  1. I can’t say what actually happened at the meeting but in a nutshell cradley have to convince the council that speedway is the right thing for the area where it is being proposed, that sounds straightforward to me and you but not to non speedway people
  2. I like the other main two but some of the younger ones especially on 11 sport seem abit out of place
  3. Ok I will reword it for you, she has been in a relationship with them, is that better for you? Adrian miedzinski being the last speedway rider but I believe she married someone else now
  4. Well she been to bed with a few of them 😉
  5. I don’t have a problem with any of them although I’d admit kelvin does seem to be making more and more mistakes, I dislike a couple of BSNs presenters more but they don’t detract from the overall product, for me TNT just comes across like an amatuer film crew that have no idea how speedway ticks and they don’t actually want to be there, maybe it’s because BSN actually come from within the sport, most have been through a fence or two and understand how the sport ticks where Tatum and Louis have to put their speedway perspective through someone who has gone through media training and wouldn’t know a speedway bike from a biscuit tin, it happens in all walks of life sadly and in the case of TNT it shows
  6. I still get a buzz no matter which side of the fence I’m on, I gave up being a spannerman because I got a bit fed up with it, I did it a lot of years often alongside racing myself but I am a bit fussy who I work for and have turned down a few, not because I don’t like them but because I just didn’t think we would click as a working team but I have filled in for a couple of riders as one offs
  7. It’s been said elsewhere but speedway shown on BSN is a world apart from the one shown on TNT and you would think that would be the case with discovery’s multi billion pound resorces and BSNs small pot but it’s the other way around, BSN capture the essence of the sport and TNT don’t catch anything, I actually find TNT coverage quite mundane and sometimes tedious, it’s not the commentators or presenters it’s the whole package, it just misses completely the soul and passion of the sport and broadcasts it like it’s being forced to, I can’t say I’m sad to see it go and will happily be subscribing to BSN next season
  8. I can tell you from vast experience from a mechanics point of view from heat 1 to heat 15 the meeting feels like it’s going 1000 mph, you rarely get to see any other races except your riders races and you are constantly working on the bikes inbetween his races and if you are a trusted and long term mechanic (not just for a night )the intensity is amplified because their race win/loss becomes your win/loss and from a riders point of view depending on how involved you are with your bikes the meeting ticks along just nicely, it is a completely different experience to the fan experience and far more intense
  9. Well done Poole, can’t say they didn’t deserve it, fantastic speedway from both sides, great nights entertainment
  10. And that would be the final nail in the coffin for speedway, it’s a tough game, nobody fell off, it’s racing
  11. So who is the sport management team that speedway futures has been set up to deal with? Matchroom sports? Or am I just dreaming
  12. Can’t say I’m really sad about TNT, imo they have done nothing to better the sport
  13. There is a point to this question as it’s a bit of work I’m doing for the a future episode of the 360 podcast, who would you say is the 5 most popular riders in current British speedway ? Not the best but the most popular
  14. I was born in Wolverhampton and have always been a wolves fan and always will be but when I joined Berwick in 1999 and 2000 it became like a second home, I loved it there, the Berwick folk made me feel like one of theirs, often stayed up there with the meldrums and was often in the town or on the beach, loved the place and still do, so it definitely captured my heart
  15. While I agree with all of that it had no real bearing on the decline of the popularly of the sport, 95% of the fan base past and present couldn't tell the difference between a jap and a offset GM let alone how many valves it had, what changed was the riders and teams and the bond with them by the fans, it became them and us instead of one of us
  16. Here is an out there scenario, think of Ryan Reynolds taking over Wrexham football Club and having it filmed and a documentary made by Netflix. Harry redknapp taking over a speedway club (Northampton) and having it filmed for a documentary series on Netflix bringing in much needed revenue and exposure for the sport, a bit too out there ??
  17. There were no him and cradley though ,he had his issues with the 3 because in his eyes they were creaming money off the cradley name but even if that was the case and I didn’t see it that way that’s no reason to carry that on with the heathens next generation, or Workington or anywhere else he choose to pick on
  18. The play offs are popular, not with everyone but in an age where every penny counts while it gets crowds it’s here to stay, individual meetings or 4tt or pairs are just not well supported anymore unfortunately, as I’ve banged on about for a while the bikes are no faster today than forty years ago, what is faster is the speed of the back wheel which has increased decade on decade but race times are relatively the same and in the last 2 years seem actually to be slower, the 4 valve engine had no real bearing on the popularity of the sport, it just happened at the same time of the decline but it wasn’t the cause, the return of the 2 valve engine isn’t going to make the sport any more popular, it won’t change anything except maybe a bit of cost, price is a factor though but the decline of speedway is 90% what happens outside the safety fence, the bond between the fans and riders has been lost
  19. That’s my point, has it even got a scheduled date ?
  20. Anyone know if there is any speedway in the uk next season ? The silence on all fronts is deafening
  21. I don’t actually know and I’m not sure he actually knows either, he is just a trouble maker for the sport and particularly cradley it’s a shame as a couple of points he makes about the sport are valid ones but he is just tarnishing his reputation as a rider in a lot of peoples eyes, imo he is best just ignored, I certainly wasn’t going to give him the publicity he craves on the podcast
  22. Yes, he is rubbing a lot of folk up the wrong way
  23. Basically I said what had already been said on the local Black Country radio before by heathens next generation and didnt say anything I was told not to say, publicly is golden and they need all the publicity they can get
