not pretty ,, Lads who have come from Grasstrack or MX must wonder what the hell they have let themselves in for , being used to friendly atmosphere . and encouragemant from other riders . riding when you want and not when you don't , and stepping into the cesspit that is the speedway pits !!
  16. yes he is , I should think he has more exclusions for tape breaking and foul riding than any other rider ever has had
  17. and aggresive as well , anyway I'm off , Coco has arrived to approve all your replies
  18. your'e a bit of a beligerent oaf aren't you , have you nothing better to do with your time than come on here trying to create arguments ,
  19. If we were to have 2 ,I think the Cardiff one should be the one when the weather looks most Iffy , NSS is a great racetrack and a GP with the worlds top riders would be some spectacle
  20. First GP In Manchester ? there would be more people asking for odds on a rainoff than Odds for a winner
  21. maniacs who keep knocking people off and busting the tapes because they are desperate , always lose out
  22. I only know of the problems caused by the Rugby chariman , keith ??? . I used to help Dave Ratt ,with the track shop until it closed ,
