  1. Come on wingman Dan... We are going to need you in the final.... Joe Screen and Mark Loram time...
  2. I remember a meeting when Mark Loram passed people for fun... It had peed down and, therefore, Ole couldn't "idiot" the track up...
  3. BZ's to lose ... Kurtz has done brilliantly to take it to the last GP.... BZ not been pushed like this since Laguta... He is through a different level than all the rest, so if he brings his best game, he wins...
  4. Three Lublin riders to support BZ..... Can't see them wanting to go back there anytime soon to race if they end up helping Brady to win... Over to you Jack....
  5. One could have been his third title with the Aces, and gained absolute sod all publicity in the grand scheme of things for him or his club..... The other could change his life and add a good few hundred thousands to contracts and sponsorship deals from national companies in Poland next year, and increase his profile over there massively... Hmmmmmmm... A true dilemma indeed in which one to prioritise... Personally, I think he has his work cut out tonight as BZ will, most likely, minimum, finish on the podium, therefore Brady has to win... And that would be FIVE GP's on the bounce... Unheard of that isn't it? Four already being an extraordinary achievement which only special talents have attained, especially when two of them were delivered after an early warning for moving at the start... Best Wishes to him though...
  6. Bob Holness and Gazza's daughter have also been part of the ensemble of greats down the years.. No one does naff quite like UK Speedway do they?
  7. Will never happen.... No one goes out on Mondays or Thursday in Poole...
  8. No way did he say all that ... T'riffic.....
  9. Not sure... BV did when the track opened, and it was a key part of the business plan that they submitted to the council... We always use the food wagon on Kirky Lane so don't know if its still "in house" or now just paying concessions...
  10. Indeed... Tracks lose income throughout the year during the qualifiers, especially on those nights that the weather may be a bit iffy, or the opposition is poor, or the team is already a shoe in for the PO's.. (Or a track hosts a double GP!)... Therefore, you would think that they would want to deliver a full house to recoup some of that lost revenue... And, as you say, do everything to facilitate it... A strange business plan..
  11. Dynamic pricing usually comes down when demand is much, much lower than supply... It seems the Aces' leadership had a different idea...
  12. Not bitter at all... I rate Adam highly so Ipswich should use him wisely over the next two meetings... Very lucky to have someone who can still beat No1's at reserve... As I say, a "cheat code" if used correctly when replacing others...
  13. A "cheat code" at reserve for the play offs... I still rank him in the top five GB riders when fully fit...
  14. I agree, however... Getting them to ride over here will bring the thousands of fans back that have deserted the tracks over the past decade or so....
  15. Fair call.... However, in Div 2 one of their semi finals has been arranged knowing three guests will be needed for one of the sides... Don't help themselves do they?
  16. After 26 years of failure, Kurtz has been instrumental in winning the Aces TWO titles and played a huge part in getting them to play offs year on year... He obviously can be bothered then you could summise...
  17. They'll all be there next week... And at the start of next season... The sport now has die hards immune to the operating model, and immune to any "Barry White" served up on poorly prepared tracks.. Augmented by a few hundred at every track that attend play offs or BH's... If I was a rider last night, my thoughts would be about getting away in one piece, particularly if I had major meetings coming up in Poland and Denmark.. Not sure I would be worried about the views of someone who felt they had the right to expect me to take what I maybe felt were undue risks on a poor surface, given its my career that could be impacted by any crash.. It would be interesting to hear from Sheffield fans who attended the called off meeting the other week, when some Ipswich riders as well as some Sheffield riders wouldn't ride, as to how much worse their track was compared to last nights... Lads earning £500k (plus, and then some) in Poland need to sometimes ensure they look after No1.. Bottom line is, provide a race track that gives four lads in every race confidence they can use all the circuit, and ride closely together, and this thread wouldn't be discussing whether riders tried or not... And a decent race track is the MINIMUM you should expect as a fan, as everything else comes from that...
