Leicester v Poole SGB Premiership A. 9/4/18
Gemini replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nothing is the answer. If you live in Leicester you will know that it started raining at 12.30pm and hasn't stopped since so it was a good decision to call this off early. The fact there was racing on the circuit yesterday makes no difference to the amount of rain that's fallen. It would still be soaking wet if the track had stood empty all day and you can't prepare it when it's chucking it down with rain. -

Yes it was going. Just turn up, there aren't usually many waiting.......if any. -

I don't think you will have to worry about the PL matches finishing that quick! It rained all the way through so the sensible thing to do was get a move on if the match was to be completed. Well done to all involved. If it had been a PL match we would have been waiting around in the rain to see if the riders were going to come out for the next race ~ an hour's delay to see if the rain would ease off ~ then home soaking wet after seeing 10 heats .........if we're lucky. -

About 350 I would guess, which considering the weather (rained all the way through) is pretty good and it will only get better once the sun starts shining and word gets around about how good the racing is. Really enjoyed it and all credit to the lads who got stuck in despite the rain and tricky track to produce some great racing which was on a par to any PL match I've been to. -

Rained all the way through this afternoon's NL match so the track was very tricky. Really don't need any more rain tonight or tomorrow if the meeting is to go ahead. Hopefully the forecast is wrong. -
Always loved his riding style since I first saw him at Coventry. Probably not the quickest but it sure does look good.
-
Why not as there is zero chance of him promoting at Brandon again and like it or not he is the owner of Coventry Bees. He'd be a bit stupid to just lose out on the money he has paid for the riders. Chris Harris would probably go for a bag of chips and a beer after his comments. Avtar Sandhu made sure he got all of his assets.

How many fixtures run over Easter?
Gemini replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Which I suppose is quite surprising really as Manchester and the Lake District are usually ~ rightly or wrongly ~ areas that are perceived to get wet weather. -

After the long, horrible Winter we've had if this turns out to be true I have made a promise not to moan that it is too hot......ever again. -

Leicester Lions v Tru Plant Stars - Easter Monday - OFF
Gemini replied to Trees's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
True. I can remember being at Ipswich on a Good Friday and it was boiling hot. -
Or perhaps it's just the fact that mostly these meetings are only once a month?
-
I know someone else who has always had that opinion when Danny rode for the Bees. Not me by the way.

Leicester vs Somerset Monday 26th March Challenge
Gemini replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is this true because nothing in the latest news on the Leicester website? Still saying the World Champion is in town and I can't find anything anywhere saying he has been injured. -
Perhaps means one rider going round with no opposition so it's hard to judge how good they were?
-
How can averages change just as the season is about to start?
-
That's worrying. Must have changed sex then because profile says Female aged 53. Mind you women do get a bit strange and stroppy when they reach their 50's.

I think Adonis is female. Speedibee has recently posted too so his exile must be over.

Rubbishio.

Save Coventry Speedway: STATEMENT: BEES AT LEICESTER Whatever that is it's not available.
-
I think a lot will be there. It's getting them to Leicester with admission fee going to Mick Horton that seems to be the problem.
-
There seems to be 3 reasons, although I'm sure someone else can point out a few more. 1] Dislike of the promoter and the feeling he is in some way helping BE achieve their plans of building houses on the Brandon site. 2] The distance to travel and the fact this isn't really a Coventry Bees team. 3] National League Racing, which the majority of fans didn't support at Brandon so are hardly likely to support the team at another track.
-
Ah.....you see I don't know what's going on half of the time and struggle to understand who exactly is at fault but I think I get that one, although it's maybe true without the Stock Cars? Perhaps by the time the season starts I will be able to work out whether to support the NL team or not because at the moment I'm 50/50.

Blimey! We agree on something. Very unprofessional of Chris who some have admired as a Coventry rider for years. He should have kept his mouth shut whatever feelings he had, but then he's not really one to do that as he made enough fuss about having to pay for his partner at the 2016 Dinner/Dance and refused to go whereas others like K.K. flew over from Poland.
