  1. Don’t know but whatever day it is I’m busy that day doing something else that day
  2. Well that’s certainly a point of view and you are entitled to it
  3. 4 laps of dan bewley might just have saved cardiff in the minds of the public , well done dan
  4. Come on get on with it I’ve got to walk the dog
  5. Bet Eurosport thought that was the Chris Harris who won the GP
  6. This showcase is a shambles, this should be a wake up call, tracks, engines ,tyres, admission prices ,will it ? Will it bollox
  7. This is a dreadful meeting, I know it’s always better being there but this is just flat
  8. Admittedly the crowd is down but still 1000s there making a lot of noise and atmosphere but Eurosport yet again fail to capture the atmosphere and the live experience, considering the big hoorah from Eurosport I’ve been totally underwhelmed with their involvement in speedway
  9. I believe Chris has broken vertebrae, sternum and ribs , Tim has just a few cuts and bruises, hopefully both back on track soon
  10. I think so, I see him at various meetings but not sure of his speedway background but the age fits and he is from that neck of the woods
  11. Was at the Isle of Wight last night, went a long way to put my faith back in speedway, Barry and martin understand the importance of the fans, great slick show geared towards the fans, meeting was marred by a horrific crash involving Chris mackett and Tim Curnock which resulted in a meeting being abandoned and the air ambulance being called , hope the guys are ok but that aside it is a fantastic slick show and very good value for money
  12. After a meeting at hull back in the 90s I along with Martin Dixon and I think the other may have been David Walsh got engine checked, this was the year when they made you drill a hole from barrel to cases so as they could put a clip through so that you couldn’t take the head off without breaking the clip, we were told after heat 10 I think, I had only scored a couple of points but I got the feeling at the time that they weren’t after me but it had to appear random, anyway I think we were all ok as nobody got banned
  13. Riders actually clearly affected by drugs at a meeting is a rarity, but taking drugs socially between meetings is not
  14. Oh Don’t get me started on that filthy habit, it’s disgusting
  15. This is what I was told at the weekend by someone in the FIM a rider was suspected of taking drugs and the testing people were alerted and they were told you can’t target a rider on a tip off (well not officially anyway ) it has to be random or appear to be
  16. That's probably why most of the guilty have got away with it over the years
  17. From a fans point of view I think GP2 a bit of a non starter but for me this is speedway all over, they trying to make it a competitor sport like Motox which at heart it isn’t , but hey it’s free, the reality check will be when they charge to watch it
  18. Apart from the roof most football stadiums could be used, the track is on a false floor in Cardiff and other venues like Warsaw so putting a track in shouldn’t be an issue, if willing let’s say Newcastle United , to hire the stadium will surely be the same or even less than cardiff , nitro circus is at a stadium in Glasgow, if the stadium has a full size football pitch then it’s big enough for speedway
  19. I hope the crowd holds up this year , I’ve just got a feeling it will be noticeably down, I just don’t see or feel the buzz around speedway for it and everyone seems to say no I’ll watch it on TV , I do feel it’s time for a change of venue, maybe up in the north east somewhere ,anything to get that buzz back
  20. Whilst on the subject of barker over the weekend I learnt that drug tests have to random, even if someone gives a name of a rider that is suspected of taking drugs to the testers they can’t target that rider, I suppose they could say it was random but they know a certain rider was in a certain race or meeting
  21. Just caught up with today’s meetings, Bartoz is a class act and I can’t see how gorzow will stay in the extraleague without him
  22. I actually find it quite disrespectful how pretty much all ex riders are treated by British speedway, unless a rider stays in the sport in another capacity they are quickly cast aside and that goes for former world or even national champions
