  1. Absolutely entertainment. Since Dickson left the knee deep tracks have stopped along with hitting 60's and even 70 on one occasion against Scunny where it was a total borefest. The last month has been superb speedway, with the visitors all achieving 40 points, like when Ashfield first opened. However the downside is results like last night where teams heavily set up their track to suit the home boys mean we wont beat many teams on aggregate. Food for thought for the playoffs.
  2. And re-appeared pretty quickly. You cant push new material into a crater then expect it to pack in like the rest of the track. Expected better.
  3. I was there that night and the third bend had a huge hole in it as well as bumps on bends 1/2, not what you'd expect from an alleged top level speedway venue. Lambert put it on Twitter before the meeting had even started.
  4. Leicester v Leicester B. A good runout for the underlings should the main team suffer any more injuries. Damo won't have ordered anything other than a resounding home win.
  5. Only the third occasion this season we havent hit 40 points on the road. Sounds like we were beaten before we took the bikes out of the vans, or at least one rider was. He has form for this and over recent weeks the disastrous SoN, a couple of uncharacteristic falls and not winning the British Final have IMO seen his mood go down and we are seeing the legacy of that, very unfortunately. The culture within GLA now is the best racing possible on a smooth track, and the best spectator experience. This is the exception and by all accounts tonight Eastbourne set their track up for home advantage. That is still for us to be professional, rise above it, adapt to the conditions, get stuck in and show we can ride any track. Despite being unhappy with the track before the meeting it seems at no point did we request a track inspection. If it was that bad we would have. This tie was lost in the home meeting a few weeks ago. Tonight it seems we have dented our own hard won reputation. More repercussions are likely to follow.
  6. MBA looks a decent gater but not savvy enough to hold onto it. Hopefully just first night nerves. He wont be there for long if this is the same every week.
  7. Should also add fantastic crowd again tonight.
  8. Eight last places and an FX for Cook compared to Redcar's six. Tough start for MBA which needs to improve.
  9. On an average of 6.44 it wont be easy. Palovaara would fit but he really would need to be much more aggressive, he tends to win if he gates but settles too easily after bend 2 otherwise. Starkey is the engine room and will switch inside and out trying to chase an opponent for a point. Whats not in doubt is that r/r cant continue.
  10. Another excellent meeting on a very warm night but disappointing to give away a league point to a team who only provided three race winners. Palm Toft looked disinterested unlike last time and Riss warmed up as the night went on. Glasgow did well changing the reserves to suit each heat with Bailey really coming on each week. I would hold off on the race suit for MBA, he needs to ride more assertively and learn quickly that he'll have to pick a line, inside or out, sitting mid track invites passes. However 1 point is 1 better than Sarj in his last 2 home meetings. Hopefully next week we will have a replacement for Starkey, r/r yielded 4 points tonight, far less than PS would have.
  11. Being reported that Starkey is out for around 6 weeks. Being fourth in the averages means r/r with 2 reserve rides and one for the newly installed MBA, which is asking a bit. Being a crucial part of the season we may be better with a temporary injury replacement as approx 6 weeks could actually be longer. Anyone got a number for Victor or Joel?
  12. So much for the GSPA inferiority complex some of them are advocating.
  13. There were always going to be multiple changes with the team building average increasing during the season, something I've never seen done before and hopefully never again.
  14. Leicester Tigers! Now operating a squad system. Dickson trying to convince that Proctor disappointed to be dropped and has a point to prove when the teams meet this weekend. Do us a favour, even the Politburo would've been embarrassed to put that out.
  15. Absolutely brilliant again with points scored across the 1-7.
  16. Do us a favour with the Sedgmen comparison from almost a decade ago. This is the guy who Ipswich couldnt get rid of in 2017, missed all of 2018 and if he hadnt of been injured early in 2019 wouldve been clubless far longer.
  17. Desperate though Sedgmen will keep the wage bill down.
