  1. Yeah, just the roling averages from the Stats section https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2025-rider-statistics/ Klindt would be 8.36
  2. 1 King 8.59 2 Hook 5.63 3 Zischke 5.43 4 Etheridge 5.66 5 Batchelor 6.80 6 Ritchings 2.44 7 Grahn / Juhl Pedersen 5.30 / 5.00 Total. 39.85 / 39.55 That would be stronger than 2025’s team IMO, especially away from home.
  3. Let’s hope so then! And as above that phone is ringing with riders begging to join 😁
  4. Any of them would hardly be a throw out would they, team building is a numbers game isn’t it! Very limited No 1. options out there, a rider has to come from somewhere
  5. My hopes for 2026.. Someone new to ride at No.1. What's Mr Cook doing these days.... Only Joking 😄 Batchelor to ride at No.5, on his 6.80 average and not riding at No.1 he will be a really good signing. Disagree with anyone who thinks otherwise! Some returning faces, except for Fraser Bowes. Hope he travels in a fried out kombi. Track to be setup more like 2024, British U19 Final showed what it should be like Batchelor to not be assistant Track Curator Some form of prestigous meeting held at the GT Tyres Arena BSN Series to be re jigged, Boring facing only Redcar and Scunthorpe in early season meetings Bring back the Border Trophy More guarranteed Home meetings, wishful thinking! As for a No 1, anyone who doesn't fit in at Berwick, Glasgow, Redcar will do.
  6. https://workingtoncomets.com/comets-back-at-tapes-in-2026/ I guess that statement rules out anyone still believing it will be one big league next year!
  7. It's my thoughts only, nothing at all to suggest it will happen. As @SteelShoe says, if it was financially viable and well sponsored it would only add to the fablous product we have at Northside.
  8. It is strongly rumoured to be Northampton joining the other 5 making 6 clubs. Think you've misundertood, I mean a few extra meetings as in National League racing on top of Championship meetings of course, like a lot of other clubs have done this season.
  9. Really can't see many radical changes to the structure in 2026, they will probably go Premiership/Championship again. 6 clubs in Prem, 9 in Championship. Which will see the usual gaps in the calendar, maybe some form of National League will now be viable for Workington and we get a few extra meetings that way, because if it's anything like what we saw yesterday at Northside it produces great entertainment.
  10. Fraser did alright, decent signing for his average. But very hot and cold at times. Won't really be a miss in 2026. Riders like Tate and Jacob Hook have proved much more popular with fans, I believe a lot of this is partly due to them moving to Cumbria, embedding themselves in the community and having a whole different attitude to the club. Don't forget Hooky is younger than Bowes, he has just gone about his career in a different way and much more of a realist. I'm sure Tate and Jacob will be both back next year 100%, Tate will kick on again next year and hopefully get a place in SGP2.
  11. JD said at the presentation night Fraser had missed some weekend Comets meetings to ride in Poland and wasn’t getting paid. The whole situation all seems very strange, James said in a trackside interview at the start of the season Fraser was a very different character to the rest of the Aussies in the team. Did wonder what was meant by that at the time.
  12. He’s basically been missing Comets meetings at weekends to ride in Poland, and hasn’t been paid by Tarnow. Probably stressed out by it all hence the social media post he made. And then had a lift to Poole organised by Workington for the Riband meeting, which fell through so Andrew organised another for him, and in turn Fraser rang to say stuff the lift, the presentation night and Saturdays meeting. JD then made the comment that Fraser wouldn’t ever ride for the Comets again. Maybe like Cook last year he’s more hassle than it’s worth, sounds like another case of a rider that wants everything handed to him.
  13. Strange situation, certainly won’t be back at Workington given what’s been said tonight at the Presentation night. Maybe he just isn’t cut out for what is involved in this sport
  14. The stream is unwatchable, same for others?
  15. I think you just summed up life in general in 2025, not just speedway. You could argue in this case however that riders professionalism has took a huge upwards curve and therefore expect a return, whilst some promotions have not followed suit. Bringing a disparity in expections of what the sport is. Morrissey famously saw it coming way back when he wrote "I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving, England is mine and it owes me a living" I can't comment as I wasn't around in the 80s but I can only imagine what a different time it was.
  16. Stuff like this is purely nostalgic and will not work in modern day speedway. 4 Team tournament alone wouldn't work because where are promoters going to finance rider costs for 3 extra away meetings for top riders going by the old format. It's the same crack as people saying there should be a one-off final etc. Speedway needs totally re-invented from the top down just like domestic Cricket has with the Hundred. The only way to do this and keep the top GP riders riding in the UK is to have a separate summer holidays competition, a 'Super League' with maybe a modified format. Team names do not matter one bit, I was always sceptical but franchises work. And people soon find a team to support. 6 Teams would be based around tracks with large followings/finances and the ability to draw big sponsorship and fans in from other teams, 5 man teams (squads with no guest system) sticking to the usual Monday and Thursday priority race nights from mid July to end of August. 30 riders required with plenty to choose from. Example (recognisable to other sports fans) team franchises would come from; Glasgow Manchester Sheffield Midlands/Leicester London/Oxford Bournemouth A normal 14 team league ran at championship standard would be ran alongside this as usual from March to October for your weekly speedway fix. I don't think the standard of rider correlates to the size of the crowd. The rivalries and standard of racing builds this. How else can domestic speedway survive? It can't keep going the the it is! Unfortunately, I don't think some of the people running the sport would have the foresight to come up with a 5 year plan to incorporate this 'Super League'
  17. Fraser Bowes is guesting for Glasgow on Wednesday night at Poole, Nagel must be missing again!
  18. You know what is painful, reading your comments. The Comets are fast today, what do you think is going to happen if we get out in front and are fast. The Comets riders have had no problems passing today as seen in the last few heats. Stick to being an armchair fan and it’ll do us all a favour. Plenty of proper Glasgow fans here btw. Kudos to them 🫡
  19. Hopefully Ace Pijper is on standby incase Vinnie can't ride
  20. He also praised Vinnie’s efforts despite not beating an opponent, the problem is he never learns from his mistakes
  21. 7 points between 5 riders 3 of them scored by beating Loftus and Palm Toft 1 scored because of Palm Toft being excluded 3 of them scored by beating a team mate in 5-1 defeats. Remarkable to only get beat by 20 points, we’ve had much worse results this season but none feel as bad as this one.
  22. Credit to Jacob Hook and Batch, can’t believe it’s only 20 points we are down 😂
  23. You’d think it was some of these lads first time on a speedway bike tonight. All started with Vinnie throwing away the 5-1 in heat 2
  24. Just throwing away points in this meeting after 4 heats 🫣
