  1. There's obviously quite a lot going on a few years ago on the forum that you know nothing about. Joe Beevers thinks it's like some kind of 'Come Dine With Me' rubbish now but you should have seen what it was like back then. ......
  2. Oh dear. Coventry have 2 matches tomorrow so presume he will be missing.
  3. Yes, especially by Speedway riders but then usually deleted shortly after..... too late as we've all seen their remarks. Upsets me too but you don't have to see them. Just don't join any groups where they're more likely to be shown or just don't look ~ it's easy to scroll by. I love Facebook with all the Nature, Border Collie, Speedway groups etc., and seeing photos and comments from relatives/friends I don't get chance to see as they live too far away. I've got a few Speedway albums on there Joe so if you change your mind join and I'll be your first friend.
  4. Sadly I think you are correct and I was quite surprised they carried on after last season as attendances were pretty poor then. Rather telling it's the three clubs you mention ~ Kings Lynn, Coventry and Belle Vue ~ that also run E.L. teams and that's probably the reason why fans don't turn up for NL matches. Even Matt Ford had to give up in the end at Poole. I'll continue to give them my support anyway and I'm looking forward to the double header on Friday. Starts at 7pm so I'll let you know Islander15 what time the second match finishes. To be fair, barring any crashes, the matches are usually run pretty quickly and the riders are put on two minutes for the next race as soon as the previous race is over ~ often before the announcer has had time to give the result.
  5. Is that Chris Popple? He's a DJ so should have a good choice of music bless him. Glad everything seems to have gone well this season.
  6. Not only that but some of us are actually friends on Facebook.
  7. I'm afraid you need a sense of humour to look at most threads on the BSF these days and unfortunately I reckon mine must be a bit warped because I think some of the posts are really funny. The 'Tai Quits Team GB' one is always worth a read.
  8. Have you been hiding in the wardrobe then eavesdropping? You seem to know an awful lot about their conversation.
  9. It's only Tuesday though and weather forecasts have a habit of being completely different as the days pass by. Even those just the day before can be wrong, as was the case with the Poole match. Called off due to a bad forecast on Friday morning and it was actually sunny all day on Saturday.
  10. Found the fireworks and champagne that year did they?
  11. Well if they do and still end up as champions ~ which I think they will ~ perhaps they'll re-think the attitude they took when Coventry did exactly the same thing in 2010.
  12. I just don't get this calling matches off the day before. Worse still when the forecast is okay for the actual race day. My journey is only about 40 miles each way but I have to get from one side of Leicester to the other to pick up the A47 and then the A1. I hate it and Sunday is the only day I would consider doing it when the traffic is not so bad so I won't be returning for any mid week matches either. Perhaps because some of these Elite League fans had intended going. I know quite a few who were going from Leicester.
  13. With all the technology available these days there could be an instant end to any speculation by just putting a couple of photos of the track on social media. Jayne did this recently to show the Buxton track under water as proof of why their recent meeting couldn't take place. Not necessarily because I know a lot of people who were heading over to Peterborough this afternoon that don't go very often, us included. I think it would have been a bumper attendance today that would have covered any loss in the usual admission fee.
  14. I only looked on here to advise Macca to rethink his dress mode but I'm glad I did in view of the news that the matches have been called off already. What a disappointment as a double header made it worthwhile making the journey from Leicester.
  15. Ah....got him now. I did check the Workington and Rye House teams before asking so don't know how I missed him.
  16. Probably Poole if he wants a challenge. That would keep him on his toes all season because if his form dipped he would be dropped.
  17. I wouldn't bother as he's well known for not reading posts properly.
  18. You can actually use the 'hide' icon rather than 'edit' but of course the post wouldn't be so interesting as to what you originally posted for nosy people like me.
  19. I take it you've been to Peterborough before? It's not the pink top I'm concerned about but the shorts. You do realise no matter how sunny it is it still gets damn cold at the showground? I'll look out for you as I should recognise that attire, complete with goose pimples. I'll have two black/white Border Collies with me so should be pretty easy to spot.
  20. I'm tending to agree with that, even though it would probably mean James Sarjeant would be going off 15m in half of his races . Steve is right though ~ Poole could have used Pedersen as a reserve replacement anyway in this case so no ulterior motive here.
  21. If Bridger rides anything like he did at Coventry then I'd say there's not much chance.
  22. That's awful but not surprising in view of what's been happening with riders not being paid. Seems the only thing for Kings Lynn fans to do that still have their tickets ~ like Mimmo and em1500uk ~ is to attend the re-run. Damn annoying though as it would be the last thing I'd want to do in their position.
  23. Are you going spencebel? If so I might bump into you somewhere and say 'Hello,' if I can remember what you look like as I am notably terrible with faces. Judging by the comments the Panthers promotion use the annoying alphabetical method for programmes like Coventry so it looks like I'm going to have a lot of writing to do when I get there. Looking forward to Sunday as I've only been once this season since I started to attend Leicester matches as it's a sight lot nearer than Peterborough ~ just 4 miles up the road.
  24. Must have been walking back to the shopping centre then when Lucy was off lead because no way did she have a flashing light at the stadium ~ I'm not daft as I could have stopped a race with the red light. It wasn't flashing anyway and Molly didn't have one. You'll really have to make yourself known because I actually agree with quite a lot of the things you say, apart from dogs being at Speedway of course. Anyway, back to the discussion about the crappy track.
