Kings Lynn Vs Wolves ( Double Header) 23.08,17

I have as well and I've got something to play them on. Remember the Walkman? -
.....I wait with bated breath to see if you get an answer.

Sheffield Tigers V Edinburgh Monarchs.
Gemini replied to graz gp's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With a bit of luck the idea of promotion/relegation play offs might just be quietly forgotten as it's a stupid idea anyway which hasn't worked in the past when it was tried and won't work now. If Leicester have any sense they will want to drop down a division in 2018, (unless it's one big league), and carry on with Saturday night racing. I doubt if Sheffield want to be in the Premiership so it's going to be interesting watching both teams attempting to lose. Better tell the guests in advance what the plan is. -
One would hope so but who knows what will happen next season. We may be in different leagues. Just wanted to add I'm very impressed with the announcer at Beaumont Park ~ Tom Sensicall. Nice clear voice, very rarely makes a mistake and explains what is happening when there is a delay of any sort. Well done Tom.

Don't mock. I've still got some too. -
Daft idea if the aim is for Clean Cut Sports to sell DVD's. Surely it would be better to show one of the more exciting races to encourage fans to buy them. Showing that race is hardly going to boost sales, but should do okay with Belle Vue fans.

Swindon Vs Kings Lynn 21 August 2017
Gemini replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You got me worried then as I always like to go to the Sunday meetings at Peterborough. -
I can't see that far. I'll take your word for it though. Watching them negotiate bend 4 is bad enough.
-
Certainly have but I wish Scott Nicholls wouldn't ride quite so wide on bend 3/4.

They do in Leicester. Perhaps the sun is setting differently in Norfolk so you're very lucky. -

Facebook probably. So incorrect information then? Apologies. Still won't see him over here again though so all irrelevant really. -

Seems stupid to have the same teams riding twice. I thought it was daft enough when Leicester recently had Kings Lynn as the opposition two weeks running. The fixtures this season have been a shambles and now we're into the last few weeks they're having to be crammed in, in spite of the fact there are only a paltry 8 teams in the league and the season starts in March. How about ONE match which counts as double and the usual admission fee? -

Do you really think he's going to be available? How long does a broken shoulder take to heal and that's on top of the other injury he had? If he rides anywhere it will be in Poland. (Fully prepared to be completely wrong, but I doubt it.) -
In fairness I think James Sargeant was also without a team place at the start of the year due to his unfortunate habit of either moving at the start or touching the tapes so no team wanted to take a chance on him.

So what will happen about a sun break? Will it magically be okay to ride because they've got to get a move on? Best bet is to get Jim McGregor as the ref as he refused one at Leicester recently. -

Surely the Pole won't be back that quickly after a broken collarbone? Can't see him riding again in the UK this season anyway. I'd like to bet he'd turn down any booking to ride at Poole so I doubt it would be him guesting. -
Thanks for trying to help but it's Cycle Speedway fixtures not the Lions. I'm on their Facebook group which is pretty good with updates as well. Looks like I've had it for this season then because like you with Speedway I prefer 'top' league matches. I'm not keen on individuals either.
-
So how is one supposed to find out the fixture list? All the Leicester websites I've looked at are years out of date .
-
Oh right. Must admit we lost a bit of interest when they pulled out of the top league a few years ago and haven't been for a while due to Peterborough Sunday matches or family always seeming to want to visit on a Sunday afternoon and go for a walk. Will have to make an effort to go, although we have to hide the dogs behind a banner because strangely enough although they go to sleep at Speedway meetings they find Cycle Speedway very exciting. Must be all the little legs wizzing round.

In that case, although it seems I am a Leicester fan this season, I hope Kings Lynn thrash them. -
I think it goes much further back than that. I've not been to Wolverhampton for years since they banned dogs but before that always went twice when Coventry were riding there and Lindgren has pulled some pretty bad moves against our riders.

Leicester V Rye House 12.08.17
Gemini replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Summed up pretty well. Bit similar to Buxton where you wonder where the hell you are going before you spot the track. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Apparently the meeting starts at 8pm this week so that's a brilliant idea ~ bit of a parade and waffling about and the sun should be low enough to avoid any delay. Not sure if this is the plan now as the following match states 7.30pm start or if it's just because the City are playing at home at 3pm and giving more time for fans to attend both if they wish. -
Not just the younger generation as I should think someone 50 plus is classed as middle aged. I was talking to my nephew at a family funeral last week and he said he and his son went to the Sidecar meeting at Leicester which they really enjoyed so thought they'd attend the next Speedway match. His verdict ~ too expensive and too much messing around between races and what's all this about a sun break! They won't be going again.

Hope you don't mind if I reply as he's obviously not seen your post yet. Yes, it will be at Slater Street which is still going strong, although I don't think they have a team in the top division any more. Those were the days with David Hemsley, Mick Skinner, Craig Marchant, Norman Venson, Ralph Doughty and all the Whiteheads. Good grief! At last promoters with a bit of sense. That's one thing I won't be able to moan about now. Also a good idea now the Football season has started as it gives more time for those who wish to attend both matches.
