Without coming up with rider suggestions at this point, I would like to see much more thought into team structure. For the last four seasons the teams at Berwick are a team of racers, racing from the back because non can gate. 1) A team in depth 2 x 8 pointers 2 x 7 pointers 1 x 6.5 and and 2 x 3 point reserves ( no big names like Gjedde & Kennet ). 2) When selecting riders, two things should come to mind, can they gate, and can they team ride. Something sorely missing in the the last couple of seasons, with some riders who had to win at any cost. 3) A track prepared to a consistant high standard, preferably slick to suit current engine set ups, the Under 21 FIM meeting proved the point, they can do it. I would say 30% of track prep has been fair with the odd really good prep FIM & Sky, the other 70% poorly prepared too deep creating one race line, with the consequence being Gate&Go meetings. They have shown on occasional meetings they can do it, all I ask as a fan is do it 90% of the time, it will pay by increasing the gate. Surely fans deserve to be entertained. I hope fans don't see this as knocking the club, it is not, I hope it is constructive critisism, because if things do not change to improve the entertainment, we will have no speedway at Berwick. So, please, please, no more about pies, toilets, fences, FIM meetings Sky meetings etc.etc. Give the fans high quality, entertaining, close racing, every week of the season, I am there to watch speedway, not to eat pies, I like my pint or pints after the meeting, not during, I am there to watch speedway.

Seems the decision has been made to keep points limit at 42,5 again for 2014. So now you can work out your teams.

A British licence could be granted to an E.U citizen as long as his permanent residence is in th UK, if he resides in Poland and travels to UK he will need to be released by the Polish Speedway Federation. According to the lady who is charge of Polish Fed, who partly instigated the amount of peeve I downed last Sat at Pardubice, stated his outstanding monies owed will be sorted out.

David Meldrum, Simon Cartright, Kevin Doolan, Adrian Rymel, Michal Makovsky, Josef Franc,Andreas Bergstrom, Tamas Sike, Tero Aarnio,Ricky Ashworth all of these individually, sorry if I have missed someone. For the last 5 seasons, every rider in the team got their OAKLEY GOGGLES, tear offs and lenses, supplied by Taffys Time Machine, the basis was, if you don't ask you don't get, most asked mind. Nothing like a bit of free advertising though.
-
He would still need to be released by the Polish fedreration, alternatively he could take up permanent residence in UK This is me, all of the Czech riders sponsored by myself in UK are Berwick assets, some may have moved to another club and come back, but whom I spend money on is my affair. I try and help all of our riders in a small way, but you are not far off the mark when you mention Liam Carr, I will see what I can do for him and also a future prospect in Leon Flint. Both will be getting new racesuits for next year. This is important these suits will be maunufactured by SPEEDWAY ANARCHY, one of those Czech speedway riders you mentioned ADRIAN RYMEL.

It was odd on Sat when Olly Allen made a speech at end of meeting, we gave him rider of the night, always rides well at Berwick

90%, somewhere about what was happening is all is needed, it's not a league fixture so is not vital that it is 100%. As one of Rickys sponsors, I am sick I won,t be there on Saturday. However all 10 of us going to THE GOLDEN HELMET will be wearing our RICKY BANDS, and I have a T shirt made for everyone with BERWICK BANDITS FANS-ASK UOU KEEP A THOUGHT FOR--RICKY ASHWORTH---AND HIS FAMILY.

Nothing wrong with using the internet as part of informing fans, the local press is another. Berwick fans come from all over, S.E Scotland, N/E.England and all over the Borders so not every medium works. I am fully aware of the effect of the internet on my business, however it is still only 15% who buy on line, so it must be that 85% still buy from shops, but I must still be aware of the effect on my business from the internet. That announcement could have been made on Saturday night for those fans that do not have the internet, they surely deserve that concideration.
-
When they didn't announce the line up on Saturday night, I did a quick straw poll of 25 fans sitting arround me. 13 had the internet available, 6 however didn't use it, only 5 had facebook. Extensive use of the internet for promotion of events, deprives approx half of fans of information, if it is not announced on the night. Just look around you at a speedway meeting, and look at the age bands, I think that group of people deseve better information, other than the internet, after all they are the paying public and without them we would not have speedway.

Get 2 brand new engines under Liam, he becomes a good punt. On the gear he has now, not good enough for P.L.

What if the average for 2014 is 38.5?
-
You are sort of right, the big problem I have had this season, I enjoy the hour before and the three hours plus afterwards with my friends. The two hours in between have been the problem, generally a poor product, with the odd good meeting thrown in. I agree with what Robin is saying, if you can get it right once or twice, the fans desetrve the same every week. The only two things that are important for me is a well prepared track and good close racing, win or lose, I want to be entertained.

Don't think Neil Machin has said he is waliking away from Shffield, it is simply for sale.
-
If Neil Machin does sell, what a great loss to P.L. speedway. An inspiration, something other P.L. promoters should aspire to. What ever happens at Sheffield I am sure Neil will still be involved in British Speedway, and I wish him luck in what ever he does in the future. Thank you Neil for what you have achieved for speedway in general.
-
Surely, the idea is to get as many supporters through the gate, not tell them not to come. The speedway product has undoubtably got big problems not just Berwick Bandits. When you have falling crowds as we have, is it not time to listen to the complaints. I am pretty sure the complainents on this forum do so because of the concern that if something is not done, they will lose their beloved speedway. Oh so true

Where Is It All Going Wrong At Berwick?

Absolutely, on race suits, this is his main income now, and very good quality they are. If everything goes to plan I am going to give him an order for 2 sets this winter. Apart from that he is pretty good now, he has just moved out of Prague, and has a new workshop about 50km away. I am really looking forward to seeing him at the Golden Helmet, also Michal Makovsky and all my other Czech friends. -

You have to someone with some sense in your life. If I have valued Berwick Bandits correctly, I could buy my dream trike with that, YES YES YES :t: Don't think he has ridden in UK, should come in on a 5 average, Holub on a 5 and Milik on a 7 and Berge on a 5 -
