  1. Going by my rough calculations the current averages from 5 official matches this season are: Wells 8.52 Vissing 8.33 Hansen 7.64 Jensen 5.33 Campton 5.20 Roynon 4.63 Williamson 4.19 Not a bad start. Rasmus has the most bonus points with 9.
  2. Derwent Park, Workington is a 5 minute walk from my house, because the track is very close to the town loads of people do just walk to the track. Can't think of many tracks that are so close to the town centre.
  3. Good night for the Comets tonight, Edinburgh very poor apart from Riss, Wolbert and Fisher who provided good entertainment. The rest of their 4 riders scored 5 points between them! Riss is spectacular on a big track, somewhat wasted on a track like Armadale perhaps. (Joke)😛 For the Comets, all round good performance, nice to see Campton winning a couple of heats after coming back from that collarbone injury, he has his knockers on here, but is still better than quite a few other foreign riders in the PL. Think we will be strong at home again this season, away form will obviously be the key factor in how we do, hopefully better than last season!
  4. Should be a good meeting, looking forward to the heat leader battles, will be well matched around DP. Erik Riss seems like he is ever improving and will be interesting to see how fast he goes tonight. The meeting will probably be won at the bottom end as people are saying. Matt Williamson has had some decent scores already and perhaps is one of the best No7's in the league. I'll go for 52-40.
  5. There's 1200 seats in the Grandstand, was a healthy crowd last night, they even had to apologise for running out of race cards. Overall they did well to get the meeting done rather quickly, the track was different to usual and maybe not to Hansen's liking although he still did rather well, Vissing certainly knows the fastest way around DP, looking like a great signing.
  6. Dan Bewley is the Comets no.8 this weekend. A season to early for him being in a PL spot i would imagine, only 16 years old too I believe.
  7. Looking at who's available under the average limit, it could be any of these: Victor Palovaara Andre Compton Josef Franc Kalle Katajisto Anton Rosen Steen Jensen Mathieu Tresarrieu Anders Thomsen Linus Eklof Jozsef Tabaka Steve Boxall Rasmus Jensen Plenty of names, but not many that stand out. Anders Thomsen would be one, but I know he's already doing quite a few leagues. I'd for Compton or Rosen.
  8. Does anyone know if the Aussie champs going to be streamed live online again this year? I think last year it was on that speedway gone wild website?
  9. Josh Auty's reckless move on Kenny Ingalls at Derwent Park in 2012 was one of the worst i've seen, Ingalls hasn't rode since. There was also the incident when Auty was riding in the second half as a junior 15/16 year old and rode across the centre green into one of the start gate staff and broke his leg, i remember thinking he was uncontrollable then.
  10. Ipswich Workington Glasgow Sheffield Peterborough Newcastle Edinburgh Plymouth Somerset Rye House Scunthorpe Berwick Redcar Impossible to predict really, but all for a bit of fun...
  11. Andy Murray was a much deserved winner, I was in Belgium for the Davis Cup final and his appreciation of the thousands of British fans in attendance was fantastic, he was still there in the arena walking round the crowd taking pictures signing autographs etc. for more than 90 minutes after the trophy was presented. A fine example of a Sports Personality in my eyes.
  12. The Adam Ellis situation seems strange to me, Is it possibly a case of him not wanting to ride PL, because he'd be a great signing for any club on his average. I find it hard to believe he isn't being contacted by PL promoters. Logistically I don't think a move to one of the northern clubs seems to appeal to him, maybe he has other non speedway commitments.
  13. A very good signing to complete the team , Ty Proctor is not a rider we've seen a lot of at Derwent Park down the years, his last appearance was in 2011 when he scored 8+1 guesting for us at Number 1. Before that it's almost 7 years since he last rode against us at Derwent Park in 2009 for Redcar in a team that also included a certain Mr Stonehewer.
  14. Campton has hardly had a chance yet compared to most, his spells in Britain have been stop start due to Visa issues, and even the season he had in 2014 was stop start due to him carrying an injury from June and Comets not having a fixture for 6 weeks at one stage. The guy is only 22, and has shown his potential with great results in the National and State Championships over the last 2/3 years, no reason why he won't add to his average next year, he was averaging 6.85 in 2014 in the main body of the team up until around June when the fixture situation and an injury knock didn't exactly help.
  15. You will be pleased then as you must like watching rubbish, with all the same old sludge Rye House have kept signing down the years.
  16. It's the best one they've done yet by far, again these games can be completed fairly quick though. Does anyone know how actually to gate on it???
  17. This game is now up on Steam, http://store.steampowered.com/app/348820/?snr=1_7_7_comingsoon_150_1 And it says available in approximately 10 hours, online multiplayer might be interesting. Also they now have an official website for the game http://sgp15.com
  18. Very pleased with the signing of Vissing, we have 11.87 left now, Dan mentioned that the next should be known by mid-december after the Aus Championships, I reckon it will be 2 aussies depending on those State Championship results, Campton (5.00) and Ty Proctor (6.68)
  19. We may agree to disagree, but I don't see how people are tipping Liam Carr to be the best Number 7 in the PL. He may well be in the top 5, but Matt Williamson had time to settle in at Workington last year and he's back again, averages a point more than Carr in the NL, and already has a double figure score in the PL. Can only see him really improve next year, just like the other ex-motocross riders that have transferred to speedway in the past. But hey... i'm sure both sets of fans will be biased
  20. At least the Bandits are back next season, the PL wouldn't be same without them. But unfortunately the team announced wouldn't fill me with confidence, no real punch at the top end.
  21. Assuming Campton is signing, I can't see us signing Rosen, Sarjeant, Palovaara or any other 5 point average rider. It would leave us with 9.5 or more points to play with for the last rider, there isn't many of those riders around and available to travel up to Workington, i.e King, Kennett. It is more likely to be two 6 or 7 point riders to complete the 7. I'm pretty certain Ricky Wells will be Number 1 again.
  22. For the final septet how about this; 1 Ricky Wells 8.86 2 Mason Campton 4.66 3 Kenneth Hansen 6.84 4 Richie Worrall 6.84 5 Nick Morris 7.91 6 Adam Roynon 4.39 7 Matt Williamson 3.00 Averages total to Exactly 42.50
  23. Won't be back, and wouldn't want him back no consistency and usually fails to produce away from home
  24. From the averages, I picked out this team, I reckon 4 of last seasons team will be back next year. 1 Ricky Wells 8.86 2 Matty Wethers 4.96 3 Kenneth Hansen 6.84 4 David Bellego 5.98 5 Nick Morris 7.91 / Thomas Jorgensen 7.80 6 Robin Aspegren 4.82 / Mason Campton(Visa?) 4.66 7 Matt Williamson 3.00
