  1. Maybe but another self appointed character and that is what speedway futures is all about, get a deal of some company and keep the finders fee for themselves, yes that is business but speedway isn’t theirs to market, they haven’t paid for it, they have just took it and started a new company
  2. A bit like Russel squeezed his 2 million out of the sky deal
  3. And this goes for most teams supporters, at the speedway show I asked as many supporters I could what they would rather have and most said 1 big league especially if the premier was going to be 5 teams, surely the 5 teams can see this ??
  4. Don’t hold you’re breathe, people like Harry and Sir’s don’t do nothing for nothing, they are on to an earner some how and it seems to be at speedways expense, all is not well in speedway circles and I don’t think the self appointed saviours of speedway are exactly endearing themselves to a section of the bspl
  5. Question is who next ? I see Hugh Edwards is making a making a comeback, could he be the next high profile person to reveal his long time love of speedway, it’s hard to believe speedway is in the state it’s in with all these folk declaring they were secret speedway fans all along
  6. Sir Phillip Davies is on the British greyhound board and is a big advocate of gambling, could this be where speedway is heading ?
  7. British speedway is saved, hurrah 🥳 sir Phillip Davies is appointed by speedway futures Ltd, he loves speedway so much he said the same quote as Harry Redknapp on his appointment, personally I was having my doubts about British speedway surviving but this appointment has restored my hope for the future 😳
  8. Funny enough I did say in some indirect way the Mrs was to blame, she didn’t agree 😂
  9. This time is different, anyone know how to hack into a zoom call, we could all watch with great interest
  10. Derek is planning to do a live Xmas special 360podcast on FB what could possibly go wrong 😂
  11. I suffer from gout now and again and they can’t find out why, at first they say cut out alcohol, I haven’t drunk alcohol in about 30 years so not that it’s been blamed on tomatoes,Christmas cake, oasis the drink, surprised it’s not been blamed on oasis the band, various other things all of which I cut out and then it came back so obviously wasn’t them and imo it is by far the worst pain I’ve ever suffered and that includes all the crashes and broken bones I’ve had, anyway anyone got any premier league news ?
  12. I said it previously even before they got took for £1000s imo there is a family fued in the background, wasn’t Martin and Jon cook kicked out by Eric ?
  13. Eric and Paul were both riders, think that makes them speedway people
  14. No wolves dig up and grown over, rye house is an all weather pitch and I think kent grown over too
  15. Yes it is but I believe it’s too expensive for league racing and it’s now owned by the rugby again
  16. It confused the hell out of me I’m colourblind 😂
  17. I think there is clearly some sort of family fued going on in the background which I think was going on before Eastbourne closed and then the ian Jordon closed it owing them money and that was the final nail in the coffin as far as the family was concerned, it’s a shame but family issues run deeper than business sometimes. M D on here knows more than me about it
  18. As I see it these are the options 1 mildenhall 2 Buxton 3 Isle of Wight 4 Northampton 5 iwade 6 one big league, all have there problems/costs/downsides, mildenhall track fence issues and can’t get scb licence for track, Buxton basic and needs lights and some other work done but is cheap rent, iow everything is perfect with stadium but ferry’s and crowd levels out of Summer season are a problem, Northampton is excess of £100,000 with no gaurentee of a fan base, iwade very very basic but do get very good crowds, 1 big league imo the best option but seemingly not a view shared with the famous 5
  19. The lights would run off a generator just like the rest of the electric there, you could run it with 3 posts like lakeside did on the center green, at Carmarthen back in the day we run a night meeting with the lights borrowed from the roadworks on the A365 over the valleys, they worked ok,there was a load of lights brought by Ken moss back in the day but never got put up but they probably rotten now, Buxton can run on any day so clashes is easily avoided, at this point I don’t think the 30 mile rule would apply, they are desperate,, this is nby no means an ideal solution but it’s where we are as a sport and from what I hear about the costs at Northampton it’s a damn sight cheaper
  20. Great bit of publicity from Glasgow, showing the sport a way forward, meanwhile in the premiership they still can’t decide which bus to catch
  21. Upgrades ? It needs lights which isn’t a big deal, yes it’s basic but the other options like Northampton are ridiculous money, one other option is the Isle of Wight, good track and stadium, downside they wouldn’t get the crowds especially out of summer season to sustain a top level wages
  22. A month back I posted the only real viable option or at least the one that was going to cost the least amount of money, Buxton, it’s rent is peanuts, it has derby matches against Sheffield and belle vue and has a catchment area of former tracks like stoke and Wolverhampton, no it’s not ideal but if they insist on a 6th team then it’s the one that will cost the promoters the least amount of money
  23. Unfortunately speedway has too many mercenary’s and hangers on for its own good, we missed a trick in 2020 to reset the sport onto a different better path and it looks like we are going to miss another chance and plod our way into 2026
