And most sports with TV coverage have prospered.. Speedway hasn't... And why? You simply can not sell a team sport concept in such a contrived nonsense way, and expect success.. And that is even to some of your most ardent followers, never mind those watching at home who you potentialy hope would become interested in what your are "selling".. Too far gone now sadly, and anyway, the skill set clearly doesnt exist to give it the radical overhaul that should have happened post Covid.. A glorious "free hit" not taken up... A great sport to watch, but packaged so badly in the UK, it is laughable...

Damn... Glad I checked on here... Just about to set off from Stockport... Didn't want to miss this one for the world... Just hiope that they can rearrange it given the impossibility they faced of running it on other dates... Will it be the same line up.?. Hope so... -
But Mick... Surely EVERY stakeholder involved has been able to see that for years..? Tens of thousands of fans, who still visit now and again, and still follow the sport very closely, have "spoken" by the very fact they no longer attend regularly as they simply see it all as "Mickey Mouse" contrived nonsense.. When will "enough be enough" before the message sinks in?

Maybe he has gone away with his brother....? No point coming all the way back to England for a speedway meeting if so.. Might as well stay over there.... -

??? Surely they are guests that are of "a lower standard" only due to not having any other options? -

I do truly hope that a press release goes out stating that a meeting taking place with 13 riders, and FVE of them guests, was.... "In the interests of Speedway".... -

I have heard that this is "a one off" and won't happen again... -
You do have to ask what is the point of bothering to locate a new track if all you are going to do is to keep running the sport in such a ludicrous way... It can only sadly end up going one way...

The major fundamental issue that the sport has.. (In all its glory)... There is absolutely no point, as a fan, taking it seriously, and, without that emotional tie in, a team sport can never hope to be successful... And you can only infer that the promoters themselves don't take it seriously, simply by definition of such meetings being planned in... Deliberately devaluing your very own competitions is truly an incredible idea... Book online early if you want to get in would be my advice... -
God.... Moan, moan, moan.. That's all you ever get on here.. I am sure they will have planned for all situations and there will be a seamless transition into the play offs from the qualifiers... Let's have some faith in those who do such a magnificent job in running the sport in the UK...

A really good manager wouldn't give a toss as long as the team is winning... Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham won a Treble without even speaking to each other for ages.... SAF never bothered trying to fix their relationship as he ensured it didn't impact the others within the squad... Turn up, do your job, go home... That is professional sport.. -

It also hasn't been too long in real terms since he "burst on to the scene", so taking on three leagues now, and the GP's, GB team etc will ve being done whikst still in the "learning curve" part of his career... Maybe the UK was seen as the easier of the three leagues and the focus he gives Poland and the GP's/GB, isn't quite the same? Not many riders deliver consistent performance across all leagues and formats, and those that have, have generally done iit when well established at the highest level for a good few years, eg Doyle, Adams, Hancock.. Let's be honest, Dan won't be under anything like the pressure to perform like he would be in Poland, so I can understand him being a little off the level we would expect over here... -

Fair comment I would say... Been quite poor to be honest overall when you put his head to head record up against the other GP riders.. Heat One performances are particularly poor, both home and away, running far too many 3rds and lasts.. Always seems to put a "special" in at the NSS at least once a meeting though so always worth watching... And with the Aces a shoe in for the play offs a few bad nights won't do his average any harm for next year.... -

The Aces should close the back straight for a TV meeting and let everyone in the Grandstand for the standing price.. Then fill the back straight with advertising "banners" for their main spnosors.. Wolves, Sheffield and Peterborough should do the same.. And, if not enough sponsors to make it look impactful enough, then Eurosport and Discovery+ should have large advertising banners there.. Two major brands for Speedway to be seen to be attached to.. Given the camera shows the crowd level on the home straight so clearly, particularly at the Aces, then you would want the stand to look as full as possible.. Fill up from the front and leave rows empty at the back for the TV matches.. Unless of course you can fill it!!! A big ask that though for a "play off qualifier"...
