  1. Unfortunately upright engines are not the answer to any of speedways problems as much as I would love them to be
  2. I will be talking about the lack of riders on speedway 360 podcast in a couple of weeks and how we go about getting more riders involved
  3. There were around 25 from wolves who went to Buxton when they were in national league 8 years ago but even 50-100 is a £1-2000£ a meeting more, not going to happen anyway

While I agree with this, Buxton with the right promotion could attract around 700, it’s location has a good catchment area of closed down tracks and I believe if it were wolves they would get a few hundred go, they didn’t go to Birmingham in numbers because it wasn’t wolves although there were a few most weeks and more when Leicester were there with their ex wolves riders, I know this cause I spoke with lots of them who wouldn’t go to Bham because of this as I said it a ridiculous idea but not as ridiculous as some being banded about, it surely has to be less financial risk than Northampton? Who has no previous fan base and is 40+ miles to the nearest ex track ? I know the rent is considerably cheaper at Buxton and it’s around 50 miles to Buxton from wolves and it’s less than 20 from stoke , this isn’t ideal by any stretch of the imagination but neither is running a nomad team with no home track and yes the current wolves promotion are not interested

I’m with you on this, other than some sort of big deal I can’t see what they going to do that isn’t worse than last year, I have said for a few years maybe the top teams should ask to join the polish extraleague but the poles won’t let that happen so that’s a no go, I was told moths ago that something way different was happening but they wouldn’t say what but heard nothing since but a couple of things I heard recently which I know are true are very troubling but are complete contradictions to what is out there in the public domain and just don’t make sense at all, the bit that really throws the curveball is the Harry Redknapp thing, that man does nothing for nothing, he is on an earner somewhere and speedway on the face of it hasn’t got a pot to piss in so what’s the deal ?

The more I think about it the more I don’t know why they don’t run a premiership team out of Buxton, the rent is cheap enough and with the right promotion I would think they could get around 700 crowd, maybe if it was run as Wolverhampton then more than 700 is possible? it’s sounds ridiculous but no more ridiculous than some of the ideas I hear being banded around at the moment, it doesn’t have lights at the moment but that surely isn’t an unclimbable hill

  9. This is on the riders, they stick together and say no and it goes away, it’s that simple
  10. It’s trivial, at this point in time we haven’t got a sport, we need to sort that out before we even contemplate how teams are made up

  12. You are right I don’t know that and I’m not party to any official information regarding speedway futures or the bspl although I do hear things which I know are true and either don’t make sense or are troubling
  13. But my point being most of the BSPL members seem to have been cut out the deal and they will have to accept whatever crumbs they are offered
  14. By the sound of it that’s exactly what British speedway will be getting but I’m sure the sail off into the sunset will be a pleasant one for the few, Harry Redknapp doesn’t give a flying F**k about speedway and he does nothing for nothing
  15. So basically some of the BSPL have set up a company (speedway futures Ltd)to get a media deal for British speedway which they will sell to themselves (BSPL) and keep a finders fee for themselves (speedway futures )excluding the rest of the BSPL from the profits or have I got that wrong ?
  16. What is the actual job of speedway futures Ltd ? Are they running British speedway ? Are they trying to find a sky sports type deal for the sport and then sell it to the bspl (themselves) and keep a finders fee like Russel did last time ?
  17. 5 teams won’t work, surely they know this, at this rate by 2027 we will have the equivalent of the Oxford/Cambridge boat race

I think the current rev limiter is set at 12,500, on track with the drag of the wheel they rev to about 10-11000 at most British tracks,at the start line without the drag of the wheel they rev to about 12,000 but sometimes you can hear some riders hit the limiter, without the limiter they would probably hit 13,500 revs
  19. 3 riders of the modern era that stand out are zmarzlik who rides like he is stretching his throttle cables but very tidy and smooth, sayfutinow who rides with his body very upright on the bike even at the start gate and bewley who you can tell he has a motox background because the way he rides the bottom of the fence like a berm in motox
  20. He said he had a spin last year in Queensland for the first time since he retired and it was a disaster
